I’ve had a really good experience so far with Dr. Brown and his staff. The PA who I talked to was very nice and took note of all my concerns while waiting for the doctor. Dr. Brown himself is a very serious person. There was no small talk and he was very quick to tell me what things weren’t a problem with just a glance, which was a little weird but I guess it’s efficient. Surprisingly he was also willing to discuss research I’d done myself for a problem I’ve been facing (with academic papers, not Facebook) and gave his own opinion on what I’d found. In the end he set me up with the treatment I originally had in mind. Lastly, although I didn’t talk to him about it, based on another review mentioning sweating and “electrolysis”, it sounds like Dr. Brown knows about preventing hyperhidrosis using an iontophoresis machine, which is something I wish I’d known about years ago. So my daughter just left this office and called me crying. She hasn't been to a dermatologist ever but has a acne problem and is very self conscious about it. So she gets in the chair, the Dr. comes out and says oh you have a lot going on there and I'm not sure I can help you. She came in so prepared for this with the products she was using and everything. He didn't even have a clue of the products. Doesn't practicing medicine mean you keep practicing medicine? Like being knowledgeable about what's on the market and such? Who in their right mind says that to a kid? I mean ZERO bedside manners!! He's lucky I wasn't with her. I've always said do you know what they call a Dr. that finishes at the bottom of their class? Doctor! So with that being said be careful with the Doctor you all select. Just because they have a piece of paper hanging on their wall doesn't mean they're a good Doctor with actual feelings. Would NEVER recommend him to anyone ever!!! So my daughter just left this office and called me crying. I was very ill for a year my doctor or VA doctors could figure out what was wrong. My skin was broke out from head to toe and my throat was closing so bad I had to go into the hospital and then I was referred to Dr Brown. Dr. Brown is an arrogant jerk. He has a total God complex. His jokes are terrible although his staff whom he was complete rude to felt obligated to laugh. Worst bed side manner of any surgeon I've ever seen. He was curt and bossy to his PAs. If you don't mind be treated like the help, then go see this guy. If not, find someone who is actually warm and caring. I figured that was a given with a reputable doctor but I guess I'm wrong.

Absolutely do NOT go here! Unprofessional staff, completely rude, mishandling of patient. Charged $200 no show fee after I had specifically asked for call back to confirm insurance codes. Never responded, took 4 days to get back to me. Never had anyone that was a DR or Medical Assistant review pathology results. Surgery wasn’t even needed. Totally money motivated practice and not patient health. I would rather pay $200 to an attorney for the principal of this then to give this office a cent!!!!

Approximately 45 minutes behind when I was given an appointment, I come with my mother to the waiting room, where we ready ourselves to see the PA. I came here with a moderate sweating problem all over my torso and back, and I'd argue she treated it quite appropriately. Very nonchalantly, she offers an unfortunately reasonable and ramshackle solution to my problem: rub underarm antiperspirant wipes all over my body, because there's nothing else they can do. This farce of an answer of course frustrates my mother, which then leads to the retort "So you guys can't do anything?" Bless her heart, the PA was kind, and I certainly don't agree with my mother's tone, but it seems the word may have made it to the lovely Dr. Brown. Entering wordlessly and without introduction into the room behind his flood of assistants, he blurts "so, where do you work" to my mother in a condescending tone. When she boggles at the lack of any kind of introduction whatsoever, he recoils and says it's "small talk" and that "he talks with plenty of people like that." Now, after saying "Hello, how are you," and getting yourself familiar with the patient, I can see asking that. But no, right out of the gate. "So, what do you do?" Is this how people talk? Do you just walk up to people and ask what their job is? How is that not anything but hilariously awkward? Well, after this farcical attempt at "small talk," instead of salvaging whatever was left of the rapport he torpedoed, he doubles down with another completely innocent question doused in a venomous tone, "Where do you work?" This becomes a bit too much for my mother, and she defends herself: why is this any of the doctors business? After the affront of that asocial behavior earlier, I would have lost my patience too. After saying "Hey, we're all a little high strung right now" to give us a chance to diffuse the tension and agree it was a little snap of anger, Dr. Brown further doubles down and says something to the effect of "No, I'm not high strung," in as smug a tone as one can muster. After the little spat, I try to again salvage the situation. I ask about what possibilities there are, and he mentions the aforementioned wipes, as well as something along the lines of electrolysis and lasers. I've seen vegan dishes with more meat in them than in the meat of this blown-off conversation. After being suggested to ask questions by my mother, tensions surge. He asks us very angrily to leave his office, to which my mother promises him she will report him for this behavior. After congratulating my mother on "really momming it up" in an attempt to shame her for having any teeth when faced with bold dismissal, he opens the doors for us, and shouts at us never to come back to his practice. Insults are slung around angrily back and forth as my mother and I head to our car. The last words that cling in my mind as we drive away was when he told her, something something, "shove it up your backend." How very unfortunate it is to see such kind staff besmirched by such a hot-headed narcissist. I could certainly tell the venom in his voice came from our undeserved attempt to ask questions about their emaciated quality of care. I promise you, had my mother told him what she did as a job, he would have pulled a "Who's the doctor" card on all of us in an attempt to grind our questions into the ground, and let his spectacular knowledge and superiority over us prevail. Now, I've had a plethora of medical procedures done on me, including a hospital stay and recovery that lasted a month, as well as a back surgery. Though my 18 years of life so far may be short, I can promise you I have never seen a doctor so bellicose in nature and venomous in tone. Hostility oozes from his words, and any concerns one have seems to be brushed away. Fortunately, there is a practice right behind the building that is headed by his once-partner. I wonder why they split up? Approximately 45 minutes behind when I was given an appointment, I come with my mother to the waiting room, where we ready ourselves to see the PA. I came here with a moderate sweating problem all over my torso and back, and I'd argue she … More

