Many neighbors and relatives chipped in to lighten the load. And we got $17.50 from the Navy each month whether we needed it or not. Doctor visits were $2 or a cup of coffee and pie. I have seen Dr. Pinner give a dollar back out of the 2 handed to him, if he even took the 2. Of course, house calls are in he distant past. . The Pinner family family of doctors in Peak, SC have been well rewarder by the work of the Old Doctor. All of us who have enjoyed the good life from day one, look back and see where it started.
