Dr. Christopher T Buchanan

Dr. Buchanan has been my Urologist for a number of years. During that time, I have always received the highest level of care from both he and his staff. I recently underwent Greenlight Laser Surgery with overwhelmingly positive results. Prior to deciding to undergo the procedure, Dr. Buchanan carefully explained the procedure to me in terms that were easy to understand, which helped me make my decision to proceed with the surgery. I was provided with excellent pre-op and post-op care, which made the recovery period very short, with minimal discomfort. The surgery has provided me with a significant improvement in my overall quality of life, while also allowing me to discontinue a medication that I had taken for many years. In short, based on my personal experience spanning a number of years, I recommend Dr. Buchanan enthusiastically and without reservation. Both he and his staff are "top notch!"

Urology exam that led to a scope procedure. Dr Buchanan recommended a green light laser with excellent results.

Waited 45 minutes after appointment time in the waiting room, then waited another 30 minutes in the exam room for a less than 3 minute talk/examination , to be told He can not help me, with a reference to another urologist. At least he knows what can't do.

I have never seen such an unprofessional provider. I would give him negative stars if I could. He performed surgery on my father. There has been complications afterward. He has never returned a call or an after hours call. We had to go to the ER, they paged him and left messages multiple times with no return call. This man is ridiculous. RUN THE OTHER WAY AND FAST!! Find someone else. No help what so ever for my kidney stones.

Iv never dealt with such unprofessional behavior. Last minute cancelations to being road blocked by automated answering services. Do your self a favor and find another doctor.

Good staff. Dr. Buchanan was professional, to the point, and experienced. The staff and Dr answered all of our questions.

Great location and very comfortable environment. Staff was very professional and made me feel at ease before, during and after my procedure. Highly recommended.

Really didn't have things together when I went for my first and last visit. Almost 2 hours before I saw the Dr. Next.. the Dr. didn't have a clue to help with my diagnoses, seems like I had to push for any help. Not personable and lack of empathy to help with my problem. A waste of copay and several hours off work. I will be letting BCBS know of his lack of interest in helping a patient. Maybe it was a bad day! He is a great urologist

Super awesome staff! Everyone there really cares and makes you feel very welcome. I recommend them to everyone!

After waiting over 1 hour and 20 minutes in the lobby I was finally seen only to hear the treatment I was referred to him for was likely not going to alleviate my symptoms but he was going to go ahead with it anyway. This despite the fact all medications have potential side effects and affect longevity differently. I was not impressed and walked out.

His office does not call when they change offices

This guy and his employees were rude the minute i walked in. Had to wait an hour before this guy even came in to talk to me in the lil room. Seemed to blame me for getting my kidney stone, told him i was in pain...just shrugged me off as he left the room. Pretty disgusting people there.

I cannot recommend Dr. Buchanan. He did perform my first bladder suspension and lithotripsy and those procedures went as well as can be expected. From 2005 or 2006, it went downhill from there. My last encounter with his office and with him was awful and rude. He basically dismissed my concerns and was very condescending. At my insistence, I left an urine sample (he said that I could leave one if I wanted....it is a urology office....that should be mandatory!) and walked out, vowing never to come back and even told the receptionist that she could drink the stupid thing if she wanted to, I didn't care WHAT she did with it! I was mad at her for telling me "to just put it over there" when I asked her where to leave the sample since ALL of the entire staff had left the building or were out of sight. A few hours later, I received a voice message from Dr. Buchanan explaining that my urine sample looked really bad and that he was calling in a prescription for me and needed to see me soon if I didn't feel better. I saved that message on my phone for a long time. It was as close to an apology or acknowledgement that I would ever get. Well, I was septic...and was admitted to the hospital for seven days. Needless to say, I found another urologist and he has yet to dismiss my issues such as Dr. Buchanan did. I cannot recommend Dr. Buchanan. After waiting over an hour, I saw him for about 5 minutes! He had me scheduling for a procedure before he even asked me about symptoms or examining me! He scared me to death telling me there was a 50/50 chance I had cancer! Really? You hadn't even looked at me yet! He had absolutely no interest in answering any questions, in fact, I felt like I was bothering him! After a second opinion with another Urologist (who I am so happy is now opening an office in Granbury in 7/19), I found out I did not need this procure at all and he assured me I was fine. This doctor spent about a half hour giving me an exam and explaining things to me. He even called to make sure I understood everything! It made me so happy to call and cancel my procedure with Dr Buchanan!!!

Their handicap parking is blocked on the driver's side. Receptionist was indifferent about how to slove the problem.Surely a Doctor's office can make a handicap parking place easy to get in and out of..Suggustions?

When I consulted another urologist concerning painful urination he advised exploratory surgery would be required to locate the problem. He discovered a large mass of tissue remained after the TURP surgery. He moved this and cleared the passage which provide immediate pain relief. When I consulted another urologist concerning painful urination he advised exploratory surgery would be required to locate the problem. He discovered a large mass of tissue remained after the TURP surgery. He moved this and cleared the passage which provide immediate pain relief. Since then urination is greatly improved to a point as it was many decades earlier!

Dr. Buchanan is treating my Mom for bladder cancer. He found the cancer and quickly began treatments. He is professional, very knowledgeable in his profession and helpful & caring when explaining his findings & next steps. His staff is second to none.

Dr. Buchanan came highly recommended by many of my co-workers so when I found myself in some pain, I made an appointment with him. He diagnosed me with bladder cancer. He was caring and compassionate and told me what to expect. I was in surgery immediately and the tumor removed. Once the pathology came in, he explained why I would have to go through treatments and what to expect there, as well. He is very knowledgeable and explains things in terms you understand. Dr Buchanan was great. He was very good about explaining everything to me concerning my kidney stone, and my options for treatment. Scheduled my procedure quickly. Listened to my questions and concerns, and made sure I understood everything. Him and his team were very helpful and compassionate.
