AVOID THIS DOCTOR AT ALL COSTS or you will end up paying multiple fraudulent charges!! This office will store your debit or credit card info without your knowledge and will then proceed to charge it despite having canceled the appt several days prior. Further, this office is impossible to reach anyone on a live phone call and the only option is to leave a message with no returned calls. I know that negative reviews can hurt a business but I am writing to help protect consumers that may fall in this office poor business practice. Please go to another MD because Dr Mech is unethical. At 1 visit he proceeded to tell me how Covid was a fake vaccine manufacture by the chinese which was totally inappropriate. Do yourself a favor and get seen by a different psychiatrist.

The receptionist, Jenny, sucks. She doesn’t call you back. She tells you she is sending your job the signed paperwork and never does even after multiple phone calls, voicemails, and emails. Dr. Mech is wonderful, BUT it is absolutely unacceptable how hard it is to get ahold of them. I need a form signed and have left 5 messages and 2 emails over the past 8 days and no one will call me back. I've been a patient for months, and no one has EVER ONCE picked up the phone. You have to leave multiple messages for days before they'll call you back. If you miss the call back, it'll be days and days to ever get ahold of them again. It makes the office completely unusable. The lady who answers the phones is very nice, but you'll need to make it your full-time job to try to get ahold of her, unfortunately. I am having to leave the office, because it's just not sustainable to chase them for weeks to book a standard appointment. :(

I just had my first appointment with him. I thought it went well. He seems knowledgeable and he got me back on the meds I need, but the problem is I CANT GET THE MEDS! After the pharmacy told me nothing had been called in, I called the office. She answered and said she didn't have my pharmacy information but the doctor DID get that information from me. No problem though. I gave her the information. It's been two days and still NOTHING has been sent to the pharmacy. Now I cannot get a hold of the office. This doctor is horrible. He sent me a bill from 2017 and never billed my two insurances. We went to him ONCE and all he wanted to do was give us more medication. I could never get a hold of the office. Just bad in general!

My wife went to this doc 4 years ago for a single appointment. She did not wish to continue, as he wasn't very helpful during that first visit. Fast forward to today, and she just got an email from a law firm threatening to take her to court if she does not pay her "unpaid balance" of $250 in the next 5 days. We never once received a single phone call, email, or letter from this office during the entire 4 years (yes, FOUR YEARS) regarding this phantom unpaid balance. Not 1 single communication about it. And no, we have not changed our phone numbers. We have tried calling his office numerous times, and have yet to get an answer. How many other doctor offices can you say that about? Reading other reviews, you can easily conclude that this is a shady practice. Most of the good reviews seem fake as well (my opinion)- he even had (what looks to be) his son give a 5-star review to bump up his rating. A doctor who doesn't update you on location changes, doesn't answer the phone, sends bills through lawyers years after appointment with no prior communication, and abandons patients, is a 1-star doctor. I do not like giving bad reviews, as I know the toll it can have on a business, which is why this is legitimately my first bad review I have written on Google. But when business is THIS bad, I feel obligated to forewarn other potential patients. As someone who works in the medical field, I urge all of you to stay clear of Dr. Mech and his office. Please, please avoid these offices. A few years ago they went off the grid, stopped answering calls and left myself and countless others high and dry after incorrectly doubling the dosage of a very dangerous medication. My review from 2 years ago has since been deleted so after they have recently sent me a BILL (the audacity of this office!!) I just wanted to update the reviews for this business and the blatant neglect and disregard they had for their patients. To these offices, do not send me ANY bill again. Disappointed. I spoke with a man named, Jeff on the phone initially who communicated well with me over the phone. However, he let me know he would email me a few documents before my appointment on Friday, then he asked me to email him, so I did. I never got a return email with the documents. Then Jennifer from the office called, and asked what time I would like to schedule my appointment. Jeff had already scheduled my appointment so that showed a lack of communication. Jennifer also let me know she would be sending me a medical history and new patient paperwork via email. I never received this. Now, this morning, the morning of my appointment, I noticed I have 3 missed calls from the office. My appointment is not for a few more hours and the voicemails are asking me to check in for my appointment, or letting me know i need to reschedule. TMS is expensive and time consuming. It's disappointing the staff isn't more organized. I will be looking for a different office.

