Excellent dentist. Used him for years and always a positive experience. Happy to fully explain procedures, options and results in clear, unambiguous terms.

If I could rate this dentist with 0 stars, I would do it. Walking into this office immediately gives you the feeling of walking into a funeral home. It is musty, dark, and always smells of an older lady's perfume. I turned to Dr. Vines after experiencing some less than desirable dental work elsewhere. I was given an appointment and I was told that more than likely, my insurance would not cover the visit. I was fine with that, because I have been in a tremendous amount of pain, and needed some sort of relief. I arrived at my appointment on time and filled out the required paperwork. Dr. Vines himself came to the waiting room to get me. I walked back into the room. Dr. Vines asked me for the reason of my visit, and I explained to him the three week ordeal I had been through. He nodded and occasionally said, "Uh huh" "Ok." He then proceeded to do the, "exam." Not once did he lean me back in my chair, not once did he attempt to shine the light close to my mouth. He simply took his dental mirror, stuck it in my mouth briefly, and then announced that he would take some x-rays. When the x-ray was complete, he sat down in front of his computer screen to "examine" the pictures. He pointed out some areas that he believed to be bone shards (that has been the main problem I have had since my previous dental work), and then told me that my jaw bone was slightly disfigured. He then turned around and told me that I needed to gargle with warm salt water, (I've been doing that since my previous extractions.) He also completely disregarded my comment that I had pus coming out of my gum. He then began to tell me to take ibuprofen and tylenol, both of which I've been doing. I asked him if there was anything he could do, and it was at that point that he stated couldn't do anything at all, BECAUSE HE DIDNT DO THE EXTRACTIONS!!! I really wish he would have told my grandmother this on the phone when she graciously made the call to his office for me! I walked out of the office in absolute shock, and paid my $65.00. I began crying as soon as I got to my car. This man neglected to tell me that he couldn't help me until he already had my money. I attempted to get a refund, but you know how that goes. If you live in the Shoals area, I beg of you...DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST! He is overpriced, and both his office and him are outdated. You would be better off seeing a veterinarian for dental work over this man. If I could rate this dentist with 0 stars, I would do it. Great dentist and amazing staff. My family has seen Dr. Vines for years.

Have always recommended Dr. Vines...we will see after today. 8/24/16 The likelihood of recommending Dr. Vines depends solely on the outcome of today. 6-10 visits in past 2 years is appx number of visits.

this dentist lied to me I had set of dentures made2 yr ago they have never fit right receptionist was very rude an would not let me speak to dentist when my tooth broke off my denture during while I was eating chicken I was told by Dr vines when I purchased the dentures being I had a set made by Dr John n Florence n they did not fit either he assured me verbally if I ever had trouble with them in any way that he would stand behind his work was told today by receptionist lady that I couldn't talk to him at all bout my tooth unless I paid 55 dollars exam fee n then wanted me just up leave my dentures n her get back with me thing is I was lied to I wouldn't recommend anybody get dentures made from this place g
