William Alexander Currie

His motto is SPEED...get you in get you out and he applies that to even a Colonoscopy. A very unpleasant experience and I never went back.

I just read reviews by people being dumped by Dr. Currie, even though they were established patients. I’d seen him for years as well, and last year I was also dumped because I had Medicare, along with my supplemental insurance. I had an appointment in my calendar when a nice assistant very sheepishly called me to cancel, because they realized that I’d become of Medicare age. Even though I’m disappointed in him, I’ve found another gastroenterologist whom I like better. The Medicare snub is sad, especially when someone is an established patient. Beware!

My brother saw William Currie in 2021 for stomach pains, bloodied stool and rapid weight loss and was diagnosed with EoE, triggered by food allergies. He was rushed to the ER in Jan of 2022 and they found stage 4 pancreatic cancer. We just buried my brother this past Friday, 1/20/23. Even during chemo he tried calling William Currie and not one returned phone call. I don't want anyone to go through what my brother went through so please be careful and get a 2nd opinion if you are skeptical of this post and still seeing this man.

My entire family have used Dr. Currie for routine colonoscopy work for years. He has a big personality when he talks to you and we have found him very knowledgeable and experienced. He is a straight-shooter which is much appreciated. However, several months ago the last time we were there, his nurse is a game-changer. She is someone who completely hates her job. She never returns phone calls, is extremely rude, interrupts your case history collection, and so sarcastic that we couldn't wait to leave. You wait weeks for your 15 minute appointment. The most should be made of everyone's time. She never once followed up with procedure scheduling or returned phone calls. You can only get help from Dr. Currie when the gate-keeper allows. And I assure you, she will not. I can say at least she is consistent, never helped once. Find a dr. AND staff that works with you in making medical decisions. If so, this is not the place.

I have seen Dr. Currie for years but as soon as I retired and Medicare became my primary insurance he refused to see me even though I had a supplemental insurance policy. So sad that money is more important than ethics and his moral principles.

I'm surprised his ratings are this high. He flat out told our family that our dad was doomed and even a liver transplant would not save him. Here we are, years later, my dad is alive and well after a liver transplant. Stay away from this guy.

My loved one had terrible digestive issues with nausea, unexplained weight loss and drop in blood pressure. He saw Dr. Curry several times and the doctor told my loved one to increase his dosage of stool softener- no testing was suggested. A week later, my loved one saw a different doctor who immediately put him in the hospital. My loved one had Stage 4 stomach cancer, and died 3 weeks later. Dr. Curry also misdiagnosed another loved one as having ulcerative colitis. Colonoscopies performed by other doctors for the last 20 years have shown no ulcerative colitis. Dr. William Currie is the most professional and caring Dr. He takes his time to know the patient and proceed with the correct procedures. My family and I highly recommend him.

Terrible terrible doctor. Gave us no hope and sentenced us to hospice care because "nothing else could be done." Now or loved one is recovering and will begin treatment. This man is cold and soulless. Pick someone else.

He takes care of the illness with so much expertise. And we love Liza so professional and gives efficient kindly instructions.

I went to see Dr. Currie for the first time and he immediatley ordered tests. I appreciated that he listened to my symptons and started to fix the problem immediatley. The first test did not find anything however he moved quickly to the next scan. My gallbladder needs to be removed and I appreciate his quick responses.

Wonderful, well educated, compassionate doctor!

I would never recommend him to anyone. I went to him for help I was nauseous, severe stomach pain, diarrhea and vomiting. He came in never examined me or ordered one test in fact he never touched me. Dr. Willam Currie is a wealth of information as well as an excellent doctor. He's been taking care of me for about eight years. Highly recommended.

Dr. Currie is an excellent physician. He narrowed down my problem very rapidly and decided it could have been two possibilities. He is a very thorough physician and easy to talk to. I was very pleased with my visit to his office in every respect. Paulo Nery

Both my husband and I had used Dr. Currie for a colonoscopy 4 years ago. I had a second one done in December 2016. We moved out of state and have come back to Katy to have my procedure done; we are getting ready to schedule my husband's. The facility he uses is very efficient and the staff there is very friendly. His personality can be a little overbearing but my husband and I trust him to do the procedure correctly. I am paying him to do the procedure not for his personality.

My husband and sister were right, Dr Currie is great. He is passionate and loves his work, he explains everything in a way that patients can easily understand. He know his stuff

Dr. Currie has a god complex. He thinks he knows everything about your condition without listening. He interrupts you before you get 3 words out of your mouth. He seems to be more interested in moving on to the next patient than spending time with you. Between initial visit and after procedure visit, he contradicted himself 4 times between diagnosis and prescribed medications. I don't feel like a patient, but rather a means for him to make money. He talks down to you as if you were an idiot.

I have had many issues trying to get this man to listen, but he thinks he knows everything before he hears the background and wants to just write a prescription or send to surgery. I have been working excessively lately, sitting on my butt for 60 hrs a week. My work was willing to buy me a stand up desk if Dr. Currie had written a note stating my issues that he has record of. He said I needed to go to my primary care physician that doesnt have record of these issues for the note. I made that clear, but he refused and rather stated he would write me a prescription for a pillow to sit on instead. Thanks for listening....to nothing. I had heard good things about Dr. Currie before my first visit, and I am glad I was able to get in to see him. He is very educated and knowledgeable about what he does. In my experiance, he has his nurses come in to the room first to take notes on what you have going on, and then he will come in and tell you what needs to happen. He may not ask you too many questions, but that is because the nurses have already got all the information he needs. He wants to treat the problem, not just the symptoms, which I really appreciate. He does have a loud and unique personality, but he is a very good physician. I trust him with my medical care. I had heard good things about Dr. Currie prior to my first visit, and I am glad I ended up getting referred to him. Not only is his office staff friendly and efficient, but Dr. Currie is very educated and knows what he's talking about. He has a loud personality and will usually have his nurses get all the information he needs. He can come off wrong to some people but he is a good physician and that's what matters when you are dealing with health concerns.You can tell he cares about what he does.