I moved to the area from New York about 6 months ago. Before moving, I had noticed a strange spot on my shoulder. The spot continued to get more suspicious in appearance. I became very concerned, but being new to the area, was not sure what provider to seek treatment from. My father in law is a retired Dermatologist back in New York, so I decided to ask him for his input. After some research, he suggested that I schedule an appointment with Dr. Brown. He said his education, credentials and training appeared to be impeccable. I called Dr. Brown's office to inquire about scheduling an appointment, expecting that even though I had a very concerning spot, I would most likely have to wait weeks to be seen. On the contrary, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating with my level of concern and got me in that same week. Turns out the spot I was concerned about was in fact skin cancer. As alarming as that was to hear, Dr. Brown was very reassuring and kind, and answered every one of my many questions, with great patience and compassion. I had a MOHS surgery that next week and was cancer free when I left the office. I am extremely grateful for Dr. Brown and am so happy that my Father in law recommended him. I highly recommend that anyone with a suspicious spot or any dermatologic issue, consider Dr. Brown, he is by far the best! I moved to the area from New York about 6 months ago. Of all the experiences my family has had with doctors, what we experienced with Dr. Brown was the worst - we couldn’t believe how unprofessional and negligent he was. I strongly recommend against seeing Dr. Brown especially children, or adolescents. My son developed a severe skin condition, and Dr. Brown was unprofessional and negligent in providing my son’s necessary care. Additionally, poor communication and follow-up care prompted me to call our pediatrician. Our pediatrician was concerned, and referred us to a new dermatologist. We stopped seeing Dr. Brown, and what a difference that made, night and day! The new dermatologist treated my son’s condition with utmost care and professionalism. From this experience, my son and I realized how truly terrible our experience was with Dr. Brown.

Excellent doctor (kind of a serious guy). Went to another local dermatologist concerned about an odd spot on my shoulder, was told it was nothing and not to worry about it. Went to Dr. Brown for a second opinion, and he said if I was worried about it that it was worth checking. Biopsy came back as melanoma. I was 35 at the time, mom to two young kids. Thank you Dr. Brown for saving my life. I can’t imagine how much different my kids would be without their mother (and my husband too)! Had a horrible experience today. Doctor Brown was 1 hour late to coming into the appointment. No apology. Actually said he was in surgery and "that was more important". Did not introduce himself. I was on the phone with a client when he entered the room (which I did not answer the phone without asking the nurse if it was ok), and immediately told theclient that the doctor had entered upon his arival and that I needed to get off the phone. The doctor offered to get the person on the phone off, and I responded with "are you going to tell them you're an hour late?". He was very abrupt and had terrible bedside attitude. When my son explained that he did not like a lump he had--Dr. Brown could not understand why not--that he is a boy. I stepped in to say that it makes others uncomfortable to rub lotion or massage in that area on his back, and said it may be uncomfortable for his wife someday. He said "he's 15--who's going to touch him?". Well hello--we were there because my child was uncomfortable and embarrassed by it, and people do have to rub sunscreen on him (in fact--my son had 2nd degree sunburn and the doctor did not even notice it today--the nurse did), and he avoids wearing it just so others don't have to touch the lump he was concerned with. He made my son feel shame. And embarrassment. I approached the doctor after to say he could have handled it better--the doctor kicked me out of the office for "being rude" that he was "joking" when he said he could get the person off the phone and it was my fault that the appointment went down hill. My son and I would not recommend him based on his people skills and his anger issues. This is not the first appointment where he has been VERY late in appearing and no apology. He demanded respect, even though the way he handled his business and this concern was not respect worthy. Came across very narcissistic! Did not humble himself at all when I approached him--literally raised his voice and commanded I leave that I was disrupting his business and that I was rude for attempting to speak with him after the appointment. His staff apologized--I felt bad for them too. I asked my son upon leaving on a scale of 1-10 how much embarrassment I caused him--my son responded, "That man was a jerk from beginning to end. He sure did not come across as a caring doctor to us. He wasn't like any doctor I've ever seen before. We don't have to go back there, do we?" From the mouth of a 15 year old! No, we will not--and will gladly post this review for others to "consider" before they go. His receptionist is his mother, who seemed nice. And I heard her say they were booking out until October 2016--it is 7/6/2016 today. Maybe they should budge additional "what if" time, so they don't run 1 hour behind, and don't yell at people when they are crabby and behind schedule. They may be booked out farther if they allowed enough time for each patient to receive quality care and concern. PS--I would have given zero stars if it would have let me. Had a horrible experience today. Doctor Brown was 1 hour late to coming into the appointment. No apology. Actually said he was in surgery and "that was more important". Did not introduce himself. I was on the phone with a client when he … More

Dr. Brown and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about all manner of skin issues. I have been treated for several different conditions and have always been more than satisfied. The care in the office was excellent, and the medications were called into the pharmacy right away.
