Unprofessional, rude, and misses phone appointments. A practice I would not reccomend to anyone. Everyone needs a doctor who will value you as a person and treat you with respect, dignity and professionalism. This doctor will not provide that.

Don't go....I have never seen such an unorganized dirty office in my life...if you want a phone call at 1am...or get asked about THE WRONG SYMPTOMS...then go...but I advise you not to go!...She needs to retire!....I'm sorry but when you can't find the oxygen tester in a pile of papers or take someone off one med and dont replace that needed med...something is WRONG! Like I’m not just saying this to be mean, this lady is CRAZY! How she has a license I do not know. Yeah she takes passport if you’re looking for that but for real look elsewhere. Trying to save you frustration and time. If you read this and still go with her, jokes on you.

I am not from the area and needed someone for a primary care physician. I was able to get in to see her right away. I was there early (12:30)to do paperwork and didn’t get out of there until 2:30. Also gave her a $20 dollar bill for a $10 copay. She gave me $10 back in QUARTERS that she was digging out of her purse and drawers. Everything seemed really dirty and cluttered which is not what I am used to. I am used to big, beautiful, clean, and welcoming clinics. This was a whole new experience. The following Monday I had gotten a call from a doctors office saying they could see me but I would need a referral from my PCP. I called Dr. Barnes 5-6 times throughout the day but no answer and her voicemail box was full and couldn’t leave a message. I was finally fed up and made an appointment with another doctor. She finally called back around 5:30pm. I told her that I was a bit frustrated with not getting a call back and not being able to get anyone from her practice. She then began to yell at me, saying I was being argumentative, impatient, and very controlling. All I needed was a referral. I told her to cancel my appointment to talk about the labs she had wanted done. She said she was going to send me a dismissal letter because of my bad attitude and that I was ‘warned’ by her. She gives one warning before writing a dismissal letter. I have never heard of such a thing and I worked in healthcare for five years. She said she would cancel my appointment and told me good luck with trying to find a new doctor but was very passive aggressive. Also told me at my first visit that the vitamins I was taking were going to kill me, I shouldn’t do a certain weight loss procedure (after I have done a years research on the subject with different doctors and patients) forgot to listen to my heart and lungs, and barely asked me questions about previous history. Doctor barnes is very understanding, I have been going to her since my early 20's she is also my children's doctor, my also tends to my siblings and mother. She knows what she talking about, she may take a while to see you and she may be chatty at times but believe me this lady knows what shes talking about. A lot of people dont appreciate her but in all my life I have never found someone more helpful, understanding and knowledgeable. There is protocol like with insurance and she has to follow it. She sees both my little ones and she sees me and to be honest I would not change her for anyone else. She is fast acting one time I came in because I had an abscess and she noticed I had a fever and sent me is immediately to norton, she called in advance so I didnt have to wait for me to get into surgery, I had a severe infection and almost turned septic, thank you dr.barnes you saved my life. If she cant fixed you she will also send you to a specialist, she has sent me to two different obgyn and two different endocrinologists. If you are having issues with the other doctors she will refer you with new ones. She is great. People dont like her because she follows protocols but to be honest it's the best because she always has control of the situation and truly knows best. Before her my oldest child was going to another doctor and he was so rude and disrespectful and didn't care about my daughter when she had surgery at 1. So trust me I'm going to keep going to her. They dont make doctors like her anymore, she takes the time to make sure you're okay. horrible person all around. i refuse to call that a woman a dr. She told my grandmother what to say to anthem to cancel it (gma is 89) and told her medicare would cover everything but then my grandma started getting bill after bill from cheryl barnes. she conned my grandmother. sad. thankfully i was able to help her get another insurance and a new dr. please dont go to this woman unless your looking for a headache.

I rescheduled a doctors appointment a month prior for June 8th 2019. To receive a call from the receptionist, notifying me that they have to either “cancel or reschedule” my appointment because the doctor has a dentist appointment that she has to go to. Conclusion... I will not be rescheduling wirh this doctor.

Like many of the reviewers, I gave her one star because I had to choose at least one. If you are looking for a physician and have options go almost anywhere else, unfortunately I realize some people have no additional options. I'm shocked and disappointed that the medical community, including health insurance companies, have not taken steps to sensor Cheryl Barnes. The exam room was dirty AND there was NO sink or sanitary items for washing hands. Cheryl Barnes was not dressed in a professional manner, she did not act in a medically professional manner. Like many other people, if I could give 0 stars I would. Previously, my boyfriend had when to see Dr.Barnes to get accommodations for work. She was an hour late to the appointment and barely let him speak because she kept telling pointless side stories about other patients, family members, etc. She faxed over the paper work and when the people at his work called for clarification of the paperwork, she said she had no idea who he was and no knowledge of the paperwork that SHE signed and sent over. Today I called and simply asked for the pricing of bloodwork and how soon I could get the results back. She answered the phone and was automatically very condescending and rude. She kept interrupting me to tell me stories and patients that weren’t even relevant to the conversation and when I tried to get her back in topic she snapped at me and told me I was being too narrow minded and needed to look at the big picture because BLOOD WORK is DANGEROUS and I could die from blood work. I followed up by asking how in the world blood work is dangerous and she said “I think I know what I’m talking about. I’m the doctor. I went to medical school”. Dr. Barnes is my primary physician, my husband's, my brother's in law, my sister's in law, and also some other friends' . She is the best, the nicest, the most professional doctor that I've ever seen.

