To sleep with covid

I am diagnosed gastroparesis and I've been ER so many times and struggling so hard but this doctor has done absolutely NOTHING!! It's been 8 month. NO MEDICINE, NO ADVICE, NO DIETITIAN, NOT EVEN SEE THE PATIENT!! I could only talk to the nurse on the video call... I recommend to see this doctor if you are willing to be not cured.

I've seen both Dr. Elijah and his PA Treece Lewis once since March and they were knowledgeable and thorough during the appointments. However the follow up is lacking. I was prescribed a medicine that 10 weeks later still was not submitted to my pharmacy. The Medical Assistant said she was waiting on me after telling me two months earlier they would contact me with the information. I never received a call. Now that the medicine is finally submitted to the correct pharmacy, it's like pulling teeth to get the office to complete the necessary steps for approval. I call daily and even though there's someone in the office, no one answers and voicemails are not returned (even though they have a 4 hour call return policy). The staff does not seem to care about the patients enough to help. The doctor scheduled a CT scan but never took action on the insurance rejection to schedule a peer to peer until I physically went to the office and showed them the rejection paperwork. They said they never received it but it was sent by the insurance company. The medical assistant asked me what she should do to fix it. When the peer to peer was finally completed and a new CT was agreed upon, instead of writing the new order they noted the old one was approved. It was not. I would have had to pay out of pocket if I didn't walk down to the office minutes before my CT to have them correct it. The medical assistant helping let out a very loud moan on the way to the desk to help which was unprofessional. I love the interaction with the doctors and I don't know where the disconnect is but I truly do not recommend this doctor unless drastic changes are made. No patient should have to physically go to the office for an issue that should be resolved over the phone in less than a day. It's unacceptable. I never got a visit. After two weeks of trying, and hours on the phone listening to dreadful hold music, I would end up connected with a general appointment person who could not schedule for Dr. Elijah, and said she would leave a message for them to call. They never called.

Called for appt, no response emailed for appt no response.. disappointed

I want to start this by saying that Dr Elijah is a compassionate, caring and wonderful doctor as is his MEDICAL staff. I was scheduled for a procedure last year and was told by his scheduler to call my insurance company and see if I was covered---something I have NEVER had to do before. I thought that was the job of the billing person. I am also a cardiac patient-- but was never asked for a clearance from my cardiologist. Now it is a new year, I am covered by my insurance for the procedure, but suddenly cannot have it done without a clearance from my cardiologist !! Admittedly, the cardiology office has been dragging their feet on this issue. So, on July 2nd I left a message for Dr Elijah's scheduler asking if she could email me the form and I would hand deliver it to my cardiologist office and hand deliver it back to her-----no response to my message ( not the first time). I spoke with my cardiologist on July 16th and explained the situation to him. He assured me that he would get the clearance for my procedure out that very day. I left another message for Dr Elijah's scheduler on July 20th and now, four days later, still no call back. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful doctors here, it is very sad that their non medical staff cares so little about the patients. Again, I would recommend Dr Elijah in a heart beat---- just make sure you know what your insurance covers, and you have no preexisting conditions, because the office staff will do little to help you. I had a great appointment visit with Dr. Elijah. Unlike other doctors I felt like he was very attentive, eye contact and all and was actually listening as I explained my condition. Definitely would recommend.

I saw Dr. Elijah in 2011 for a consultation then colonoscopy at Florida Hospital in De Land. He was very friendly, courteous and extremely professional. I would highly recommend him.
