I concur with all of the reviews saying Dr. Wolny does not have very good bedside manner and is very rushed. She did not notify me that I needed to schedule an annual appointment in order to get my birth control refilled until I tried to a few days ago. My pharmacy faxed her office twice, to no response. I asked to schedule a telehealth appointment yesterday for 7:45 and was scheduled in. It gets to 8:45 and am told she’s “running behind” and I can push it to today at 6 pm. I call after 30 minutes passes with no contact and the office is closed with no one to handle my call. Extremely unprofessional, go anywhere else. do not go here. I did not feel comfortable here at all. I also never received my testing results. I called and left multiple messages and nobody ever got back with me. They don't list their actual hours anywhere and don't answer their phones.

Dr Wolny has been my dr for almost 15 years now. She is an amazing dr, extremely knowledge, excellent bedside manners, very professional and very friendly! I have had nothing but positive experiences with her and would recommend her anytime. I drive 4h to Chicago every time I have to see her (moved out of the city a year ago). She is always available to answer any questions I have! Recently I did a second procedure with her and have had amazing results! Dr. Wolny is absolutely fantastic as a practitioner and I felt completely comfortable and at ease the moment I walked through her office door. The front desk staff is friendly, helpful and caring and Dr. Wolny is nothing short of amazing as a doctor. Dr. Wolny does not offer patients trauma-informed care and is insensitive to the needs of LGBTQ+ clients. My time with her has had an incredibly negative impact on my perception of OB/GYN providers and has made me hesitant to seek future care. If you have experienced sexual trauma or are a member of the LGBTQ+ community, consider scheduling with another provider.

Please do not see this doctor if you care about your health. Stay far away. I am writing this from my personal experience.

I had a horrid experience with Dr. Wolny despite the many other reviews I saw on Google. I am relatively new to Chicago and had an urgent situation so I did not think to read reviews about her before booking an appointment and I learned my lesson. I saw Dr. Wolny for a total of six minutes. I was never asked about my family history until she questioned why I was so adamant about getting a pap smear, and that should have been a huge red flag as I have had to get additional tests due to a family history of cervical and ovarian cancers. She also dismissed my concerns and instead just referred me out to another doctor to get tests for an issue that, if it was what she told me it is, would have killed me three months ago. It was obvious she was just trying to get me in and out as soon as possible. I have never felt so unheard and humiliated by a doctor before. I left in tears because I am scared, felt ignored by a doctor, and now have to take on additional steps to get this issue sorted out by someone else. I have seen Dr Wolny for at least 7 years, and I appreciate how efficient and business-like she always is. Appts are timely and you don't waste a moment during your visit.

I have been seeing Dr Wolny for years as my gynecologist. She performed my fibroid surgery (myomectomy) in 2016 and I still marvel at how much quality of life improves after I recovered. She is meticulous in her work, communicative about her recommendations for tests or lab work. I feel fortunate to be under her care. UPDATE Jan 2020: Dr. Wolny performed a LEEP procedure on me to remove some precancerous lesions from my cervix. I reiterate how meticulous she is in her work and in the care that she gives her patients. She asks questions and truly listens to my responses. Without a doubt, one of the kindest and most compassionate people and healthcare providers I have met in my lifetime. She always listened, and was very responsive to my health questions and concerns. Dr. Wolny is a skilled physician and the care I received from her and the staff of her practice was always of the highest quality.

