I stopped seeing Dr. Murray because I felt dismissed by him and he was extremely condescending to me. My husband liked seeing him. Until he had an actual medical problem. For months, he was in pain and while Dr. Murray eventually referred him to the specialists we wanted (Dr Murray tried staying within his hospital network but that was a bad experience for my husband), he also told my husband that he did not think there was anything wrong with him. It wasn’t until my husband switched to see an NP at UVA as his new PCP that she diagnosed him with celiac disease. So much to “there is nothing wrong with you.”

I have been his patient for 2 decades. Hands down the best family Doctor I ever had. What else is there to say? He's the best.

I felt the need to review Dr. Murray due to my experiences with finding a new doctor after I moved to Fredericksburg, VA from the Cville area. Most importantly, he was awesome with my two daughters (2 yrs and 4 yrs) and at one point my wife stated that she was getting blood drawn by a nurse and Dr. Murray took them out of the room. when she exited the room he was on the floor playing with them. My daughters loved going to him and he would involve them every time they had to get a check up, like letting them hear through the stethoscope. As for visits regarding me, he was always straight forward and didn't sugar coat anything but at the same time, he was very considerate of my perspective. I have used him numerous times before my pre-deployment physicals prior to my Iraq and Afghanistan tours. I am also on a prescription that is classified as a controlled substance. He never tried to push any particular pill on me, and more importantly, never tried to change what was working for me because of a stigma associated to the pill and the added paperwork that is involved with it. I would definitely recommend him to others, especially if they have children or are deploying overseas.
