06/06/09 this crazy date was when I had gotten into a horrific motorcycle accident that there was no way I should’ve lived from let alone walk away from. I don’t remember much that happen after getting into the back of the ambulance after waking up then going out again. When I woke up and was finally somewhat conscience, all I heard was Dr Tontz Jr. voice he said to me,” don’t worry, I will take good care of you.” To me, it sounded as an angel had spoken to me. Dr Tontz Jr. kept his words and took very great care of me, and the crazy part about it is that my medical had just expired a month prior and I don’t even realize it. Jr. and Sr. Both took care of all my surgeries which I believe was 4, I did not know how in the world I was going to be able to pay for all of that medical bill, but Jr. made things work and gave me a second chance to walk again with my own leg instead of giving up and cutting it off. I will never forget his voice, because when I heard it I had tears which was something very hard for me to do. If your reading this both Dr Tontz, thank you so much for giving me this second chance at life and not giving up on me! His very good, he listened, if I msg dr Tontz he answer within minutes. I feel good with his care very friendly the people he work with are very nice ???? Their facility are clean and quite . It’s always been great so far.??

My experience with this doctor was both apathetic and ill-informed. I would suggest patients explore their options before heading into this clinic. Aside from the interactions with this doctor, the facility itself is horrific. It is not kept and maintained for the volume of patients being seen. My first engagement with this facility started in September of 2019. Getting the first appointment with this gentleman took six weeks. He only practices one day a week. After getting the runaround and finally seeing him, he never made me feel like he was interested in treating me. He also didn't submit the proper referrals or notate my consultation with accurate information, so when I made my follow up via phone, they had no record of what he instructed me to do. His office twice submits my referrals inaccurately. It's a shame there are medical professionals out there that are not professional. If you have the ability, see someone else. This doctor is just an insurance assembly line/factory.

This is not about Dr. Tontz since I never saw him. I called 8/27 and the first appointment I was able to get was today 9/25. I received 1 call about my insurance. I went today and could not be seen because of my insurance since it was a car accident. The office said they tried calling I never received any other messages

Consulted Dr Tontz for cervical surgery, ACDF. He confirmed that I was a candidate for fusing three vertabra. The surgery was performed at Scripps Mercy in Hillcrest. That was close to home for me and I was treated well by the entire hospital staff. I highly recommend Dr Tontz and his flexibility to perform the procedure at a location convenient to you. While I have no problem with Dr. Tontz, I cannot say the same for his assistant. I cannot get her to respond to my requests or return phone calls when I ask her to do so. It's been two weeks since the last time I asked her to relay a message to Dr. Tontz regarding a referral to another Dr. The time before I asked for something I had to ask for a supervisor after three weeks of no response. Then it took another three weeks to get an appointment.

I have been seeing dr Tontz for the 5 years. He's the best doctor, patient, listens to your concerns. Caring of your well being. I totally have faith in his hands. thank you dr Tontz

I had two surgeons for my injury. Dr. Tontz listen to what I was saying and looked at my MRI. He said with a certain amount of confidence, he could relieve a lot of my symptoms. He also sent me for a second opinion, to put me at ease about the decision I was going to make.I feel it was the best for my injury. No more numbness and chronic pain any more .Thanks again. P.S. Dr Tontz performed a three vertebra ACDF cervical fusion 6 moths ago. He has privileges at several hospitals and was able to come to Hillcrest Scripps Mercy to perform the surgery. Convenient for me and I have had three good experiences at this hospital in the past year. The surgery was successful and the occasional discomfort in my neck (from other discs not fused) is remedied by tylenol. I cannot see a scar any longer. Liked his manners as a Dr and a person. He listened and answered.

Dr Tontz is an awesome surgeon with a great staff.

Last November I suffered multiple lumbar spine fractures caused by severe osteoporosis. Being referred to Dr. Tontz was the best thing that could have happened to me. In the first and subsequent consultations, he listened, reassured me, and communicated clearly with me and my family. The surgery was a success, and Dr. Tontz was thorough in his follow ups, as well as with his prescriptions. Only six months after Kyphoplasty surgery I am mobile ( even swimming), energetic, and optimistic again.
