Dr. William Harland Montgomery III

I give Dr Montgomery 5 stars . This man has rebuilt me at least 20 times I’m my life. I’m 54 yrs old now. Rebuilt my left arm with 2 rods and 18 screws in 2001 then over the years rebuilt my knees with acls for both knees and meniscus and 3 years ago a new total shoulder replacement which when I had physical therapy everyone was clapping from disbelief that I had full range of motion , today I am in no pains from any past surgeries and now I’m getting my right knee replaced this April 23, so he’s the best Doctor to me and I recommend he 100% Peter was awesome too and David too

Dr. Montgomery, and his staff, are outstanding. He and they are kind, and highly skilled. He replaced my shoulder in May 2021 and the physical therapist was in awe of how quickly I've progressed and his "perfect stitches". Your couldn't ask for a better surgeon.

Had to get emergency surgery in my elbow after falling while playing in a college soccer game. entire team at st mary's orthopedic center was great, dr montgomery did the surgery and patched me up. would 100% recommend.

Excellent caring and thorough physician. He did 3 shoulder surgeries on me. Each one he cared enough to give me options as alternatives and choices to avoid surgery. His communication is excellent. He’s available when he’s needed. His whole office is excellent. Quite a rarity in today’s medical climate.

Dr Montgomery has helped me with knees, shoulders, and an elbow and I have found his care and direction to be far superior to others. I was a Garbage man for 15 years worked for Golden Gate Disposal Co. I mainly worked in the Tenderloin area, the way we picked up the trash was with a 4X4 Burlap blanket we called sacks, put all trash in center grab 3 corners & tie the 4th corner round other 3 & lift it over your shoulder onto your back this was an extreme physical demanding job. I was first treated at San Francisco Orthopidics at number 1 Shreader street by Dr. Gar Wynn, he was a skilled surgeon who cared of & about his patients, I had 9 Orthoscopic surgeries, 6 to right knee & 3 to the left knee. Dr. Wynn did 4 of the right knee surgeries & Dr. McCann same office did 2 to the left knee. I met Dr. Montgomery through Dr. Wynn who introduced me to Dr. Montgomery, Dr. Gar Wynn retired & Dr. Montgomery was my primary doctor & Id only prefer to be treated by him only. When I read a review of a person calling Dr. Montgomery a Butcher ? I take that bad review & his bad comments personally !! Dr. Montgomery is an outstanding Surgeon, his incisions are done as if a lazor cut through the skin, Dr. Montgomery did 2 orthodcopic surgeries to my knees, then he helped me wn my right knee was worn down to bone on bone & he did a surgery with a Titanium rod, 5 screws & kept me working for a few more years. In 2014 & 2015 Dr. Montgomery Did a Total Knee replacement to both knees Right & Left Knees & this was expertly done by Dr, Montgomery & the best surgeries I’ve ever had with 0 problems to this day. I’m 60 years old I put Dr. Montgomery on the Highest shelf of the Best of The Best Orthopedic Surgeons around, i’ve had 25 surgeries to my body & of all of those surgeries i’ve never had any kind of problems with the surgeries done by Dr. Montgomery, I tip my hat to you Dr. Montgomery continue with your outstanding skill, people say Muhamond Ali was the Greatest well Ali is gone & may he rest in peace, you’re the Greatest now . Dr Montgomery isn’t a surgeon rather commercially certified butcher. Go get stitched up and fleeced at your own détriment and his sole benefit. The WORST doctor ever. Doesn’t care an once about patients/ his surgery was described by other doctors as plain butchery, botch job. He is a terrible doctor

The worst ortho surgeon you can find. Dr WM is a butcher, and I can say that from personal experience, having had 2 surgeries with him that doctors that looked at them after questioned how an earth can a surgeon do such a terrible job on a human being. Dr Montgomery should be sued for malpractice

He is very thorough and precise, offers various options if any and states his opinion in a very logical way. He is the doctor that you trust immediately. Peter, Dr Montgomery and all nurses and support staff, Thanks. One of the finest hospitals we have been treated . The surgery was successful and after 8 days the cast is off. Monday they remove it staples. A fine surgeon with a great personality.

