William R Strand

This had to be one of the worst experiences w one of my child’s doctors. We scheduled a follow up for a consult for surgery and Dr.Strand basically told us “i can’t help you make a decision about surgery” YES YOU CAN! Give us a CONSULT ! He wouldn’t even answer my questions as a concerned mother sending my 6 month old into surgery! We are first time parents and we are now starting over at square one to find a different surgeon to hopefully walk us through surgery and give us pro’s and con’s !

Our teen daughter has suddenly been experiencing bladder incontinence and pelvic pain. Dr Strand was recommended by her Neurologist. Unlike other Doctors who have been rude, inattentive, cold, and just flat out jerks. Dr Strand was kind, compassionate, attentive, and concerned for our daughter. Just as she is and we are. If I could give 100 stars I certainly would! Don't find many doctors with his bedside manners these days.

I heard from multiple outlets unrelated to one another that Dr. Strand was the best of the best. Even the NP at my pediatrician's office used him. My son had surgery for an undescended testicle and I felt well informed and he was well cared for. I felt the options given to me were balanced and I could ask any questions I needed. Very unhappy with his demeanor, taking an hr and a half to be seen.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. My son was born with dilated kidneys. Dr Strand recommended a risky and invasive surgery on my newborn son to “correct” a problem that generally resolves on its own. He also claimed my son had hypospadias, essentially a defect in his pen*s. He recommended surgery for that as well. I consulted a urologist at Childrens Health who confirmed that neither surgery was needed and should not have been recommended. There is no pen*s problem for which Dr Strand is a self proclaimed expert and there is no kidney problem. The new urologist monitored him with scans until he was 3 and the kidney problem fully resolved on its own. Also, this sick man had my son strapped down for a circumcision and had already done some numbing, then “discovered hypospadias” and refused to continue the procedure due to his desire to perform unnecessary surgery on an infant. I had to postpone the circumcision and it ended up being more complicated outpatient procedure. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. The glowing reviews are a shock. Perhaps he has decided to stop recommending unnecessary surgeries or maybe his unsuspecting victims just didn’t pursue 2nd opinions. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Dr. Strand is heaven sent! I was a worried mom , and even though the procedure isn’t completed until november , he took all of my worries away. And he has a great sense of humor !!!

We had the best experience with Dr. Strand and his staff. We were told our son had hypospadias at birth by the on-call pediatrician. This was confirmed by our personal pediatrician who then recommended Dr. Strand. From our first meeting, through follow-up, Dr. Strand and his staff was genuinely kind and compassionate. We felt comfortable with him doing our son's procedure. We found him to be meticulous, and believe he truly wanted the best for our son. If only more doctors had his bedside manner! We felt fortunate to have been referred to Dr. Strand, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

im sure its the best care you can buy. just make sure you have cash. otherwise their value is money over child care.

Whomever runs the front desk if extremely unhelpful and seems uncaring about children's emergencies. If you record all your calls for training I definitely hope mine was recorded. Definitely will not be back here just for her customer service and attitude towards my child's situation.

We were referred to Dr. Strand by our pediatrician。 Dr is great and staff is nice. The only complain is waiting time. We waited 30 mins for the first visit and 60 mins for the second, which is horribly long for mom with 6 month old baby

Really professional, our son had a surgery with him and he explained everything for us really clear, he explained all our concerns.

Did a re- circumcision, it was a smooth experience. I would recommend him again if you have a male child that needs to be circumcised go to him first!

Dr. Strand gave my son an emergency surgery he was incredibly kind and professional he explained what was going on and made my son comfortable I couldn't have asked for a better Doctor. I am very grateful to him and would highly recommend him. Thank you Dr. Strand!!

We were referred to Dr. Strand by our pediatrician. The office is easy to get to and find, the front office team was very polite and fussed over our son. Dr. Strand was very quick to come in and immediately knew what was going on with our son and was able to explain the condition in a very simple way. We scheduled the surgery that day and the coordinator did a great job informing us of all details. The day of surgery Dr. Strand came in and talked us through the two hour surgery. He is always so kind and patient with our interactions. After the surgery he made sure we had his cellphone number, and we did actually have to use it! The pharmacy was questioning the pain meds prescribed to an infant and we told them to call Dr. Strand. Dr. Strand personally called us two times that weekend to check on our son and was genuinely concerned about our sons healing. The post op he was so pleased with healing and how the procedure went. He’s a great guy. Careful, precise, warm, funny. He runs late because he doesn’t rush anything. Wouldn’t you prefer that is someone is cutting on your child?! I certainly do. He’s operated on two of my grandsons so I know!

Dr. Strand is just an amazing urologist! I highly recommend him! He is great with children, and making them feel comfortable.

Going to Dr. Strand for my son's circumcision was the decision I could have made. Dr. Strand was extremely professional, precise, had excellent bedside manner and performed a beautiful procedure on my son. We will continue to go to Dr. Strand for any future urology needs. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Dr Strand is not only polite, thorough, detailed, great bedside manner and very experienced. My son had to get surgery twice and he was wonderful both times, I really appreciate that he personally picks up his patients calls (even over the weekend). We all know anything to do with Pediatrics is more about the parents than the child. I'd recommend him and his Dallas office staff in a heartbeat (Plano office not so much).

I really really like Dr Strand as a physician. He’s so polite, detailed and thorough - tells us everything step by step and even answers phone calls after surgeries in person! I have no complaints about him. I’d love to give him 5 stars but his staff is somewhat... lacking in admin skills. They don’t return phone calls, i shouldn’t have to call 3 times to make an appointment for my sons surgery. Also the wait time can be up to 30 mins. He apologizes for the wait but it’s a pretty consisten

Dr. Strand was great! Made me feel at ease about my son having this procedure at only 7 months.

Office staff is terrible. Doctors are both wonderful but with office personnel so incredibly rude, take your child somewhere else.

He was awesome , super nice and compassionate , explains things well, great with kids and the parents!

We chose Dr Strand to do our son's circumcision. He came highly recommended by several nurses and we now understand why. Our son did not even cry! Dr Strand applied topical numbing cream and waited a decent amount of time for it to kick in. He then injected lidocaine. Dr. Strand talked us through the procedure so we understood everything that was taking place. He was super kind and personable and completely eased my worried momma's heart. Great Dr with incredible skill! NOT traumatic at all!!! We chose Dr Strand to do our son's circumcision. He came highly recommended by several nurses and we now understand why. My wife and I have seen many doctors over the years but he is one of the few who has left such a positive mark on us. He is such a great doctor! He did my son's surgery and explained everything to us at each step and was always available to answer our questions and concerns.

Highly recommended! He is very knowledge and has great bedside manner! Top Tier recommended by Pediatrician. Best choice by far, doctor is tops. He is quite personable with his patients.

Highly recommended! He is very knowledge and has great bedside manner! My kid is no longer in pain. Such a complicated journey for us was very simple for him to figure out in a matter of seconds. Thankful!
