Dr. William Douglas Thomas II

I was switching primary care physicians so I went to see dr Thomas. As it turned out I was billed as if I would have visited as specialist. I wish they would have told me before he saw me! I only paid my $25.00 co-pay and 2 months later I receive a bill saying that I owe them $25.00. I didn’t know what it was for so I stopped by the office to see if they could tell me why I owed them $25.00. The person at the front desk couldn’t give me an explanation either so he told me he will talk to the billing department and get back to me with an answer. That never happened. I left several messages as well, my phone calls were never returned, finally I called my insurance and they were able to get in touch with the billing department. This was the first time when I couldn’t get in touch with a billing department when I had a question about a bill. It was a very bad experience! As for the doctor, I felt rushed, he didn’t care to listen. I would not recommend this office!

My husband came in for an appointment in Jan. concerned about pain in his groin and back. Dr Thomas started to examine him but stopped because he was more than displeased with the fact that my husband had not been COVID vaccinated. He then proceeded to go on the remainder of the appointment about why my husband should be vaccinated, how he is harming others, causing the spread etc. My husband left without ANY answers to the things he was hoping to get addressed. He was also interested in getting a complete physical and the Dr told him it wasn't necessary. This is not patient care. The job of the Dr is to address the issues the patient brings forth not to push a narrative.

After nurse practitioner Heather Bragg who normally cares for my son took a position with another employer we were forced to see Dr Thomas in order to have his medication for adhd refilled. I have never been so interrogated and treated so harshly by a doctor. I adopted my son from foster care 6 years ago and have worked hard to get him off of medication that was not needed and current meds adjusted to accommodate his high school schedule and after school commitments. I was shocked at the insinuations and rude disposition. I have been a patient at this office with a different doctor for many years. I will never take my son back there and I will look to change my primary care from this facility. Dr Thomas raised his voice to me and tried to access our situation without looking over all of my son’s history and accommodations! I am very upset and disappointed!

Dr. William Thomas was the "on call" doctor. The firm he works for was supposed to have called in a prescription on Nov 4. I was not feeling well and went to pick it up on the 6th. The practice failed to call it in. It was a low dose of the medication, but it is dangerous to go off of it suddenly. The 6th was a Saturday and waiting until Monday, due to their "no refills on weekends" policy was not an option. I called, left a message for him that his firm failed to call the prescription in, explained that I was going into withdrawals due to their error and that it needed to be called in asap. No response. I called again, with more urgency. No response. The pharmacy called. No response. He did call the answering service to say that I had to wait until Monday as they don't "call in refills on the weekend". This was NOT a basic refill call. His indifference was turning this into an emergency. I will be filing a complaint with the medical board against this doctor for his lack of care.

He has been my doctor for about three years now and finding him upon moving to Christiansburg was a godsend. He takes his calling seriously listening to the patient, reviewing the data, making firm recommendations, but moving on when I ignore them on occasion. My background in healthcare administration, however, causes concern for docs with this much devotion. Sometimes I feel like he's a drowning man tryin to hold everyone else above water.

I love Dr. Thomas, he is awesome, friendly, confident and knowledgeable. I love seeing him and that is a plus when you visit a Doctor.

Dr. Thomas always tries to help me with any concerns and involve me with treatment decisions. He has the best bedside manner and is professional.

I have always seen another Dr in the practice, but I didn’t want to wait a week so I made an appointment on a Thursday for Monday . The Dr came bounding in the examining room an hour past my appointment time and apologizing. I had heard him in the next room chatting away after he had finished the examination which didn’t help his running late. I felt rushed during my own exam, and heaven forbid I asked him to check an issue with a toe that had popped up since I had made the appointment. He was very dismissive, commenting that he was already running late! I took the X-ray order I was given but will have the results sent to my Dr’s office. I will never see this Dr again!

The office was clean, staff was friendly, nurse was very knowledgeable. Dr. Thomas has great bedside manner, he was very thorough with my exam as a new patient. He took the time to ask me questions and listen to my responses. He used terms I can understand and broke down the answer to my questions in entirety. I would recommend him to family or friends.

Dr. Thomas and staff did an excellent job. I was well taken care of by a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and I truly appreciate Dr. Thomas' expertise.

