I was a patient for 15 years and she abandoned me when I needed her the most. She’s a terrible communicator and gave up on me because I couldn’t afford to go see her suggested therapist because I didn’t have insurance.. right when my mom was dying. Terrible communication. She don't care about her patient she's just money hungry she just wants the insurance money or the cash

Dr Chinnaswamy has always been available when needed. Sometimes she runs a little late but who knows what the current patient's needs are.

She did not do anything to help me. When I needed a doctor in a crisis situation she was not there for me. I would not recommend this doctor

Dr Chinnaswamy is one of the best, very personable, polite, and caring. You can talk to her about anything and she listens, understands and is there for you personally.

I went to Dr.Chinneswamy about 8 times. The office is gross, reception isn’t very good, and the doctor I would rank 2/5. I diagnosed myself. She doesn’t seem to really care, visits are maybe 15-20 minutes long with the Dr but you’re likely to wait 20-60min to be seen. The carpet and chairs in the lobby are gross. Recently since the pandemic started in February I don’t know if the office closed down entirely but their phone still rings and the voicemail is updated, they do not answer their phones or return messages. It is extremely unprofessional. Oh and for first time patients even with insurance you’re charged a $100-200 fee that might be refundable by insurance I can’t remember. Kind and caring.

Wait time when you have an appt can be 1-1 1/2 hrs. with a waiting room full of people. She rushes people through their appt (5-10 minutes) like cattle. She isn't knowledgeable on any of the drugs she prescribes. NONE! Waste of time and money!

The receptionist told both my doctor who referred me AND me that they take my insurance. Upon arriving I immediately wanted to verify that they take my insurance and was told that they don’t... the woman was cold and uncaring. I even got the nurse who helped refer me/schedule me on the phone who confirmed that she was told the EXACT same thing that I was told. I made my appointment via tri-county mental health referral. I went to my initial appointment and went to a physiologist right next to Chirta Chinnaswamy who didn’t know who her neighboring physician was. After seeing this physiologist she explained my appointment was probably for the doctor next to her. At this point she walked me next door to make another appointment. The following week, I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment to find no receptionist. I then waited for another 10 minutes before the doctor herself came out of her office. I asked when I would be able to be seen and she responded that I had missed my appointment the week before so it would be awhile until my “paperwork” would be done. I explained what had happened the week prior and she stated rudely without any care for my emotional or mental health that it would take awhile to be seen. I would never refer anyone with any form of mental illness to see such an uncaring or thoughtless physician. It’s not a wonder why individuals opt to not seek help when the people helping should never practice this type of medicine. Go elsewhere. The doctor seemed kind and attentive during the first (and only) visit. However, when I followed-up with a request for medical records a few months after my initial visit (because documentation was requested to complete processing of a medical card), I received notice that she was no longer serving me as a patient with NO EXPLANATION along with the aforementioned medical records. Furthermore, the receptionist insisted that the Dr. had left the building so there was no opportunity for me to find out WHY I was dropped, leaving me without coverage/treatment. I haven't seen or taken medications from any other psychiatrist since that visit and was completely forthright with Dr. Chinnaswamy during our short time together so I can only assume there was a misunderstanding, however she has ignored all subsequent calls, messages, etc so it's impossible to determine. Unfortunately, Dr. C failed to reciprocate my transparency and openness in her dealings with me, the client. It's fortunate that my symptoms are not severe, but when medical professionals ignore their responsibility to provide adequate coverage and communication it can be dangerous not only for the individuals, but for the community around them. Dr. Chinnaswamy, you owe it to patients to either provide a reason for ending coverage, or to listen to your patients. Doing neither is unacceptable, irresponsible and imperils the greater community. I assume you had the best of intentions in denying me services, but you were wrong and I fear that you'll be wrong with clients in the future when the stakes are higher. I've been going to Dr. Chinnaswamy for 13 years and honestly dont get the bad reviews. She has been nothing but nice and amazing to me. Truly someone who does care and help wherever she can. Sadly, she is no longer taking new patients, because she is currently scaling back her private practice for another opportunity. Thanks for all you've done Dr. C! This doctor was my doctor for years and years. When I needed her the most she told me she was downsizing her practice and left me hanging in a terrible reality while not calling in my meds properly.

This Dr is terrible. I would not take my dog to her. Uncaring and incompetent.

Over the phone they said they took my insurance and I got there they did not. Then I was talked to by Dr. all of 5 minutes for $150.00. left there feeling much worse nothing accomplished. Did not ask questions . Did not even take my weight ,height. I am sorry but would not recommend this Dr. Waste of my time and money!!

I don’t feel that she is actually listening to what I am saying. I seem to have no voice in my treatment. Then there’s the face that she double and triples schedules patients. I never get in on time.

I would recommend Dr. Chinnaswamy. She listens to everything you say. She is very patient and also cares about you. She wants the best for you. I like her a lot.
