Having visited for the first time I received a warm and very professional experience. Staff was friendly, helpful and kind. They were well organized. The x-ray staff member showed patience towards me demonstrating exactly how he wished I would best co-operate in order to get a positive response from the x-rays. Dr. Khan communicated a deep compassionte, knowledge and understanding re my case. Meeting him the first time I came away from this experience as though I had known Dr. Khan a long time. My appointments are well scheduled-I don't sit in a lobby for 35/45 minutes to see the doctor. Dr.Khan, first of all is approachable and personable. He listened to me without interrupting, he understood my concerns, he didn't rush me and he's knowledgeable in his field. I feel like Dr. Khan actually heard me and that's important to me- his assessment was spot on- no other Doctor has been able to assess my Back Pain problems as Dr. Khan has done. Not one. Dr. Khan and his team went above and beyond to make sure my dad got the care and surgery he needed. He had such a hard time getting his insurance to approve the surgeries but Dr. Kahn and his team did everything they could to make sure it was approved. He even took on a procedure that my dad was having a hard time getting done through another doctor’s office that we were having an absolute horrible time with. The staff was very friendly and helpful on going over everything and all my questions. And Doctor Khan was very polite and professional at explaining everything that was going on with me. I would highly recommend Coastline Orthopaedic to everyone I know.

Dr Khan answered my questions and gave me a couple of ways we could address my problems. I like to have more than one option if there is more than one. He was not in a hurry to move on to the next patient. Thank you Dr. Khan.

Dr. Khan is a blessing to the world. He's kind, caring, and very caring. Very honest and truthful. I've had back problems for many years, several back surgeries and Dr. Khan did my last operation in 2009. He is a very good surgeon.

Dr Zadar khan is a amazing surgeon. He performed 2 neck surgery and 1 back surgery and I'm about to have another back surgery. He is very knowledgeable in what he does and is gentle , kind, and patient. He explains to me everything thoroughly and answer any of my questions. I would never let anyone else operate on me only because I trust him 100%. Every surgery has been successful. I have degenerative discs so that is mostly the reason for so many surgery. But I know I'm in the best of hands and care with Dr. Khan. He is truly amazing in all he does.

After so many years,been seen by many doctors, Finally got diagnosed in JUST one visit with ZAFAR S Khan,MD.at coastal Orthopedic office,am so relieved & confident that on my next appointment I'll get the treatment needed, doctor ZAFAR let me see the actual x-rays & explained with all details my health condition. (which no doctors before did even at a well known hospital") I was diagnosed with multiple pinched nerve disks but only meds where given,got addicted to ,i stopped taking them 5 years AGO. Dr. Khan is a fantastic doctor that has been helping me since 2015. I am always satisfied leaving his office and especially after my surgery with him.

Dr Khan is awesome! He spent a good amount of time listening to me and then telling me what needed to be done. I trust him instinctively and his record proves that I can definitely trust him with my neck surgery. I'd give him 10 Stars if I could! Thanks Dr Khan!

My experience with Dr. Khan, is that he listened to everyone of my complaints and my questions. He gives a very detailed breakdown of what he feels is best for you. He is there to help you. He wants you to feel better. Almost as much as you want to. He does not rush through his evaluation of you. Dr. Khan did my back surgery 6 yrs. Ago and I have absolutely no complaints. I need surgery again (different area) I was so happy when I was able to have him do my next one coming up. Dr. Khan is very professional. Would highly recommend and have to anyone who needs a back and spine surgeon. Number one reason to see Dr. Khan the Doctor knows his stuff!!! And he will do right by you. His office goes way out to help with any situation. Dr Kahn answers all questions and does a great job on surgery. His PA is very helpful and understanding. I have had 3 surgeries and all went great

Amazing doctor! Attentive, friendly, answers questions throughly and the front office is great. They also take Health Net Covered CA with Prospect medical which sadly is not always the case with specialists. If you are having pain I highly recommend Dr. Zafar Kahn!

Dr. Zafar S. Khan performed brilliant surgery on my spine three weeks ago. I'm already walking my dog and running normal errands. I couldn't be happier with or more grateful for the results.

