Dr Behrend’s staff made sure I had the necessary X-rays, MRI and completed paperwork for Dr. to review prior to my appointment. Even though he had the information he listened to my concerns and then did his examination. He is very caring and respectful besides being an excellent spine surgeon. The East Valley is blessed to have him in our community!

I have been to a lot of Drs since my accident and Dr. Behrend was not apathetic like most of my Drs' experiences. And he gave me a treatment plan I was extremely satisfied!

Dr. Behrend has definitely chose the correct profession. I consider him to be extremely compassionate and polite with me (as his patient). And yes, Dr. Behrend is a very busy doctor. That's because he is good at what he does. My first appointment almost didn't happen because he running over an hour and half late, and I was just about to walk out of the exam room. He approached me with an extended hand and a sincere apology. He then took the time I needed to explain why I was having medical issues and MY options to correct the issues. So, it was then that I understood his tardiness; his approach is one of a personable, caring and patience doctor. Something that is missing in today's instantaneous world.

It's a cattle stampede there. The doctor's assistant said she was gonna return my phone call worst case by the next day I didn't hear from her for 2 weeks she claimed that the doctor was in surgery so she couldn't talk to him but for 2 weeks I don't get it.

PUT MY MIND TO EASE. I STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO.

Such a great Dr with amazing bedside manor. He made me feel so comfortable and truly listened to my concerns. I finally have light at the end of my tunnel and I appreciate Dr. Behrend so much.

Well organized, welcoming and helpful staff and techs. Dr. Behrend is so kind and empathetic, he explained the procedure well. Lower Lumbar issues, fusion recommended. His demeanor and patient nature was what I needed to calm my fears. No pressure, gave me information, RX and PT for now. Excellent care, knowledgeable, personable.

This was my first visit with the doctor and I was impressed. He obviously read my file and was aware of my back problem he proscribed meds and physical therapy before jumping into surgery, that made me happy

Not only was Dr Behrend voice and mannerisms comforting yet soothing. He explained everything to us, didn't make me feel as if it was all in my head with what I was experiencing. He cares about his patients!! I left his office in tears but very hopeful because I know he is going it help me feel better

I am very happy with Dr. Behrend. He first performed surgery on my back after another surgeon messed my back all up, she is from Turkey and works at the biggest hospital in Mesa. When Dr. Behrend performed surgery, I was free of pain for about three weeks, but the screws started to back out and I broke another vertebra. When Dr Behrend found out, he performed an emergency back surgery. At the time Dr Behrend seemed very concerned about my health and about my wellbeing. When I was realest from the hospital The Doctor acted like I was his only patient, and I was treated like a king. I meet with Dr. Behrend on my follow up and he had the same feelings for me. I can say I am on the road of recovery, thanks to Dr Behrend My pain is lessening every day and I thank the doctor for being their caring for me after all I have been through. Yes I know he will help anyone that comes to see him.

Dr. Behrend listens and truly cares about you. Takes his time with you and is compassionate.

Nice guy but came in ready to talk about my neck when my back was initially the problem. Physical therapist was able to diagnose my injury as a rib out of place in between visits with Dr. Behrend. No idea why I was told to get a MRI or will be expected to pay for this follow-up visit where I could have been told my results (of no real “neck” injury) over the phone which I initially requested. Complete waste of time waiting an additional hour in the waiting room and behind closed doors before I even saw Dr. Behrend. Honestly feel taken advantage of financially for what was fixed in five minutes with a racketball…..Thanks to Dr. Zupka with OrthoArizona for that though!

Dr. Behrend was very thorough with his exam and comforting in his explanation of my possible issues and plan for further diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Behrend is pleasant and thorough. He has a plan and actually lets you know what it is. My wife and I have utmost confidence in him.

I have been working with Dr. Behrend to resolve back pain I have suffered with for 10+ years. Setting up 2nd surgery that will hopefully get me relief. Dr. Behrend has been very strait forward and honest with treatment procedure and I look forward to finally getting rid of this back pain.