If you actually get to see him his bedside manner and compassion are unmatched, the problem is actually getting in contact with the office. Sadly, I had to find a new dr because of it.

In the past He has been great and actually listens (and remembers) to details if patient’s needs. Suggestions of alterations when he feels it needed in the best interest of the patient. I feel He gets a bad rep because they do have an understaffing problem. Im trying to get through again myself. So it Makes him more like finding extremely hard to find gold on the positive side... hard to get ahold of while he rebuilds for his patients, so when u get ahold of the gold u will be grateful. He should get good reviews for continued trying to rebuild when life may be handing him challenges... he hasnt quit on people! So, great review for him and bad review for things he may not be able to control. Ill hear from him soon i hope.

Had a short run this this doctor. I experienced wait times of up to two hours on average. The staff forgot I was there at least once. They conducted lab work on me and forgot my requirement that it be in-network resulting in me having to threaten a lawsuit when they tried to stick me with a $2000+ lab bill. A sham doctor. Like some have said his nurses will assure you tests are in network then slap you with a $14,000 bill FOR ONE TEST. I was a paitient almost a year ago and had to scramble to find a replacement when his office suddenly closed with no warning. I’m honestly shocked he reopened. I had an apt today at 1pm and was told to go to their location in Frisco at 5899 Preston rd. However, when I got there nobody would answer the door and there were no cars there. I knocked and waited for 30 minutes but nobody was there. Then I called them and it kept going to voicemail which was full. I heard the guy say a new location in Plano of 101 E Park. I went there to an empty room. I tried calling the scheduler on her number but it is now out of service. So I am going home! I am so made spending all this money on uber rides and now I can't get my medications filled. Also when you can see him it is a min of a 2 hour wait, he triple books and it backs up all day. Please please I beg anyone considering treatment to please do even the most basic due diligence before even attempting to see him. I believe that you will be very surprised at the the amount of proven litigation, lawsuits and judgments that he is CURRENTLY involved in. All are matter of public record with both the The State Board of Medical Examiners and the Collin County Clerk. I have been a patient of his for almost 10 years and now it is come to the point that he is in violation of numerous legal obligations that he has with his patients in regards to the process that must be followed before any doctor can stop writing any controlled substance or the simple of fact of dropping you as a patient, what he is doing is considered legal patient abandonment and I will be putting be every resource that my family and friends have to use to ensure that he this time he loses his medical licence as the man appears to be a caring doctor but in reality he is a mockery of the Hippocratic oath that he took as he has does harm every day he chooses to enter his office location that he can afford at the time. Dr Mech disappeared, did not answer calls or emails, and let my prescriptions lapse. (He requires an appointment for each renewal no matter the med). I tried having the pharmacy contact him, no luck. I also cannot get my medical records, which is illegal. My insurance paid thousands of dollars for tests and I cannot get the results. I am filing a claim w medical board for patient abandonment. Dr. Mech is a brilliant doctor, but his business practices are completely atrocious. He doesn't have anyone answer the phones and voice mail is full. For all those dealing with Dr Mechs disappearance please be aware the Doctor is battling stage 4 Renal Cancer. I was a patient for 5 years and when informed of his condition my heart was saddened. Dr. Mech is a great doctor. I left him a bad review because he temporarily fell off of the face of the earth and left me in a bad position, but other than that, I have nothing but good things to say about him. He is a good doctor that truly cares about his patients.

everything was good for the past 5 months its been crazy getting my scripts and trying to see him. i have spoke to my casewroker and UHC to get me a new doctor but having issues getting my medical records. I will be seeking an attorney and see my options

I have left several messages and no return call or email returned. Three time, we have gone to his actual office and signs were posted that he did not pay and forced out. Super poor follow-up. I need my medicine refilled and can not. Three different offices we went to and three times, no actually In his office.

