I didn't see Dr. Wismer I seen Paula the PA. She was amazing. I had a few tests done . I waited for a call with results 6 weeks later I had called the office they had not gotten back to me...said my results weren't in my file. I'm not sure who's to blame for this...but had more tests ordered...and it took them 3 weeks to place the order.... i really like the PA but the office staff is basically illiterate and unprofessional in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend this office. I wish Paula would relocate because she's way to good to be in that office. Just sayin.

I received a call from Dr Wismer’s office three hours before my scheduled colonoscopy and EGD saying they had to cancel my surgery because someone in the office failed to follow up with my cardiologist for approval due to the anesthesia. This after fasting the day before, taking 64 oz of prep and having my wife schedule time off from work to accompany me to the hospital. I should have done more research and read several of the unfavorable reviews regarding the staff’s incompetence. I’ll drive the two plus hours to my original doctor in Ohio which I should have done in the beginning.

Had a colonoscopy scheduled for a year on the books, called the office 1 week prior to confirm and ask for my script, they confirmed and sent script to pharmacy. I called next day to see if COVID test is needed, it was not and confirmed appt. again for Monday. I called next day to ask about prep, I was transferred and told they had to reschedule because Dr. Wismer sees patients out of town on Mondays. The girl then chuckled and said a letter went out you must not have received it. NOT HAPPY, had I not called the third day, I would have prepped, missing Easter dinner and showed up at hospital for procedure just to be turned away.

He left me instructions for an endoscopy and then left an Rx for a colonoscopy. What kind of trust does that engender? Needless to say, I have chosen a different doctor.

I wanted a second opinion and needed my files sent to other doctor.. Staff never did it.. I asked for suggestions for a diet to follow and the answer was go Google it! I would never have any procedure done at MCH- Wismer seems like a nice person but his follow-up is terrible and his staff is lazy

Dr. Wismer basically let my father wilt away from Colitis, while he waited 4 months for a new medication suggested from an appointment in July 2021. During this waiting period he never followed up and never once scheduled an appointment to see my father to see how he was doing while in wait. My dad called weekly, asking for help, but was told to "drink more water", when he was suffering from diarrhea every 20 minutes of everyday for 4 months straight. By the time the infusion was approved, he could barely walk anymore. First infusion was completed early September, he has had 2 infusions since. Not one single follow up to see how my dad was doing, from the medication HE prescribed. Needless to say, now that he's back on his feet, my dad is not going back to him and neither should anyone else if they slight concerns with their heath, because his neglect can turn them into major concerns!

Follow up office visit after endoscopy. Nothing found except I have acid reflux. I asked about what I could do to address the acid reflux and he just said we'll see you in another 5 years. He was not interested in answering any questions and after 60 seconds was leading me out towards the lobby. Typical Erie doctor. That's why we've begun going to Cleveland Clinic and UPMC Pittsburgh. At least you'll be treated with respect there.

Excellent! Been my doctor for 6 years. Upper & lower scopes. Caring, understanding, & knowledgeable. You won’t find a better doctor!

What a nice Dr. Seems very caring and knowledgeable in his field. Went to other Erie Dr. for years but he never followed up on when my next scope should be and his bedside manners sucked. So glad I switched and you will also :)

Dr. Wismer is very knowledgable, has a great demeanor and made me feel very comfortable. I felt very confident in his ability to do the procedures.