I’d had a lumbar injury for almost a year n I was miserable.. Dr Jafar Kahn’s office staff helped me through the process. They were all so kind and helpful above n beyond. Dr Jafar Kahn made me feel confidant that he could help me. And he DID!!!.., I am 2 months past my surgery and I feel Great!!! Perfect!!! I’m amazed and sooooo grateful. I had a severely ruptured disc on my L4-L5 and was referred to Dr. Khan by my primary care provider. When I saw him, I couldn’t stand straight, I couldn’t lay on my back nor my stomach, I would be in severe pain at the slightest movement, and I was walking like a duck to get anywhere. I stalked Dr. Khan online and found that he is THE BEST. He is decorated with excellence, he has taught so many other physicians and spoken in so many conferences. I was scared, of course, of surgery. But reading so much about it, delving into back pain forums on different websites, and watching YouTube videos and reading the comments, and of course after having tried physical therapy, chiro, acupuncture, massage, and other non-surgical remedies with no relief, I went ahead and agreed with surgery. The very same day, right when they wheeled me back to the car after surgery, I stood up straight. Even with the dooziness I was feeling after anesthesia and pain medication, I felt EXTREME GRATEFULNESS. After weeks of not being able to stand up, I am finally able to. I was so scared that I would be dependent on others, dependent on a wheelchair for a long time, but this surgery made those thoughts null and void. I cannot be more grateful and happy for Dr. Khan and his PA, Michael Ryan, Thrive Therapy PT, and the staff at Coastline Orthopedic Associates. After suffering neck and shoulder pain for so long I visited Dr. Khan. He ordered an MRI and i was given 2 course of treatments to choose from. I decided spine surgery would be my choice. I have been coming to see Dr Khan for about 6 years now at Coastline. Everyone there is great! The office is like a well oiled machine and everyone does their job well. Dr Khan is very professional. He explains things thoroughly and makes time for any questions I have. I never feel rushed or that my concerns don’t matter. He’s super patient and never pushy as I’ve been putting off fusion revisions for a couple years now. He’s also very friendly, we have shared a couple laughs at dumb comments I make. 2 neck fusions multiple levels few years apart… I would highly recommend getting a second opinion after visiting Dr.Khan. I was foolish not to get a second opinion the first time and even more foolish for allowing him to cut into me the second time. I didn’t even bother looking at ALL his reviews. Dr. Khan has poor bedside manner, is always in a rush and appears to have zero empathy.

Carpul tunnel surgery 4 days ago... I'm doing great! His bedside manner is genuine.. I'm happy

My mother recently had neck surgery by Dr. Khan to bring sensation back to her hands. She walked into the hospital for a 3 day turnaround and now does not have use of her legs. She's been in the hospital for over 11 days with no course of action to help her walk again. I would never recommend this surgeon to anyone. Please do research and find someone else. He has caused her quality of life to be extremely diminished. I wish I could give zero stars.

Dr. Khan and his Physician's Assistant are direct, kind and well versed in their field. I have degenerative disc disorder and prior to my last back surgery with him I was farm near bedridden from pain. His surgery has given me remarkable relief from the pain that off the charts. Now I am averaging between 5 & 7 on the pain chart. Great staff as well. They have always been very nice and professional. As far as wait times, his office is on par with most doctors. I know he is often double booked and sometimes triple booked, so that bring said, his wait time is remarkable. I have no regrets about going to see Dr. Khan.

Dr Khan is awesome! Extremely knowledgeable, professional and understanding. I’m headed toward my 3rd spinal fusion with him. I have disc disease and the discs won’t stop collapsing. He Takes great care and takes time and answers all my questions no matter how busy he is. I have complete faith in this Dr and his abilities bringing me to recommended him many times to others. PA, Ryan is also pretty awesome. As for the office, sometimes I wait a while and sometimes I’m in and out.

First of all, I could barely walk and I was in so much pain that major surgery was need to fix my L3 to S1 and he did a great job. So great that I was lifting weights in less than six months.

great bedside manner and as an RN I KNOW HE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I have had two microdisectomy with him and looking at a big surgery May 1st but know I am in great hands.

I have had back pain for many years. The pain has severely increased and I am having trouble walking. I was recommended to see Dr. Khan and am so pleased I did. He was able to provide me a diagnosis and has started me on a conservative treatment plan. He is friendly and his staff are great! Love this office!

Ive had cervical surgery and now 3 lumbar surgeries. On each occasions I have felt as though he has addressed each issue. He isnt the kind of Dr who will sit down and detail the surgery, you get thst info from the surgical report. But if you keep it real with him, he will respond and not ignore. I highly recommend them

Dr Khan is an amazing and talented surgeon and is thorough. He uses other methods of pain relief (injections, physical therapy, etc). He knows you and your case, you're not just a patient ID to him. I do recommend him to anyone who suffers from pain.

I had surgery with Dr.Khan in 2010. I was expecting 6 week recovery time but surgery was fast and smooth. I was ready to go back in 2 weeks...but he had me wait a little bit longer. If I had known he could fix me this easily then I wouldon't have done it years before. I was so scared of surgery. I never care about bedside manners as long as they are good at what they do. However, his bedside manner was a pleasant bonus. He went over all options prior to surgery and answered all of my questions.

Dr. Khan and his PA Brian are awesome! They have great bedside manner and spend time with you. My surgery on my Lumbar spine went well. Dr Khan took the time to explain everything to me and my family. I would definitely recommend Dr Khan to my family and friends. I actually already referred him to a friend!

Terrible experience. Came in for what I thought was a routine back surgery. I had a ruptured disc. Dr khan performed the surgery, which didn't go well. I had to have a 2nd surgery due to spinal fluid leaking from 1st surgery. 2 infections associated with the surgery. It's been 3 years since the surgery and I will never be able to run again...

Skilled surgeon. I am 4 wks. post op and doing terrific thanks to Dr. Kahn and his staff. If you want hand holding like a 5 year old go elsewhere. However, if you educate yourself with your particular injury (via internet) and have five dozen questions, the doctor or Brian (PA) is more than happy to patiently, kindly answer all your questions. Additionally, the office staff is very professional and competent (thanks again Brooke for understanding why I chickened out on initial surgery appt.).
