Dr. Kumbkarni is an excellent doctor with a compassionate and knowledgeable bedside manner. What I appreciated most is his intention to listen to my concerns and address them in a way that gave me peace of mind. He is kind and has a great sense of humor that puts you at ease. I am so happy to have found him since recently moving to Florida from Texas!

Dr. Kumbkarni is welcoming and calming. He is always polite, explains where we are with my care, and recommends what I could do better and what I am doing right. Dr. Kumbkarni is extremely knowledgeable and I trust his professional opinion.

This was the first time that my 87-year old Mom needed an Endocrinologist. We were treated so respectfully and Dr. Kumbkarni's bedside manner was so calm and non-rushing. Truly amazing! In our experience, the office staff was very polite and professional as well. I cannot express enough of how much he listened to our concerns for my Mom and helped us problem-solve her medical needs with true empathy and professionalism.

Dr. Kumbkarni has always been great during appointments, taking his time to make sure all of my questions were answered. I'm generally a happy and satisfied patient of his. With that being said, the office staff has been consistently incompetent or ineffective to the point of needing to search for a new doctor. It's been several months in a row where I have needed my pharmacy to release an emergency supply of thyroid medication and then still missing at least one dose because the office staff doesn't approve the refill, even after multiple follow-up calls on my end. Dr. Kumbkarni set me up for a 90-day refill at my last appointment specifically to avoid situations like this but that change still hasn't occurred, as we do this prescription dance every month and I'm tired of it. The last straw was their emergency weekend representative flatly refusing to help, saying that they weren't even allowed to forward a message over the holiday weekend and that I would need to deal with the side effects of missing my medication and call back on Monday. I'm missing doses of a critical medication due to lack of effort or follow-through from the staff that is now bordering on negligence /malpractice and I'm tired of it. Get it together before a patient dies. I'll be taking steps to make sure that patient isn't me. Dr.Kumbkarni and Mrs Lisa Gavosto APRN,NP-C are very nice and they truly care about your health so please do what they ask of you to do. If your hard headed like me sometimes I don't and I regret it . So don't be like me . If you follow what they ask of you you will be safer and healthier going forward. Also the entire staff is terrific I always look forward to coming to my appointments and seeing the progress I've made. Even when I slip they encourage me to keep trying. Diabetes is very serious so listen and make the changes. I'm lucky to have these folks helping me with my journey. I have Going to see Dr. Kumbkarni probably more than 10 years i usually see Lisa and I love them both, the are caring ❤ and listen to the patient, I really love them both, they are always there for you and the staff is amazing. For many years I have been looking for an endocrinologist and I was lucky to find them.

The office staff is rude and incompetent. They constantly sending the wrong medication and are rude about it when I called to get the right one. I have never not had to call for or five times to get something done. There is no management in place. Doctor Kumbkarni was once an effective and caring doctor. He is now apathetic and behind the times with no interest in improving. This practice is now where healthy people go to die. The office staff is rude and incompetent. They have a new location beautiful office time wait 30mins. Our 2nd visit Dr K found my dad's issue and now he is being treated. Dr Very informative on the issue & on my dad's sent medications. Staff very friendly and office cleaned.

