My mother was diagnosed with mouth cancer. Dr McNamara surgically removed it and saved my mothers life. We are very grateful to Dr McNamara and we would recommend him to anyone that has mouth cancer.

Had a large squamous removed from my chin during the Pandemic and after 2 years it has not come back. Regular visits, scans and tests give me the confidence it is under control. His visits are always on time, thorough and timely.

I very highly recommend Dr. McNamara for anyone needing the services of a highly skilled head and neck surgeon who also specializes in oncology. I underwent what turned out to be a near six hour surgery with Dr. McNamara removing cancerous tissue from the side of my face. Outcome was what I had been hoping for. Plus he’s clearly very knowledgeable and speaks to the point. Even my plastic surgeon who took over after Dr. McNamara was finished and observed him at work in the operating room was impressed with his skills as a surgeon. Post-surgical follow-ups; very thorough and compassionate care.

Dr. McNamara has been one of my husband’s doctors for 3 years at Texas Oncology at McKinney North. He is an exceptional surgeon and a caring, concerned doctor. He always takes time to answer all of our questions as if my husband is his only patient that day. We trust him completely.

He explained the treatments, risks, and recovery accurately and I'm glad he took care of me. I have been under the care of Dr. McNamara for almost 2 years. From consultation to surgery to my follow-ups - I have no complaints about Dr. McNamara. He answers all my questions and I never feel rushed when speaking with him. I highly recommend Dr. McNamara if you are in the need of a surgical oncologist.

Dr. McNamara is everything you want in an oncology surgeon. GREAT bedside manner, GREAT scientist, GREAT doc, and GREAT human being. My squamous cell carcinoma tumor on my tongue was worse than expected and so he made decisions that resulted in a longer recovery but spared my speech! I spoke immediately after surgery and my speech improved quickly. PRAISE GOD! I know I was very blessed to have Dr. McNamara in this crisis. I can speak without any impairment due to him, his talent, knowledge, and guidance. I did everything he told me to do including to keep my mouth clean, talk from the moment I woke up from surgery and as often as possible ever since, use and move my tongue as often as possible - even through pain - to help it heal and to eat, try new foods as soon as possible, get off pain meds at the earliest opportunity, complete radiation as he recommended, and swallow and oncology therapies. WORTH IT! He saved my life and helped me get it back. THANK YOU, DR. MCNAMARA!

Dr McNamara was very knowledgeable and answered so many questions that were a mystery prior to seeing him . He moved quickly with getting tests and referrals so that we could start my Father’s treatment as quickly as possible . Thank you adr McNamara .

Amazing Doctor! Very professional and always return my call. He always take time to listen and answer questions that you may have. The staff are also exceptional.

The doctor was always confident in the direction he was going in relation to my care and treatment which eased my mind.

Dr. McNamara did explain the procedure he would be using when he excised the squamous cell carcinoma from my tongue, but I do not remember that he explained what I might experience post-surgically - such as difficulty swallowing. Some doctor even prescribed pain pills post-surgically - an impossibility for me to swallow. If my daughter-in-law, a very sharp R.N., had not spent the first 4 nights after surgery with me, I would have been in a BAD way. She arranged for liquid pain meds and set up a workable time schedule for taking them. Also, I would have appreciated some words of encouragement re. my progress, or lack thereof during post-surgical visits - and - what, if anything, I should be doing if I were not heading in the correct direction. I KNOW that every human is unique, but words of encouragement and instruction are often both needful AND welcome.

If you have serious sinus or mouth cancer, Dr.McNamara is Amazing! He should rank in DFW's Top Five. His advanced surgical skills and experience are dwarfed by his bed side manors. To say he "actually cares" about his patients is a gross understatement. His willingness to fully explain the details of my difficult operation, the prognosis and what to expect was beyond refreshing.. Billing was easy,, appointments timely and his staff is very efficient/kind. I only wish I could give him and the staff "10" Stars. Thank You! Some of the most genuine and caring people I've ever met. The office staff went above and beyond to assist in each step of the process. Dr. McNamara was reassuring and showed true concern. I don't feel like just "a patient account" anytime I'm in his office.

Dr.McNamara is kind gracious and willing to answer questions even from an older person.He's never in a hurry to cut conversation short if you have concerns that need to be addressed.I feel blessed to have him as my Dr.

Did a follow up visit, post surgery. I found the doctor to be thorough and quite nice. He was pretty well on schedule, and I got the next follow up appointment scheduled with no problem.

No issues with surgery or care. Follow-up for a swelling of incision 4 weeks after to size of golf ball did not occur. After 4 phone calls to his office, and twice sending pictures of the swelling I was promised a call back. The call back never happened. Swelling went away after a few days.

Yes we would. We are very pleased with Dr. McNamara. He did an excellent job with the surgery and followup appointments. Would wish no one would have to use his services, but if they did...highly recommend him.

I was fortunate to have a dental hygienist who spotted what turned out to be leukoplakia during a check-up. But, I wasn't comfortable with the suggested treatment to remove the area affected. So, I sought a second opinion from an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon suggested that see Dr. McNamara. I was very comfortable with the proposed surgical solution and am thankful to have Dr. McNamara there for the ongoing follow-up. The surgery was performed at BSW-Plano and I was very impressed with the level of care I received during this day surgery.

Staff is friendly & helpful.

Dr McNamara performed my thyroid cancersurgery in February 2020. My incision looks great. He takes time to answer all of my questions and address my concerns.

Dr. McNamara is great, his assistants are great. His front desk office staff at Med City are really bad. Waited 45 minutes in the waiting room and asked the front desk what is going on? They lied to me about my appointment time (even though I could prove it) and thought that it was o.k. to wait 30minutes. No apology for the wait at all, so I just walked out. Will not go back, worst office staff I have ever dealt with, hands down. Dr. McNamara is great, his assistants are great. His front desk office staff at Med City are really bad. Dr. McNamara was very professional yet easy to talk to. He took the time to listen and explain to me the surgury proceedure. Dr. McNamara went out of his way to accommodate my wishes. I would defininately recomend him to friends and family.

Dr. William McNamara is a great surgeon, took great care of my husband, got him scheduled for lipoma removal surgery very quick and worked with our schedule, explained everything to us in great detail, prepared us for worst case scenario, we were lucky husband did not need the big surgery, incision looks great and barely noticeable (behind his earlobe) overall, we think Dr. McNamara is great doctor and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Surgery scheduled for 9 AM. Two hours later, no word, no nothing. The entire process has been one excuse after another. You should find someone else. He my be touted as the best in the country, but my experience says there has to be someone that has their act together.