Extremely rude and doesn’t know how to do job. Because of her my grandmother hasn’t gotten to have her surgery her blood pressure is always sky high and she’s always in pain. This doctor has also told my aunt about other people’s problems (breaking hippa) she has also put my aunts info in with somebody else’s getting it all mixed up.

Dr Barnes and her middle aged son who is her secretary? I waited almost 2 hours and had to go get labs one EVERYTIME I saw her. I had to hear about how she had declared bankruptcy because of the lady who did her books.. She was cheating Dr. Barnes? Why would you tell your patient things like that?

If you have any other option at a doctor use it. This is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with. I work at 10:00am so I asked every time to be scheduled as the first appointment. My appointment was at 9:00am (Barnes told me NOT TO BE LATE!) and she didn’t arrive till atleast 9:45 then I didn’t get seen for another 30 minutes. This wasn’t just once it was every visit. Also I had a rib X-ray and had to go offsite to do it which was fine but she didn’t order “rib detail” so the X-ray was essentially pointless. One appointment I scheduled for late afternoon and it was her last appointment of the day. She asked me to give her a ride home which I did because I’m a nice person but that’s extremely unprofessional. Overall she is unprofessional and lacks detail. I've been a patient of Dr. Barnes for over 3yrs. My best friend and her mother both are patients and recommended her to me. She is the best Doctor I've ever seen. I love the time she takes with all of her patients no matter the insurance they have. I have great insurance and could go anywhere I want to. She is definitely not a "pill" pushing Doctor. She checked my vitamin levels and has me taking the right doses and the ones that I'm missing or need to increase. She's so comfortable to talk to and doesn't talk above my head. She's also the 1st Doctor I've been able to get into a good relationship with and not feel like I've just walked thru a revolving dooor! I hope she never changes her beside manner! I didn’t even make it past the waiting room. The “receptionist” if you even wanna call him that was wearing basketball shorts and a T-shirt. The whole place looked dirty. I just didn’t feel comfortable there at all. I waited for about 45 minutes and just didn’t feel right about it.

Dr Barnes is a horrible Dr. She spent the first half of my office visit trying to convince me to give her at least $20 for a copay when I don't have to pay a copay for the insurance I have (I know this for a fact) and making me feel like her and her middle age son wouldn't be able to eat that night if I didn't (I'm exaggerating but not by much). Then she spent more time complaining about how expensive her copay was for her insurance. Then about how sick she was without her blood pressure medicin

Expect your appointment to be at least 3 hours behind schedule. Dr Barnes spends the entire appointment talking about her own health issues. She wrote me completely bogus prescriptions for medications that don't exist. Her office was unclean and smelled of cigarette smoke.

Very unprofessional. I am not sure how this lady is a dr. She made comments on other patients in front of me and her office is run like some unorganized chaos where they do not return calls and you wait on average more than two hours. Been here one time never again.

She doesn't even deserve the 1 star, but there isn't an option for 0 stars. She is by far the most unprofessional person I have ever met. Her office is dirty, filthy, cluttered, and she is ALWAYS late. She hasn't ever been on time to a single appointment for myself or my husband. When you finally do get into the office she wants to tell you all about her "famous" son who is in a band and everything about her and doesn't give a care in the world about why you are there. She writes off any and all concerns you have. Half of the time when you get to her office there is a sign on the door thst either says "I'll be back I'm 45 minutes, I went to get food" or a sign that says "I've gone to get food" and once she gets back long after your appointment has passed she doesn't ever apologize for being late and it's always the same excuse next time. The last time I was at her office she answered the phone as soon as we had started talking without ever even saying "excuse me" or anything and was extremely rude to whoever was on the phone and when she hung up she proceeded to tell me about how crazy he is and that he thought his wife may be having a heart attack and she didn't know why he bothered her with that. It was absolutely awful. I called her today to ask to be seen and had a question and she yelled at me, and told me she wouldn't discuss my concern with me until Saturday when I needed to know if I need more immediate attention, and then she hung up on me. I will be calling the state Board and my insurance company tomorrow and I will be filing formal complaints. This lady is absolutely awful! Just like the other post I am giving her the one star because there is not an option for 0. She is the WORST "doctor" I have ever heard of. Very unprofessional. Most doctors with such god awful bedside manner are at least good doctors. This is definetly not the case here. I have contacted my insurance provider and they said that they have a huge file on her. The care she gives is beyond awful. Out of the three issues I had in the year of seeing her she misdiagnosed all three. She requires visits whether you need then or not and massive amounts of lab work. She spends the entire appointment, when she finally shows up, either on the phone or running on and on about herself and her family. She will call your insurance company once she gets in the room, instead of prior to your appointment. The issues I had were not medical mysteries, but normal everyday problems and yet not once did she know what was going on and so a problem that should of lasted a week or two lasted a year. I can not believe i even made it that long, except that I was too busy to have to go through finding a new doctor that knew what they were doing. I seriously doubt this lady went to medical school anywhere beyond online and that is seriously pushing it. It was easy to get in and now I know why. WORST "DOCTOR" EVER. I have not one positive thing to say about this horrible woman. If she really does have a license to practice it should be revoked immediately if not sooner.