Ive been meaning to find a different provider for a while - I’ve just been too lazy, but I don’t want to deal with this provider anymore. First of all, the parking situation is terrible. It’s extremely difficult to find parking. Yes, they offer valet, but I can’t always valet because of certain possessions I keep in my vehicle and the one time I did valet I waited for over 15 minutes to get my car back. If you don’t want to valet, plan to spend 20-30 minutes looking for an open parking space (& this has been an issue long before the new construction). My last appointment was a virtual appointment and the doctor called me over an hour after my scheduled appointment time - I had to call multiple times to make sure he was still planning on calling me.. Today I spent 20 minutes on hold trying to schedule a follow up appointment for my medication. I’ve been seeing this provider for years and I’ve never had an issue scheduling follow ups.. but following my 20 minute wait, I was initially speaking to Cynthia (she was polite), but she placed me on another hold and Alexa rudely picked up the line. Alexa was nasty in explaining to me that she couldn’t schedule an appointment for me until I had my blood work completed, which has never been an issue. I’ve always scheduled my appointments prior to getting my blood drawn at another FMC location & they have the results in 3-4 business days. After being nasty she scheduled an appointment for me.. but the rudeness just wasn’t called for. There are plenty of providers (including primary care doctors) who can see you for a thyroid issue. Dr. Kumbkarni is a very kind and caring doctor. Both he and his staff take their time to explain the health issues I am seeing them for.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kumbkarni for over 4 years. He is knowledgeable, empathetic, always listens to my problems/issues and coordinates with other doctors in his team @ FMC as well for my health issues. His bedside manners are one of the best I’ve seen in last 20 years. I continue with him because he has truly cared for and has helped me to get better which has been very hard for me on my own. There used to be parking problems at his office but not anymore since they built the parking garage. However to get excellent health care from a doctor like Dr. Kumbkarni I didn’t mind much even when there was a parking problem. I see him every 3-4 months so this review is not based on 1 or 2 visits but on my experience with him over several visits. I recommend him 100%. I’ve been seeing Dr. Kumbkarni for over 4 years. In response to Vance below, the old office manager had no people skills, and as such he is gone! The new office manager who replaced the miserly one is a good balance of business and understanding. Dr Kumbkarni is very kind, and easy to work with. As far as getting refills, I will say you may have to call twice and ask for the office manager to get it done. But the doctor has excellent bedside manner. I recently went and they added a new female doc, Dr. Barczy. I like her because she’s smart and treats the patient, not their lab numbers, which in my case is great because I don’t always fit in the “norm.” In response to Vance below, the old office manager had no people skills, and as such he is gone! Dr. Kumbkarni himself is a fantastic, kindly professional. Our primary nurse, Lauren was incredible until she left. The medical staff have all been great. The front office folks were friendly, but uneven is service, especially with refills. Apparently there has been a shakeup since the staff now is extraordinarily friendly and the refill issues seem to have gone away. Now, lets talk about what is really important, diabetes control. While Doctor Kumbkarni is an excellent medical professional. His staffing however, ruins his practice. I've been a patient for several years and I am fed up with as often as I've struggled to get a refill. My pharmacy contacted Kumkarni's office for a refill authorization, and they never heard back. I called Doctor Kumbkarni's office directly and I was told they would get it processed. They never follow through with getting my prescription . His office staff frequently fails at their job. If rated by the “medical” staff only, it would be a five, alas it must be rated as a whole. It’s located in a completely unsuited building which makes visits painful. Vastly unsuitable, inadequate parking that is forced to be served by a valet service or no one would ever get in. The office staff seems to operate under the system “if question number three, give answer seven”, rather than trying to solve the patients concern. This applies to both phone and in person. The waiting area is harsh, uncomfortable. You should not hear about everybody’s copay. If you need there service they are A1. I have been seeing Dr. Kumbkarni since 2013, he is a wonderful Dr. His staff is always on top of things and they are all very pleasant. I look forward to my visits at his office.

I've not had a problem parking at his new location and never had a problem with the office staff both on the phone and in person. Perhaps the person was having a bad day...shouldn't bring it into work, but we all human after all. Just a thought.

Dr Kumbkarni is an excellent endocrinologist. I've been to several endocrinologist and so far hes the best! My A1C is now on goal! Thanks to his expertise in managing Diabetes.

Dr. Kumbkarni is a wonderful physician. He and his staff are very professional, polite and attentive. They always listen to concerns and answer questions thoroughly and thoughtfully. Dr. Kumbkarni said he would help me lower my A1C and he has done just that! I feel comfortable asking questions and discussing plans for my medical condition. Referred to Kumkarni by my primary for thyroid issues. He diagnosed me with hashimotos and had to have thyroidectomy for large begnign tumors. I'm six month post surgery and still have terrible symptoms of hypothyroidism. I can't get him to listen to me and his office staff just asks what my symtoms are! Help!!!! I've made an appt with different Endocrinologist but can't get in for three months! Very frustrating.

I had the opportunity to visit this office and physician last week. I'm not sure what kind of people give reviews here but, I'm upfront. The office was clean, the staff was appropriate, my appointment was on time. The PA was very nice and this doctor was very good, I felt. I do have a follow up and will update that appointment as well. FMC is a very good group and follow up on their offices all the time. I will continue with this office.

This Doctor might be good - if you ever saw him. You've got office staff relaying changes in medication dosages and lab results to you. I could go on, but trust me - there are plenty of other endocrinologist s out there. Find one with a good nurse practitioner that can actually talk to you.

Physician is unable and unwilling to thoroughly explain abnormal lab results. Dismisses and invalidates patient concerns or questions. Office manager will not respond professionally to any patient concerns. I absolutely believe Dr. Kumbkarni is a good person, but have no confidence in his skills as a physician.

Lauren Sosdorf is they best!!! Everyone else however is incompetent. After weeks of phone calls and one face to face appointment my medication was still not filled and several phone calls later I found the wrong prescriptions were filled.

I had an appointment today with this doctor, where I have been a patient for quite some time. When I checked in for my appointment, after driving an hour to get to the office, I was informed by the "office manager" that I owed $42.00 and could not see the doctor until this was paid. I tried to make arrangements, even offered my debit card number to be charged on May 3 when I get paid and was told I could not see the doctor until the balance is paid. I suffer from numerous chronic illnesses and prior to Medicare payments, my medical costs are in excess of $70,000 per year. I can't imagine that my $42 past due balance would do any more to inconvenience this office any more than a couple of trips to Starbucks. The doctor and medical staff are amazing and I have had nothing but good experiences with each of them. However, the front office leaves much to be desired, especially the cold hearted "office manager" who puts a $42 balance as a higher priority than patient care. As much as I like the medical staff, I am now forced to find a new endocrinologist. I would suggest that Dr. KumbKarni look closely at his front office staff and help them to realize that patient care should be a priority and some patients will need some help with financing their fees.