His feedback is honest and communicated clearly, and the staff are always warm and welcoming. With Dr. Thomas also providing pediatric services, this office has become a one-stop shop for my little one and I (which makes scheduling appointments a breeze!). I highly recommend to any busy parent (or individual) seeking quality professional care.

I consider Dr. Thomas to be the best Dr. I have ever had! He is genuinely interested in my well being and he takes the time necessary to find out my problem! I never feel like I am just another patient that he has to hurry thru the exam and rush off to the next patient. My last exam was for an adjustment but after talking at length to him about things that were happening to me he immediately decided to check me for a possible heart problem. It makes me feel like I am in very good hands with DR. Thomas; he listens and reacts! RB

This was my first visit with Dr. Thomas it was a pleasant visit. He was very knowledgeable of my problem. He went in details to explain my problem and my future prognoses also how to treat myself without medication. I really like how he stated if I need the medication take it but if not don't. I don't like taking medication so it all worked out without the medication.

Years ago,I switched to him,He was rude and disrespectful and would not change my b.p. med. because I had been on Lisinopril for years.I had came off Zanax,that is why it shot through the roof ,234/???.I got a referral w/o asking from Dr.White after his visit. I told him i believe i got osteoarthritis from symbicort ,he said"you did not get O from S,you got it from old age. I think I was around 55 then and he said I did not have ear infection and i ended up at hospital and was treated for one.

Dr. Thomas is a great storyteller. He really engages his patients on topics that are relevant and i the process does a good "ice break". He made my transition from my previous provider to Lewis Gale seem so seamless. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas fro you family medicine needs.

Dr. Thomas was dismissive and patronizing. He told me that the ongoing intractable colicky abdominal pain was "just something that happens when we get older," (I'm 34) and told me to keep taking the OTC meds that weren't helping. Despite the physical exam revealing significant tenderness with guarding in my RUQ, he declined to order imaging. Turns out, I had gallstones, and I suffered needlessly for months because this guy didn't feel like ordering a 20-minute ultrasound.

Dr. Thomas is a very good doctor. When you go to see him, he is very concerned about your situation, he takes the time to listen to your concerns, and makes good suggestions and advice for your treatment and care.

Dr. Thomas is an excellent family physician. He is very professional and exhibits patience, caring and superb medical knowledge. He takes time to listen to any questions or concerns and provides followup. I am a healthcare professional with a M.S. Degree and worked in medical centers in FL, Saudi Arabia, LA and VA for thirty years. I am very pleased with the medical care provided by Dr. Thomas and highly recommend him as a family physician.

Dr. Thomas is a wonderful primary care provider who is competent, caring, patient focused, and professional. It's a pleasure to have him and his team on my side. Appointments are easy to make and run on time; they target your concerns. The staff and practice is up to date with the latest technology, offer a full-range of diagnostic and in-house screenings including immunizations and referrals, medical case management, and insurance coordination for continuity of care. They work for you!

This review will go with the one on Heather Bragg, Dr Thomas and nursing staff has always treated me almost like family he is the most courteous and considerate professional doctor and his staff I could not ask For better treatment he immediately takes time and cares about his patients I would recommend him and his staff and anyone in that office to anybody I thank them from the bottom of my heart!!!

Dr. Thomas always listens to his patients and includes them in healthcare decisions. His staff is courteous and knowledgeable. Getting an appointment is easy and he is able to work patients in as needed. I highly recommend him as a healthcare provider.

I have been looking for a PCP for several but years. Dr Thomas is the first doctor I have felt confident with as being my PCP. During my new patient visit he listened to all of my information and provided helpful feedback concerning my chronic issues and medications. Dr Thomas ll......is very knowledgeable about the short-term or long-term things that harm our bodies and slows us down from doing our daily chores. He takes the much needed extra time to listen to your concerns about what it is you are there for. After a lot of checking you and much discussion he always comes up with the right medicine/therapy or whatever you need to bring you back to good health. But what makes him different from all the other doctors I have visited is ......he LISTENS.

He is the best doctor I have EVER had! He really cares about my health! He take the time to explain things, find solutions, and make u feel the best you can
