Dr. Zachary Carl Cohen

I met Dr. Cohen while suffering from debilitating thoracic pain (enthesopathy and spondylitis), after having tried a variety of unsuccessful treatment modalities (pain medications, physical therapy, chiropractic). Dr. Cohen provided much needed relief and care while ensuring that he listened and abided by my own well-researched concerns and suggestions while providing Radiofrequency Neurotomies/Ablations from T5-T9. I truly cannot recommend both this procedure and Dr. Cohen himself enough to patients suffering from similar circumstances!

Prescribed me a medication that I was already prescribed because he didn’t bother to check my records

I arrived at Dr. Cohen's office ten minutes late. I am normally very punctual, but encountered road construction for miles on Pomerado Rd. in Poway that delayed my arrival. My appointment was the first of the day. When I arrived, no other patents were in the reception area. I was told that I was to have completed a five-page packet that that I had not received via internet contact prior to my appointment. After waiting fifteen minutes, Dr. Cohen representative, Kirsten came to the reception window and told me that my appointment had been canceled because I was 10 minutes late and the packet I was to have had was not complete. I explained my circumstances, but she said I would have to re-schedule and return when the packet was completed. I am a 69-year-old prostate cancer prostate cancer patient on crutches due to pelvic metastasis. I was amazed at her dismissive manner and arrogant attitude. She acted like I needed to be punished. She represented the doctor poorly. I won't be back.

I have seen dr multiple times for severe migraine headaches without results. I am self paying for acupuncture which is very helpful. Insurance refuses to pay for this. I went to dr on seprember 8, 2021 to ask that he write a letter for me stating his treatments did not work. I said I would pick it up. He said he would but nothing has been done despite multiple phone calls and multiple not answering phone.

I've FINALLY found a pain management doctor who actually does something for me! My last doctor just put me on pain meds (and not enough to be very helpful) and sent me on my way. Dr. Cohen is actually DOING something for me - I've had a simple, quick procedure on my knee and now my knee is almost pain-free. He tested a device on my back pain, and it worked (HALLEULJAH!), so now he'll be doing a procedure that will take care of almost all of my back pain! I'm just so excited that I'm looking at the real possibility (probability) that I will be pretty close to pain-free in the very near future! Thank you so much, Dr. Cohen and all of your awesome staff!!

Pain specialists as a group are often sub par with inabilities to develop solid practices. They lack people skills, so they become pain specialists, which are in such short supply that even MDs with poor people skills can instantly have full practices. Zachary Cohen is a very well qualified doctor, a class act in all respects with first rate people skills. He is always personable and pleasant. Dr. Cohen has an excellent support staff and runs on time all the time. I feel very lucky that he has accepted me as a patient.

Dr. Cohen is exceptionally kind and compassionate. He understands my case completely and always speaks professionally. The only drawback is trying to get through on the phone or have someone call back after a message!

For eight years, I suffered from debilitating pain in my left leg. I saw more doctors and went through more tests than I can remember. Because a diagnosis couldn't be found and I was requiring monthly refills of Norco for the pain, I was referred to Dr. Cohen. I went to my first appointment with Dr. Cohen with a great deal of apprehension. Dr. Cohen took his time and answered all of my questions. He immediately diagnosed me with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome - one of the most painful conditions known to the medical community. I finally had some hope. Ultimately, I underwent surgery for placement of a Spinal Cord Stimulator by Dr. Cohen, and it has been a lifesaver. My need for opiates has decreased. Dr. Cohen is knowledgeable and patient. He listens and cares. He has been a lifesaver for me. His staff at the Escondido office is fantastic! I highly recommend Dr. Cohen for any patient suffering from chronic pain. He is simply the best!

I have lived with this terrible pain in my hips, back, groin and legs since 2003 with numerous Dr.'s unable to find the core problem. Dr. Cohn not only has the soothing bedside manner of a best friend but the patience to get to the root of my problem. I am not longer in dibilitating pain thanks to this gracious Dr. I recommend everyone in pain to this gentle Giant. He is amazing.

