William Sydney Whyte II

He falsely accused my wife of being rude to his staff. Seems to be a common thing .He sent a letter to her and quite arrogantly to her primary physician of why he was dropping her as a patient. He just lost two patients.

Unfortunately I join the ranks of the 1 star reviewers. These people DO NOT care. I had (according to Dr. Whyte) a bone spur growing in my spine which was causing my pain. He said he could give me injections. He said maybe 3 and they have to be done so many weeks apart to work. Had my first one. I called to schedule my 2nd one and was told their machine was broken. A few months went by, still broken. So my first injection literally lasted 2 days. I’d call…no return calls. They literally do not care!! Then I finally heard from them but it was only to tell me I owe them $50. I paid it and asked was that my final balance…yes. A couple months went by and I got another bill for $17. New staff is more attentive and takes care of mediation refills in a timely manner! Dr. Whyte is by far the most knowledgeable Spine Specialists in Shreveport,LA by takeing a more therapeutic approach to help with pain. He makes sure the necessary insurance requirements are meet to help you get the care you need!

Sadly this is the worst we have ever been cancelled for appointments and have drove 2 hours away! They have called several times also to reschedule this appointment because Dr Whyte decides to not come to work and is not seeming to care about his patients. Think twice before scheduling your time to not see this doctor.

I was treated like a junkie. Staff is rude. Acts like he's superior to any other pain physician. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

My sister was a first time patient. The Dr could be heard yelling at the nurse before he entered the room. Once he came in the room with my sister, he was very rude. He was asking her questions one after another, my sister asked him to not use a rude tone with her and give her some time to respond to the questions. Several years back, Dr. Whyte diagnosed my herniated disc. After I couldn’t take the injections, the home traction device turned out to be a game-changer for me at relieving my pain. Each time I use it I am so thankful for this option and his PT that helped me learn how to use it.

I had jaw surgery so I went to my pain mgt appointment for jaw pain (6 Aug). I saw the nurse who told me that they did not treat jaw pain. She told me that they treat only back and neck pain. I said are you sure? So she went to Dr Whyte to ask him. She came back and said that they did not treat jaw pain. I left. I was not seen by Dr Whyte at all. I complained to my PCM about the treatment that I received. He called Dr Whyte. Dr Whyte said that they do treat jaw pain. Dr Whyte evidently told my PCM that I was only looking for pain pills. Dr Whyte is ignorant of the facts. Absolutely absurd statement to make about me especially since we have never talked or met. If it is the case that they do treat jaw pain then why was I turned away from treatment? Very poor service. I will not go back again. Horrible nurse who just doesn't know what she is doing. Love Dr Whyte and his staff!!! He helped my Mother with leg pain and tried very hard to help my back pain. He tried a series of shots in the spine . First shot was wonderful , no pain !! 2 and 3 did nothing . After that he sat me down and said he would have to send me to a back specialist. By the time I got to the back specialist my pain just disappeared!!! This has been probably 5 years ago and still no pain at all. Praise the Lord . The office staff, nurses, and the doctor is friendly and polite. And will answer all your concerns. No problems whatsoever.

Dr whyte always explains things to me in a way I can understand and takes him time while in the room. He doesn’t leave until he knows all my questions are answered. He has really helped me understand my back condition and relieve most of my pain. I have recommended him to several family members.

In 2004 I herniated the L5-S1. I've had 4 major back surgeries since then, including a fusion in 2015. I was to the point I could barely stand due to pain. I was referred to Dr. Whyte who sent me for a new MRI. After results he immediately recommended a SCS implant. All the nerves from the L5 down are damaged from previous surgeries and scar tissue, he had never seen so much scar tissue around a spine before. Since the implant in July 2018 I have had a 90% pain reduction and can live my life again! Dr. Whyte was very nice and took the time to explain everything. His staff is also very nice. If you are considering seeing Dr Whyte, DO NOT GO! I cannot warn you enough!!! I was referred there by another specialist who I am seeing for diffused nerve damage. I drove 2 hrs to see him, waited 2.5 hrs in waiting room. The nurse called me back and I simply explained to her my symptoms and X-ray, CT, and MRI reports. She then went to speak to dr whyte. He then walked in and accused me of being rude to his nurse. He would not let me speak. He proceeded to say how his time was more important than mine and that I need to leave; he was not going to see me. His belittling went on for a good 5 minutes and my mother was a witness to all of this. He greatly insulted my character and intelligence. Even the ladies at the front desk were very disrespectful. I am a registered nurse who specializes in emergency care for over 12 years and I have never seen a doctor speak to a patient in such a way. I did read 50, I counted them 50, negative reviews of dr whyte and found a license reenstatement prior to seeing him which was a major red flag for me, but I decided to see him since my referring doctor spoke so highly of him. So, believe what you read and beware. He is a waste of YOUR time; not his. Do not go!!! He was the first Dr to really help me in along time,

After two years of pain from a spinal fusion surgery performed in 2009, I finally went back to my neurosurgeon. He ordered an MRI and xray and on my follow-up appointment said that there was nothing wrong. BS. So I sought out Dr. Whyte for a second opinion. I brought my MRI disc and he instantly spotted the problem (chronic active radiculopathy from eupidural fibrosis). The MRI was performed at the same hospital as my neurosurgeon, which "coincidentally" mentioned nothing of the nerve root entrapment from the scar tissue. Dr. Whyte threw out the report and diagnosed me correctly and has begun taking the necessary steps to give me my life back. From the receptionists to the nurses and the doctor himself, I have been treated wonderfully and with care. DO NOT GO! I cannot warn you enough! He wrongfully accused me of being rude to his nurse which I was not. I had simply explained to the nurse my symptoms and tests results. He would not let me speak and did not care what I had to say. He arrogantly said, "my time is more important than yours. You've wasted my time. I will not see you. Leave." Staff and dr did not tell me to bring disk of MRI with all the other paperwork they asked for. Dr came in room yelling that I wasted 45 minutes of his time for nothing. Front desk rescheduled in Shrevport drove 1 1/2 there to be told my appointment was cancelled due to non conforming at last appointment. If I would have been told to bring disk I sure would if I brought everything else with me. This guy seems to be in it for no one but him and thinks he can treat people so bad. Well he is wrong. I would not go back. His waiting room is always packed, the desk clerks are inattentive, leave their stations for an extended period of time, the wait time is usually an hour or more, (for patients in pain), and Dr. Whyte conducts procedures without evidence from an MRI or X-ray--or at least he did no me. When I insisted on an MRI, he referred me for one. The MRI came out normal, but he had been treating me for L5-S1 problems. Two weeks later, he sent a registered, unsigned letter dropping me.

I am not finished with him, but so far he seems to be doing a great job of resolving my issues without surgery or longterm medication. Which is what I wanted. Everyone else was quick to recommend surgery and/or medication (pills).