Treats her patients like crap. Very argumentative.

She is not a real doctor and I would give 0 stars if possible. This "doctor" is nothing but a pill mill who is more worried about her own medical issues and her 40 year old son and his cats that live with her. Good luck getting any kind of treatment from this doctor unless you are looking for a pain pill handout. Also be prepared to wait hours after your scheduled appointment to actually see her.

One of the worst doctors I have ever been to. I am very disappointed.

I've been going to her for a year because she was close to where I lived and I always scheduled my appt times for later when I didn't have anything to do because I heard she runs late. This morning my appointment was the first of the day at 8:30 and she did not even show up to the building until 9:30. When I made the appt she said "are you sure you will be on time? It's the first appt of the day." And I said I would. An hour later and she's just showing up? Ridiculous. I will never go back! The was polite. The Dr on the other hand was (as someone else also commented) rude and condescending. She seemed annoyed by me and frustrated. I felt so uncomfortable. And I waited 2 hours after my appt time before I was seen. I had even come 1/2 hour early since it was my first visit and I knew I would need to fill out paper work. Absolutely the worst bed side manner I have ever seen in my entire life. The nursing staff is awesome however the doc is less than professional about her job. Everything she says comes across more condescending than concerned and she's looking seems more that absent minded. I also discovered wait times have always been atleast a minium of a hour. So if your appointment was at 10:30 you would not get seen untill 11:30 or later not convenient to do on a lunch break. Her office is cluster no organization to it what so ever and it doesn't feel very sanitary when you enter. the office is very small and not very clean Writing on the paper that goes on the patient bed from the previous patient. likes to talk more about her personal life than medical issues. Took my 2 children there for physicals, ages 5 and 6. When giving the hearing test, she turned into the corner and whispered a word for them to hear and repeat. 3 weeks after I took them to see her, my 5 year old ended up with a 5 lbs tumor the size of a football, that she had no clue...she had cancer. QUACK

This was the most negative experience I have ever had with a doctor. Dr. Barnes is extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and arrogant. She has a negative remark to say about every topic we discussed including bashing other doctors. She radiates negative energy and I would advise any person to look elsewhere if you wish to receive good care.

In October 2014 I had scheduled a 1pm appointment with Dr. Barnes. When I arrived there was a couple in the waiting room waiting for their appointment. While I was waiting for the couple who was in the waiting room to finish with their appointment another person arrived for their appointment. I finally go back to see the doctor right at 2pm. Within about 10 minutes of being with the doctor another patient came in for their appointment. I realized at that point she was already two hours behind. I told the doctor that I could just reschedule with her so she can get caught up. My rescheduled appointment on November 17 12:30 pm was cancelled by her due to her not being able to drive with the 2 inches of snow that fell. She was a bit evasive as to why she was calling at first. I was taking my son to school and then I was going to log in a drive for my job. I asked her if she wanted to reschedule because she might be stranded and that that would be fine with me. She stated that the whole city was stranded. I am dealing with the morning rush hour as she is saying this. But I just let it go and have her check her dates. She said she could get me in after the first of the year. I asked her if she was serious and she asked me if I had ever heard of Thanksgiving and Christmas. Which was almost comical since I host the whole family every year. She then asked me if I was American. That was the last straw. I told her to take me off any list that I would not allow her to talk to me that way. The lady is a bit nutty and she obviously has no concern for her patients. It is an hour still until my appointment and the roads are melted and just about dried up at this point. I am shocked this person has a business. I can see why she has no receptionist and trouble with her assistants showing up when they are supposed to; which is what happened on my first appointment. I find Dr. Barnes to be an excellent physician. She is professional, friendly, and kind. She is one of those rare doctors who will really listen to what one says before making a diagnosis. She will answer any question without dismissing any worry as being trivial. I highly recommend her.
