I would give zero stars if I could. The most traumatic experience I have ever had with a doctor. Came in for some shoulder discomfort that turned into severe pain after his exam. Then wrongly diagnosed me with a awful prognosis and lots of unnecessary/heavy medication. Luckily went and got a second opinion quickly and was given proper treatment.

I've had 3 surgeries with Dr. Mitchell. Two rotator cuff, pitching injuries in 2000 and 2004. As well as a knee meniscus in 2010. All were very successful and I was able to continue pitching for 17 years after my first surgery.

Dr. Mitchell has provided me with superb surgical care. After 45 years of commercial fishing he replaced both knees & repaired both shoulders. He is highly skilled, thoughtful and compassionate. He always made his diagnosis of my orthopedic problems after making a physical examination,...and only after the exam did he look at my MRI or X-rays. He once commented to me: I view myself first as a physician-and then as a surgeon.

I would recommend DR Mitchell to anyone in need of the best SURGON ANYWHERE HE OPERATED ON MY ANKLE 10 YEARS AGO SEVERE BRAKES HAD TO PUT MULTPLE SCREWS I DONT EVEN HAVE ANY ARTHRITIS AT ALL HE IS THE BEST

I do not recommend Dr. Mitchell to anyone. He provided one-sided and even false information to convince me that I needed knee surgery. The surgery he performed on my knee was not necessary and could have been avoided with proper therapy. As a matter of fact, my knee is worse off than before the surgery.

Dr. Mitchell had helped me with a surgical ACL repair on one knee back in 1994. Last year, he performed surgery on my Achilles area of my heel. Both procedures were successes and I have always felt in the best of care with Dr. Mitchell. I love to be active and like to garden, ride a bike, and practice yoga. My body/joints naturally age and wear, but thanks to Dr. Mitchell, I’ve not lost out on too opportunties to stay actively challenged and content with the body I have. He’s the best!

I would never recommend this physician to anyone. My entire experience with him was negative from beginning to end. It is likely I never needed the knee replacement surgery he performed.

I had two TKR surgeries two years apart. I could not be any happier with the outcome. He is a very personable man and cares about his patients very much. He even visited me on his day off while I was in the hospital.