I saw Dr Behrend's Physicians Assistance today for the first time. She was wonderful, answered all my questions - - very caring

The front desk personnel were friendly and kind. The exit desk personnel were friendly as well. DR. Behrend was so nice and caring. He made me feel at ease and was super nice!

He is a very caring and professional doctor. He is an amazing surgeon and has accomplished exactly what he said he would do. The surgery was very successful and my pain is completely gone in that area of my body. He is the best.

I could write a book but, in short, Dr. Behrend is EXACTLY the type of doctor you would want performing your operation and taking care of you. Any metric, any question, my answer would be 5-stars. Not to mention he's given me hope that no other Dr. in 16 years was able to give me. Thank you Dr. Behrend.

Terrible experience. Took more than 3 weeks to get an appointment. Waited 1 1/2 hours with no doctor and no updates. Had to leave for another appointment. Tried to reschedule the following day. Next appointment in 6 weeks. Asked for other options. Was blind transferred to a voice mail.

Amazing doctor great bedside manner understood my problem and had some great options to fix it.

Dr Beherend is a kind and caring doctor that listens and understands. He is very concerned that his patients have a good outcome.

I had surgery with Dr. Behrend, he absolutely changed my life. I am into Physical therapy and acupuncture at the moment. He is a wonderful humanistic physician and an expert in biomechanics. I know is scary to put your spine in someone else hands: Dr. Behrend is the one.

My wait was a little long, but worth the wait. Dr. Berhand was so nice,caring, concerned and I was very impressed.

I just had spine surgery from Dr Behrend He is awesome fixed me up got rid of my pain and arm issues It’s so appreciated and I give a full recommendation

It may take a little while to see him but it's worth the wait! He was friendly, thorough, and provided highly vetted referral partners to help me find a solution to my pain - he really cares about his patients success and getting you answers.

Dr. Behrend and his PA were wonderful! They both were very personable and explained my condition in a way that I could understand it. I would highly recommend this team!

He did an exceptional spinal decompression on my back. He gave me back quality of life after 2 years of pain and misery.

He referred me for kyphoplasty which according to the dr I went to would have driven the bone fragment into my spinal cord. Finally ended up at Barrow Brain and Spine and received reliable information.

It's nearly 3 months wait for an appointment with Dr Behrens and he's not taking new patients.

Simply one of the best spine surgeons in Arizona. The C5-C7 fusion performed on me eliminated every symptom that I had experienced. Dr Behrends made a statement that thoroughly impressed me, he stated that he was a scientist.

On my first anniversary of vertebrae fusion, the doctor said the surgery and bone growth did the trick and reversed my pain. He said, Once a patient, always a patient and to schedule a follow-up visit should I need one. Great feeling to know OrthoArizona is there for me whenever I need help.

Such a compassionate doctor! He heard the problem well and explained the solutions nicely. I had to wait a little to see him but after meeting him it was absolutely worth the wait. He is a wonderful doctor!!

Dr. Behrend was very thorough and explained everything in terminology that someone who is not in the medical field can understand. He was compassionate and addressed all of my concerns. I would recommend him to anyone going through what I am going through with my neck.

After giving him my history and all the things that I have done already he called me a "troublemaker" because he couldn't do his normal protocol with me. Dr. Behrend is very thorough & I believe genuinely cares about his patients. My health is extremely complex & I’m so grateful I found him.

My surgery has restored me to resume an active lifestyle

He is a wonderful person and a magnificent doctor. He did a spinal fusion on my back and my previous pain is completely gone. He really deserves 10 stars!

My experience with Dr. Beherend and OrthoArizona have been excellent. Dr. Beherend, along with Crystal and Renata have been both professional and exceptional. My only regret has been having to use Brittany as any source during the process. Not only has she been unprofessional but her interaction has caused delays and discomfort in both Pre-operative and Post-operative stages. My only hope is that she can eliminated from the equation on future visits or treatments.

Dr. Behrend is excellent. I'm so grateful to have him as my neurosurgeon.
