Dr.Heller was excellent in all professionalism, everything he told me was accurate, surgery on rotator was great, recovered fully without any complaints or complications, he’ll do his part but you have to do yours ( go to therapy and home exercise ), it’s crucial if you desire to be whole again, thanks Dr. Heller !!!!

I have had 4 surgeries with Dr Heller and have not experienced any problems of any kind. Each surgery fixed the problem and I was back to work within his time frame. This doctor is at the top of his game and even though I moved out of state, I will continue to have any hand or arm surgery with this man. I believe he is the best in the business.

He gets an “F” - I would not recommend this person. Stay away unless you are prepared for having an unprofessional experience. He drained a cyst on my wrist and - besides aggressively stabbing me with the needle and, after I reacted, telling me that creating trauma was an accepted practice - his clinical room was a dirty and cluttered mess. He was also arrogant, rude and very impatient in his demeanor. In the end, the cyst was not properly drained and I went to another doctor who was able to immediately assess and address it permanently and professionally. I’d suggest doing your research about this doctor before you meet with him, something I wish I would have done.

Dr. Heller is an extremely gifted surgeon. From setting the surgery appointment to post-operation recovery, everything was efficient and concise. I was back to athletic related activities before I expected!

I will not never go to see him again he was very mean to me and hurt my shoulder.

I went to Dr. Heller for a cyst on my wrist. He is very personable, friendly, and cares about his patients! He listened to all of my concerns and was able to fit me into his surgical schedule quickly. Highly recommend Dr. Heller!

EXCELLENT RECONSTRUCTIVE SHOULDER SURGERY. I separated my AC joint — badly — in a biking accident. I was 26, it was the first major medical issue I’d ever had in my life, and I was terrified. When I first visited Midland Orthopedic I initially saw one of Dr Heller’s colleagues, who then directed me to Dr Heller because he’s the expert on the most advanced reconstructive shoulder procedures. Dr Heller explained to me what the surgery was, what would probably happen if I got it, and what would probably happen if I didn’t. He patiently answered not only the specifics of my anxious questions, but the spirit of what I was trying to say: Is everything going to be ok, Doc? Am I going to be able to bike and swim and climb again? Dr Heller did not tell me everything was going to be alright — instead, he did something better. He helped me be ok with the fact that things were not ok. He didn’t promise to erase all my problems — surgery is trauma in itself and there was potential for plenty of complications. But he has 30 years of school and decades of practice under his belt, and he confidently told me the facts: that the potential payoff overwhelmingly outweighed the risks, that this procedure was my best bet for making a full return to sports, and that he wanted to help me enjoy the many years of physical activity I had ahead of me. I’m writing this review half a year later. My surgery came and went with zero complications. Very quickly, I could tell that having all my bones back in the right place was a massive improvement over where they’d been before. After three months, and some standard physical therapy, I was swimming and biking with my family on our beach vacation. Today I’ve got all my range of motion back, am swimming laps at the pool twice a week, and have already begun returning to weight lifting. Dr Heller (who it turns out also injured his own shoulder in a biking accident years ago), tells me that I’ll continue to see improvement for some time. Fantastic reconstructive shoulder surgery. Doc Heller tells it how it is, yet is very patient and sympathetic to my questions and concerns. Zero complications from surgery, and I returned to sports within a few months. Highly recommend!

Dr. Heller is a great doctor. He’s knowledgeable, genuinely cares about his patients, and works to see you improve. He explained every aspect of my wrist issue and all of the possible treatment plans, which I was able to decide on. He got me on his surgical schedule quickly. He is amazing!

Dr.Heller is a exceptional surgeon in his field he done my shoulder and i would recommend him. he has very good in office manners and listens to his Patients concerns and needs, very attentive and caring 5 STARS !!!

Terrible doctor, waited 45 minutes and he spend 5 minutes with you. Chief c/o that was 2 fingers without feeling, now more fingers without feelings. As a doctor he sent you off by saying "it takes time to recover, there's nothing I can do". Can he understand, the symptoms are getting worse not better!

I have been a patient of Midland orthopaedic off and on since 2009, this is also when I first met Dr. Heller. In 2015 I fell and tore both rotator cuffs and I hurt several other body parts.Dr.Strugala suggested I speak with Dr. Heller, I was afraid of surgery, but after several month's more of therapy I agreed to the surgery. I am glad I did. I must say Dr. Heller is a no nonsense type of guy he knows his business, and is highly recommended. Thank you Lenda M. Mason

I went to this person and suggest you run......OMG, 90 minutes wait time and 4 to 5 minutes in examining room. He grabbed the wrong arm and pushed it over my head. My head hit the wall and the arm has not yet recovered. The arm he grabbed had had rotator cuff surgery not even 4 months prior. HELP. I think he was stunned as much as I was at his aggressive and unprofessional action. I was not there concerning that arm. He flew out of the office. The waiting room was filthy and the staff not interested. Long wait and long wait in examing room. The doctor walked in sat down and grabbed the arm that had the rotator cuff operation He then pushed it over my head and it appears to be permanently damaged now. This lapse of judgement seems to be how he operates by other internet evaluations. I just am sad I didn't read BEFORE I had one of the worst experiences ever in my 64 years of life. Dr. Heller was thorough and explained all aspects of my osteoarthritis issues. He gave me options and presented the possible pros and cons of each option. I was thrilled with the outcome of all of my treatment and I felt knowledgeable about the decisions we made regarding my arthritis issues. I have had a thumb joint replacement, LRTI, a fusion on an end joint and a replacement on the middle joint. All were successful and resolved pain issues.
