As a previous patient of Dr. Holland's I write this review regarding the most recent encounter I've had with the practice over an issue that has yet to be resolved after two years. While I’d been a patient of Dr. Holland’s for over 10 years and have always admired his “old-school” style my last visit brings me to this post. September 2016, was my last visit with Dr. Holland. I met with him for what was supposed to be an annual exam at which time I discussed with him a recent visit to the E/R. The visit went as usual as we discussed some of the recurring issues I've faced throughout my 10+ years of being seen by the physician (enlarged thyroid, anemia). He also made sure to give me an "ear full" about not coming in for two years (henceforth, annual exam). Following my exam with Dr. Holland, I went to Sonora Quest to have routine lab work completed and thought nothing further of the visit (with the exception of hoping that my TSH and iron levels had improved). Within two weeks or so, I received bills from both Dr. Holland's office as well as SQL requesting patient for each appointment. I later learned that instead of coding each service as apart of my annual exam, the procedure codes submitted to my insurance company were based on a follow-up visit. I immediately contacted the Billing Department and Front Office Manager (of Dr. Holland's office), SQL and my insurance company to inform them of the error. I was informed by the Front Office Manager that she was aware of my visit and agreed that she recalls scheduling the appointment as an annual exam. She assured me that the issue would be brought to the attention of Dr. Holland and also advised that I follow-up with the Billing Department with any additional questions/concerns (which I did). I never received any additional bills from the physician's office; however, I continued receiving bills from SQL. I was informed by a representative at SQL that while Dr. Holland's office reached out to SQL regarding the issue, the office failed to comply with the request to resubmit with correct coding. Two years later, yes two YEARS later, I go to SQL with orders from my new provider only to find that the matter from Dr. Holland's visit was never addressed and that not only did I have to pay for the services rendered in 9/2016, the matter is currently reflected as a collection account on my credit report! Needless to say, after contacting Dr. Holland's office (after two years of no contact) I've learned that not only has he since moved his practice, but the staff that was previously there is no longer. Trying to communicate this issue with the new staff has been nothing short of a headache and now I'm forced to go through the appeal's process with my previous insurance company to hopefully get some type of resolve. While being a patient of Dr. Holland's, over the years, I'd experienced a few moments of less than satisfactory encounters (not the friendliest front desk staff, outrageous wait times, and rushed service) I'd somehow convince myself that going in for an annual exam wouldn't cost me much besides, who wants to find a new doc after 10 years? I wish, however, that I would've followed my first instinct and not return to Dr. Holland in 2016. Boy do I regret not following my instincts!!!! He is a good Dr, attention to detail, and I I like the office. It's welcoming and Ella,h goes out of her way to do thing's and repeatedly beccuz I'm having high maintenance week. ❤and in case they read these,o go by , last name Hanscom????

Ive had an absoluetly terrible time with our healthcare system as a whole, since I became chronically ill back in 2013. One dr after another, no help. No one spends more than a couple minutes with me, or reads over my history or tried to do anything other than a quick, lazy diagnoses and prescribe meds to treat symptoms instead of my actual illness. I eventually found dr.holland and in the few times I have seen him he has spent more time with me than my last four pcps. He listens to my symptoms, asks questions, and does everything that he can to make sure that Im not only comfortable, but he and his staff have finally gotten me going in the right direction for actually treating my illness. For the first time in five years, Im actually excited and hopeful that my quality of life is going to get better.