I have chronic pain issues for over five years! Dr Cohan has really taken an effort to help me and he listens to me his staff listens to me they are awesome! My pain is so better managed Also if you have problems remembering your appointments like I do they even have a reminder recording to tell you of your next appointment coming up which is awesome! I love that feature! You will not be disappointed I promise, I’m so happy I found Dr Cohan and I can’t thank him enough and his staff enough! Dr Cohen and his team(Ricky, Erin and Mark) are awesome. This is the first time in years that I am pain free. He has explored options that I have never been offered before.

Highly recommend Dr. Cohen. He listens, works out a pain plan that works and follows through. Only down side is he does not return calls and is hard to reach when needed. He gets 5 stars regardless

Yes, I highly recommend Dr. Cohen! He is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate and a good listener. I see many different patients waiting for treatment and I notice he is a doctor for all the people. Ricky, Mark, and Erin are organized, efficient, and eager to please everyone that walks in this small and busy office. You can see that they work as a team and are accommodating. Today Erin handled a call and provided the patient with a much needed appointment and solution to her dilemma. I've been coming to this office for over a year with about a dozen office visits. I have observed the activities of the running of this office. Look no further for another pain care office, Dr. Cohen and his staff are the best.

I was referred to Dr. Cohen from my PCP for low back pain. At my first appointment when I was talking to Dr. Cohen I told him that from time to time I also had testicular pain. He took the time to really listen to what was going on with me, I never felt rushed in his office, he did a full physical assessment of my pain and afterwards he said he knew exactly what procedure would most likely get rid of all of my pain. He set me up for one injection into my low back that would hopefully take care of my low back and testicular pain. The thought of having an injection into my back was a little anxiety provoking but he reassured me. The injection was way easier than I had anticipated and within a few days my low back pain was gone! My testicular pain hasn’t come back either! It's been about three months and the pain is still gone. I can play basketball pain free, something I had not been able to do previously. I have another follow up appointment scheduled with Dr Cohen and I look fo

My mom kept experiencing this pain and numbness sensation down her right arm and no one could figure out what was going on with her. She went to several specialists before she was referred to Dr. Cohen. At the first appointment he said he thought he knew what was causing the pain and he had a plan to help fix it. He was able to get my mom in shortly thereafter for a cervical epidural procedure and after that procedure her pain and numbness have disappeared. It’s incredible because now she can play and lift up her grand son without experiencing any pain. Moreover, Dr. Cohen never made my mom feel rushed when he was with her , she said he made her feel “Like he had all the time in the world” and when I called his office to get more information on this neck procedure he took the time to call me back himself and explain it to me which really made me feel at ease. I don’t have any pain myself but if I ever have pain I know who I would go see.

dr cohen is , caring, professional, open minded, quick to plan the action for your care, stops and listens to you and will spend all the time he needs with you even if he has an office full of patients waiting fore their appointment. His office staff are the best. Polite, caring, willing to go the extra mile to help you. im blessed to have found him

Dr. Zachary Cohen is the best. He was recommended to me by three friends I walk with. I have seen multiple pain doctors in San Diego and he was the first one to show me my MRI and explain it to me. He performed a radio frequency ablation on me, I needed no sedation for it and it was painless. I would say 95% of my back pain is gone and I feel great. It does take a little while to get in to see him but after meeting him and him fixing my back pain I understand why and it was well worth the wait.

Dr. Cohen is awesome but his office staff will drive you to look for another provider. Staff doesn’t return calls, screws up medication refills, phone calls go to voice mail the majority of the time, and if you do get through, you are met with an attitude. The staff has a completely different attitude when you are there in person, when Dr. Cohen is present. Mistakes happen but every time you have an interaction is frustrating and unexceptable to me!