So... I made an appointment on zocdoc for 5:30 with Dr. Wolny. I called at 4pm to confirm and the woman told me they are leaving early (it was a Friday), and that they wouldn’t see anyone after 5pm. I was confused as to why the doctors office would post a 5:30 slot on that day, if that wasn’t an option... I told them I would leave work early then, and be there by 5pm. 10 minutes later the secretary called me back and told me they’d have to reschedule my appointment because the doctor was doing a “procedure”. Sure she was..... looks like they really wanted to get out early that day. I’m very disappointed with this doctor and her lack of professionalism. Not to mention just the general lack of human decency for patient care. Please consider the bad reviews she has on help before you see her. I unfortunately dismissed her bad ratings on yelp and other sites because I thought, "who could be THAT bad?" Well.. she is THAT bad. From the moment I walked into the office it was terrible- when I observed Dr. Wolny's receptionist handing patients other peoples paperwork. When the nurse first led me into the doctors office to be examined the room dirty from the last patient- there were "juices" from the last women that was on the table... then the nurse constantly called me the wrong name no matter how many times I told her my name. Then I noticed that the walls are paper thin and you can hear every single word that is going on in the rooms next to you. When the Dr. came in she didn't introduce herself or even make eye contact with me. She mumbled so softly and quickly that it was hard to make out anything she was saying. I had to ask her multiple times to repeat herself and she would just ignore me and keep talking. Then when it came time for her to examine me she had no idea where her tools were and ran around the office looking for them. She barely even examined me or asked me what was wrong. I am incredibly disappointed with my experience being a patient of Dr. Wolny. When I first saw her last year, it was apparent that her priority is getting through as many appointments as quickly as possible - when I asked questions, her responses were rushed and distracted. This year, I saw that my birth control prescription needed to be renewed. When I called Dr. Wolny's office, I was told they would not renew my prescription because I had not been in for a required annual appointment. However, I was never notified that I was due for an appointment - in fact, I was told I was covered for 3 years at my 2017 appointment. When I pushed back, I was told this was a "new policy", to which I again responded that I had not been notified of this policy and thus would never have known that I needed to make an appointment. I then asked for a 1 month refill to cover me until I could get an appointment (something I've never been denied by another doctor), and they refused. This practice seems to be lacking basic communications and customer service skills, which is irresponsible for a health care provider. I will not be going back. I absolutely love Dr. Wolny! After 20 years of chronic pain and doctors that didn't know how to treat my problems effectively besides pain meds to mask the issues, she was able to completely take away my pain and endless monthly suffering. It’s always sensitive to find a new GYN, but Dr. Wolny makes it such an easy experience. She’s straight to the point & will talk with you about your worries and thoroughly about treatment and what’s going on generally. It was a very quick visit and I felt heard in addition to being well taken care of.

I would only rate her five stars if it were negative five. 1.Terrible bedside manner, did not hear or care to listen to my concerns. 2. Sent my information to lab corp when I explicitly explained to her that I am only covered for the basic examination and my insurance does not cover additional labs. 3. Does not take responsibility for her mistake, but I did. Lets start with the labs. When I first had my appointment with her I expressed that my insurance only covers the basic examination. I knew this because I found out the hard way from my last general doctors visit at a different place entirely. The doc sent in labs, I received a large bill and I took responsibility by paying. I knew not to do it again. I made my initial appointment with Wolny (that was a headache with in itself that I don't care to go into detail about. I'll just say I should have picked up on the signs that screamed lack of organization & professionalism). She ignore me when I stressed to her that I am not covered for labs by sending in a request for labs and further tests anyways.. I sent several emails and had many conversations between her and labcorp. I discussed with her my frustration and she claimed she would rectify the situation and refund me and/or even pay for it herself - but talk is cheap (and I guess documenting emails don't matter to her) and she never returned my calls and I have made the last payment today (November 13th 2017) and this was from March of 2017! As far as beside manner goes.. she has not a shred of it. I was going through a health concern and situation that was very taxing emotionally and physically during the time and she was so cold and rude. As a means to preserve my personal information and situation I will say that it was like this; when you're watching the news and your being fed information on a mass shooting or something else that very sad and gripping and all of a sudden they rudely interrupt this story with the ill timed laughter of the anchor accompanied by a holiday story on cute puppies. No Tact. Whatsoever. Finally taking responsibility.. if she would have at least kept her word, which is documented, I would not be writing this review. Plain and simple. If you screw up - take responsibility. OWN UP. The only reason I would go back there is if she is handing me a refund check for the bill I received and paid to labcorp. This was the worst doctor experience I have ever had. I sent three emails and called the office three times to request a copy/receipt of my visit. Once I finally got a response, they asked why I was requesting it (even though I had already stated it and it should not matter at all why I was requesting it). I saw Dr. Wolny for two years. She's fine for routine exams and general OBGYN. If anything abnormal pops up, or you have to have a serious conversation about your health, I'd recommend going somewhere else. After a recent diagnosis, Dr. Wolny's staff was extremely unprofessional and unsupportive of my concerns/questions. Dr. Yvonne Wolny is phenomenal. She totally gets me and my worries and concerns and treats me extremely well. Her assistant is an absolute angel as well. I am so grateful for their brilliant care.

She is a great doctor. I long waiting time after arrival for the appointment and ability to schedule for the same week are great advantages! Also her stuff is friendly and helpful!

They kept charging me incorrectly!!! They were very unresponsive when it came to the billing issue.

There is never anyone to answer the phone, left messages no one calls back. I tried to get a nurse or someone at the office to look at my chart there was no one capable of doing that at the time of my call. My second visit to Dr Wolny I requested a refill on a medication she had prescribed before, she didn't know what it was because she didn't write down in my chart, I explain to her what the medication was when I went to pick it up she had prescribed antibiotics, wrong medication
