My whole family goes to him and have for years. He is one of the most outstanding and caring doctors we have ever been to. He takes his time to make sure we understands what he is telling us. To put it in plane English, he beens over backwards to help each and every patient

Dr. Harms is the most caring Doctor I have ever had. He takes time to answer my calls and treats me like he would his own Mother. I appreciate him for everything he does. Excellent Doctor.

Not good I ended up in hospital for three days because he had no time to look at my blood work.I have a new Doctor.

Dr Harms and office staff do NOT put their customer service and medical obligation seriously forthright for their patients. Due to their lack of sending referrals to other physicians on time and within their standard guidelines and costing 92 year old patients money because the other physician office calls and harasses the patient for a twenty five dollar payment because of the general physician and staff lack of following thru on orders! Moving my grandma away from this poor service and lack of concern for elderly patients! Wouldn’t have this place take care of my son… and he is 3 year old pit bull! My favorite office ever. Denise and Dr. Harms are the most understanding, kind, down-to-earth medical professionals I’ve ever met. I highly recommend this office for all who wish for great bed side manners.

Thank you kindly for your years of care, I've been a terrible patient at times and you never ceased taking me.

Love Dr Harms!! He listens to everything you have to say He is very kind. I never have had a bad experience. He has taken my whole family for years and really knows his stuff!

I've been going to Family Physicians in Bethalto and seeing Denise Schleeper since 2015. I consider Denise my PCP and she's also my OBGYN. I cannot say enough good things about her; patient, kind, trustworthy and knowledgable.

Very friendly physician that takes the time to listen to your health concerns. My husband and I have referred several patients to him. If you are looking for a good Doctor in the Bethalto/Alton area that is connected to BJC Hospitals, we suggest Dr. Harms. Great staff in their new facility also.

How incompetent this office is. My loved one has some serious health issues and needs a primary before she can be seen by pain management. Bad enough she had to wait three months to be seen . I like Dr. Harms however his staff is a complete joke. They are rude for one thing, calling trying to get a medication refilled turns into a huge ordeal for a week, trying to get an appt. if you are sick well good luck they have told me to go to the clinics. Was not informed that they no longer took the insurance my child has until we showed up for appt. was told they would go ahead and refill migraine medicine and of course nothing has been called in. Maybe if they would actually do their jobs it would cut out all the phone calls. His staff is sinking his practice. I like Dr. Harms however his staff is a complete joke. Office is poorly ran. My husband has went days without his medications due to ignorance of staff. Also waiting an hour to be seen for a yearly flu shot is a bit excessive. Dr. Harms has a great bedside manner, but his employees ruin it for his practice.

Dr. Harms and his Nurse Practitioner are kind and caring people. My husband, mother and I have been very happy with our care. They take their time and truly care about your health.

I would recommend Dr. Harms however his office staff are the worst to deal with. I feel sorry that a doctor has to deal with such incompetence. Trying to get someone to answer the phone is a challenge at this office and then the hold times are crazy.

I'm new to the area and needed a new primary care doctor for migraine medication and other medications. I made an appointment and arrived on time but they closed the doors and left the office because I didn't arrive 15 minutes early. I have never had a doctor's office do this before. I banged on the doors and a lady finally came out to see what the issue was and I stated I had a 3:30 pm appointment but everthing is closed. I was told for initial appointments I need to be 15 minutes early. I said ok and that information was not relayed to me. She apologizedoesn't and took my medical records and stated someone will call me the next day. The next day a lady from the office called me and was extremely rude when I asked why a doctor's office would not call to find out if the patient was coming before rushing out for the day. She said that's not are problem and you should be on time. I politely reminded her that I was on time and she replied do you want an appointment or not. I said no thank you I will pick up my records later today. I have never had a doctor's office have so much contempt for new patients. Be careful with the staff. Dr Harms is wonderful. I refer people to him when they are looking for a new primary care doctor. That says it all doesn't it. The office staff, polices, and scheduling is difficult.

I have suggested Dr. Harms and his nurse practitioner to friends and family.

I call his office anytime of the day and get a message that the office is closed. It doesn't matter if it is 9am, 10am, 2pm or 3:30pm, the message says the office is closed. It makes sense now why Dr. Harms gives out his cell number. The office does not follow through. I am still waiting for them to Fax results to a Dr. 10 days later. How long does it take to send a FAX? I saw Nurse practitioner Denise and she was great. Needs new office staff. Can only schedule appointments online.

I don't like the fact that when I'm on hold, I'm on hold for up to 25 minutes at the most. It's rediculous, or the fact that I drive 15 minutes to get there for them to close early. I went there around 3:45 and they dont close until 4:30 supposedly. This isn't the first incident for that. Also went up there to find the door still locked after lunch and they forgot to open it. Other than that the doctor and his nurces are great.

Dr Harms is knowledgeable and caring. He took the time to listen to all our questions and is working with the other drs. However, his staff could not be ruder. They changed the appointment by an hour, but didn't contact us to let us know. After nearly 45 minutes, I asked how long they expected the delay and was curtly informed that the appointment had been changed, meaning we had another 30 minutes to go before potentially seeing the doctor. No sorry, nothing. Inexcusable.

When I needed to see him the first time (I suspected I had strep) his receptionist told me they could not get me in until the following week. The next time I asked for an appt I saw his PA which was fine but a week later I was seriously ill and needed to talk to him or make an appt. It took 3 full days and 4 messages from me to return my call. I ended up at urgent care. What is the point of a dr if you can never see them? Not to mention the fact that the receptionist was not pleasant AT ALL.

Dr. Harms has been great with my elderly parents and very willing to communicate with me, their son, about their issues and courses of treatment. He is consistently on top of their care and has been careful not to over prescribe. Highly recommended!
