Zahid Afzal

I was a patient for 3 years and nothing Afzal did offered me any relief for my "bowel disease." My biggest complaint is his seemingly robotic practice. He doesn't listen, he prescribes medication and sends you on your way. After digging through my medical files I discovered my bowel disease blood panel was all clear, when confronted he said my colonoscopy is what made him draw his conclusion. He is absolutely intolerant to the idea that he misdiagnosed me. Tens of thousands of dollars in treatments, pills and infusions over 3 years have done nothing. I feel ignored and no longer see Afzal. I have yet to see another GI. I lost trust in the entire system. We're just dollar signs.

don't know about the dr but his office answering staff needs to be replaced. spent 2 hrs on the phone oh hold just waiting to speak to a represensitive to schedule an appointment. Never got through.

I saw Dr. Afzal because of a positive Cologuard test which required a colonoscopy. I had a consult at his office in New Lenox and both he and his staff were very nice and thorough. I received both the colonoscopy and EGD at Silver Cross Hospital and everything went very well with no complications. Dr. Afzal explained everything before and after the procedures. Received my results and also thorough instructions for follow-up from Jamie his nurse.

I recently had a colonoscopy performed by Dr. Afzal. He was very comforting, intelligent and efficient. Hi staff is very caring. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Afzal. Dolores B.

Not good and suffering from colonoscopy procedure ever since. Chronic hemorrhoid problems with much pain. Never had problems like this prior to the procedure and will never do it again!

A doctor who cannot manage his schedule. Waited 45 minutes for the doctor. Front office staff chatting away. I would never use or recommend doctor who disrespects my time.

I found Dr Afzal to be very personable, professional, and polite, even shook my hand. Took the time to answer my questions so I could understand what was going on. Never felt rushed.

Absolute worst excuse for a doctor. His negligence was life threatening for my husband. He his a clear example of a doctor who looks as his patients as a number and not as loved one for someone else. Least caring doctor I have ever met in my life, horrible bed side manner. I would highly recommend ANY other doctor than Dr. Afzhal. Calls himself a "specialist" he could honestly not care less about his patients. I hope this review gets back to him and he shapes up, or grows a heart.

By far the least pleasant experience I've ever had with a doctor. His nurse is very rude and not good about getting back to you. Also I never get any appointments only get prescriptions written and sent to walgreens after I call and leave several messages regarding my symptoms and side effects from the strong drugs he seems to prescribe considering he never sees me. Having chrohns disease and a doctor who doesn't seem to care or have the time of day for you is beyond frustrating.