Getting refills was difficult every month. Now the doc is MIA and I’ve been without meds for 2 weeks.

I have being seeing Dr Mech for the last 6 yrs for my ADHD. He has moved offices at least 5 times due to lack of payment. He has cut staff back continuously throughout the years. Refills were like pulling teeth to get refilled. The final straw was two months ago, when he moved offices again and cut all of his staff, keeping only a receptionist. I have been out of medication now for over a month and currently looking for a new Dr. Do not use this Dr. All that you will get is a recording.

The office is left unstaffed too much! You should always be able to call a doctors office and reach someone or at least get a call back. Completely unacceptable! Three weeks and I can’t reach anyone to simply get an appointment!! What kind of joke practice is this?

How incredibly rude. My husband set up three different appointments with this office only to find out that their office is closed, evicted or locked out due to non-payment of rent. No indication from the staff that this was an issue and no care to call any patients who have set up appointments for the days following. Absolutely WORST experience.

Haven’t been able to reach office or leave a voice mail in almost 3 wks. Finally got in to see another dr. I’m really sorry for what patients must be going though not having their meds and constantly calling and obsessing about what they’re going to do if they don’t get their meds. Part of me also feels bad for Dr Mech something awful must have happened for him to let things get to this point. His practice was once a huge thriving well-respected entity. He was wrote up in esteemed Med journals.

Saw Dr Mech for ongoing treatment of mild depression and prescription maintenance. Only saw the Dr. on the first appointment and from there on out it was PAs who read my file during the appointment . Last refill visit resulted in approximately $4000 in lab fees. Don't recommend and will not return.

The receptionist and insurance coordinator in this office are not competent. They looked online to find the copay for my insurance and were shocked that I would contest the answer. When I called my provider to confirm what I knew was correct, they were clearly in shock. Furthermore, you can hear them talk about patients, I witnessed the front desk receptionist act with absolute disregard to a child with disabilities and she shrugged it off with no cares. I am very disgusted and disappointed.

Dr. Meck is seeing my grandson who has had problems since childhood. He has been put on one medication after the other but nothing seemed to help. Dr. Meck's holistic approach to my grandson's care has been amazing. He did take him off his medications and is in the process of doing testing at this time. He gave him a couple of medications that are not "psychiatric" but they have helped him greatly. Finally someone who listens and helps. I did have to wait a bit but it was well worth it.

I have seen Dr. Mech for several years. He is very considerate and compassionate. I trust him completely.

I arrived for my first appointment and was told the doctor had something come up YESTERDAY and wouldn't be in this morning. No one called me. The receptionist told me they could reschedule me for his next available appointment in 2 weeks. This does not seem professional. If something legitimate comes up, call the patient! Then don't offer to reschedule two weeks later when I show up on time for my first appointment!

Dr. Mech and his office staff are always friendly and up beat. The staff listens to your needs and helps you thru the process. Dr. Mech gets to know you, and gives a holistic approach.

I'm currently 6 days off my meds thanks to the lovely services of Dr. Mech's associates. After emailing the office, calling the office multiple times, leaving voicemails, and making sure that all of these times were DURING OFFICE HOURS, I could not talk to a single human being. This is the second psych I have had this happen to. Don't take on so many patients if you can't schedule them adequately in a manner that LITERAL CRAZY PEOPLE who are at risk to themselves might go off their meds.

Please stay away from this doctor. I read reviews and thought the bad reviews were bitter patirnts. I saw him because I moved to the area and he was on my insurance. He did blood work on my 1st appointment and told me he was going to get me off the medications. To make a long story short, he forgot to give me my prescriptions to ween me off meds, but didn't forget the prescriptions for vitamins, I think he gets a cut. I quit seeing him, and received a bill, after ins. Paid, for $4,200.