Fixed several issues with my right shoulder. He and his staff fielded SEVERAL worried questions from me, all about worrying about the procedure and not trusting doctors in general. In the end, I trusted him. It was the surgical process that scared me. Now will schedule my other shoulder as it finally needs the work.

Dr. Montgomery has been able to keep me going and active for over 25 years playing polo and skiing an average of 90 days a year. He has performed approximately 25 surgeries including 2 knee replacements following 14 other knee proceedures, multiple shoulder surgeries and other surgeries.

My experience with Dr. Montgomery was highly unsatisfactory. The appointment was brief, hurried, and perfunctory. His main concern was attempting to convince me to schedule surgery I did not need rather than exhibiting any interest in my medical issues or me. He was cold, aloof, and manipulative. I chose not to have any additional dealings with him, but he billed my insurance company for $1,000 and me personally for $130 for an initial "get-acquainted appointment" that accomplished nothing.

Dr. Montgomery and his entire staff are top notch!!! I travel 3 hours each way so I could have him as my surgeon. You couldn't ask for better! I did my research and I couldn't be happier! He dealt with an injury neglected by another MD and has been stellar. His PA David is awesome as well as the ancillary staff! You can't go wrong by choosing this doctor!

I've been a patient of Dr. Montgomery for the past 10 yrs. He's done multiple surgeries, as a result of broken left clavicle and torn right shoulder rotator cuff. Both injuries have occurred overtime in excess physical sports and injuries... the surgeries have been quite successful for a patient in my age. I do however admit, the front office personal or management could use a bit more training. I've been a patient of Dr. Montgomery for the past 10 yrs. dr Montgomery has well esrablished reputation, experience and he is an expert and he engenders confidence in his patients

I have been very happy so far with all aspects of care from the pre-surgery appointment thru the actual surgery day. Dr Montgomery seems confident and enthusiastic with his recommendation for care and this in turns makes me feel confident with the final post surgical results that I anticipate. I especially appreciate the fact on surgery day that each and every person I encountered was on the move; on the ball, and smiling too.

Operated on me both for my shoulder and my knee; knew when to hold back and when to pursue more extreme measures. I very much like him and his staff.

I am a chiropractor. I have been referring knee and shoulder patients to Dr. Montgomery since 1998. He has done a fabulous job on all the patients that I have sent him and he is a person that you can trust at the highest level. He has not recommended surgery for a number of the patients. But, on the patients that he has done surgery, all of them have given him an A+ and thanked me for the referral to a caring professional. His reputation throughout medical community of nurses, physicians and physician assistants is that he can be trusted with the toughest cases. YOU DID MY RT TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT IN AUGUST 2007 AND IT IS STILL IN PERFECT CONDITION. YOU ARE ALWAYS WILLING TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. YOU ARE ALSO VERY VERY KIND, & PATIENT & NON-JUDGEMENTAL. Montgomery repaired (hopefully) my left shoulder. It was diagnosed as a torn rotator cuff, bone spurs and a damaged bicep. fortunately, the rotator cuff was OK, which means a far less invasive procedure with a much shorter recovery -- though I am not sure why the diagnosis was off. I suppose the MRI was just done to generate revenue without actually providing any enlightenment about the problem. Today my followup appointment was scheduled at 10:30 . . . After arriving at 10:20, I was called out of the waiting room at 11:10 and taken to an exam room. 40 Minutes later, at 11:50, I put my shirt and jacket back on and left after having no one see me one hour and twenty minutes after my appointment time (with insults thrown at the poor people at the front desk, who didn't deserve it, but I was NOT given a chance to lay into the A--HOLE doctors). When I got home, I removed my own stitches. Unfortunately, I am sure these JERKS will get paid by my insurance carriers, which is a travesty. The ARROGANCE of some practitioners and their total disregard of the lives and time constraints of patients is reprehensible. Montgomery repaired (hopefully) my left shoulder.
