No bedside manner, not personable, not quite happy with him

Dr barrick helped me out a lot he performed emergency surgery on my hand and did an amazing job great doctor he knows his stuff his staff was pleasant as well best doctor at orthopedic associates

Dr. Barrick recently preformed irrigation surgery on my hip to flush out an near fatal infectious disease. He is an expert in his field with more than 40 years of experience. The surgery was a success. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Berrick, is a very busy doctor , but when you meet him he gets right to the issues. He gives his opinion and his valuation then and there,does not beat around the bush. I value that due to the fact that i have been waiting around for almost 7 years to elevate the nightmare of constant pain and i now have hope I am getting closer to resolving what may be the answers. While I have not personally been treated by Dr. Barrick, it is only because I have the misfortune of living too far away in North Jersey to travel to his office. I was a college classmate of the doctor’s and can’t emphasize enough that he was brilliant, with notable participation in every course we shared. I further recall his being accepted to several impressive medical schools when other students were struggling to get into any in the USA. Having observed Dr. Barrick’s genius and dedication to his studies, had I the necessity and opportunity, I would trust my fate to his hands and look beyond the warm and fuzzy. Dr. Barrick recently did a lumbar spine surgery on me that went exceedingly well. No more pain radiating down my leg. I am totally pain free after seven weeks. I stumbled on Dr. Barrick and decided to have him do my surgery after one visit to him. I believe that God guided me to him because He knew I needed a skilled doctor who is at the top of his game to do my surgery. Thank you Dr. Barrick for a job well done. If you are looking for a spine surgeon, I recommend you visit Dr. Barrick. The best!

60+ minute wait; Incredibly rushed; Spoke WAY too fast; Poor bedside manner; Not empathetic; Was able to get in last-minute for an emergency. He read my MRI accurately and gave me the PT referral I needed, but was not helpful in recommending aggressive care for a young, active patient. I would not feel comfortable returning for a consultation, let alone going under the knife.

My 13 year old daughter had an initial consultation with Dr. William Barrick on July 17th in the Hopewell Junction office. The wait was about 1 hour. When Dr. Barrick finally arrived he was clearly flustered and rushed through the visit. In fact, his hasty examination and somewhat rough handling of my daughter's herniated disk resulted in more discomfort for her by the end of the visit. Total time with him was 5 minutes in which he ordered an MRI. We returned for a follow-up with Dr. Barrick on August 13th. At that point, he confirmed his initial suspicions of a herniated disk with the MRI results. He advised us that surgery was needed and proceeded to explain to us in painful detail what the surgery entailed (scraping, cutting etc) even though we did not decide yet on surgery. I asked him what were alternatives to surgery. He indicated that there was only a 10% chance of recovery without surgery and 90% recovery WITH surgery. I asked him if it was common to recommend surgery for a 13-year old he indicated that he has operated on many teenagers. I asked him what was the average age for people that have this surgery, he indicated that it was between 30-40 years old. He was also clear to state that it was highly unlikely that my daughter's herniated disk would get better without intervention. I advised him that we would probably get a 2nd opinion before settling on surgery. I paid the co-payment for the visit and we left. Our 2nd opinion at Somers Orthopedic with Dr. Peretz was pending. In the meantime, my daughter has started school and needs a note to be dismissed for gym class. I called the Hopewell Office and they advised me that Dr. Barrick needs to evaluate my daughter again. I told them that he ALREADY evaluated her and has recommended surgery. They told me that it doesn't matter, it's been over a month and he needs to evaluate her again. I believe this is just a ploy to collect another examination fee since Dr. Barrick was very clear about her diagnosis. Very disappointing experience overall. Thank you Dr. Barrick. A great doctor who gave me my quality of life back. My arms, shoulders, back and hands were going numb to the point of waking me up every 15 minutes. The surgery was a success as I had the 5,6,7 discs in my neck fused. I was out of the hospital in just over 12 hours. He came to my room before the surgery and after the surgery. He talked to my wife also on the side. He fought the insurance company to help get me my bone stimulator which the insurance company didn't want to pay for. He was always informative and answered all my questions without trying to shoe me away, he took his time and this was important to me. But the story doesn't end here, it takes one year for full healing, five months after the surgery I got rear ended by a flat bed tow truck, my tingling came back in my fingers then my hand. He found that my neck was fine but my carpel was severe, seven months earlier it was mild. He repaired that and the trigger finger that I ended up with. Thank you Dr

This place is an absolute joke, unfortunately they r the only place in the area that takes our ins. Have had to reschedule 3 times to see this doctor barrick guy. After waiting a min. Of an hour. DR. BARRICK IS A JOKE. Today. 10/24/2018 at 11:45 AM. we had our appointment and I am here writing this review. After 30+ mins of waiting in the exam room he came in very loud and speaking a mile a minute. My grandmother has been suffering with nerve pain in her back for years. Dr. Barrick immediately referred back surgery to her. Today we came back for a follow up after an EMG test she needed done. He didn’t discuss the results with her. Only wanted to talk about surgery. She refuses to have surgery and today he stated that if she doesn’t do the surgery she will continue with her cane, then eventually have to move to a walker, then a wheel chair until eventually ending up in A NURSING HOME. Are you kidding me?! WHOEVER SAID THAT A NURSING HOME WAS THE FINAL ANSWER AFTER REJECTING HIS SURGERY. how dare he use manipulative strategies to convince others so he can get his way and his money. He said there’s absolutely nothing else we can do for the pain. No injection. No therapy. Nothing else besides surgery. I disagree 100%. ZERO BEDSIDE MANOR. ZERO REGARD FOR HIS PATIENTS. Oh and another thing. He said he did 4 surgeries today. Our appointment was at 11:45 AM. He came in around 12:40. We saw him at his desk while walking into the exam room. I had a very good experience with Dr Barrick in 2017. He takes his time with patients which means that sometimes he runs late with his appointments. I am grateful for the time he spent with me answering all my questions and explaining my condition. I didn't mind that on another occasion I had to wait a couple of hours. He set very realistic expectations about the outcome of my surgery and delivered 100%. Unfortunately Orthopedic Associates isn't great with their billing and post operative care processes. But that's not Dr. Barrick; it's the practice that needs improvement. I had a very good experience with Dr Barrick in 2017. Excessive wait time, did not want to see prior MRI scans, based findings (rather quickly) on office x rays and brief exam, sent me on my way with wrist splints,a referral for physical therapy, and a script for medications I didn't want. I got no real answers or plan for my degenerative condition.

Doctor barrick shoots just for surgery instead of listen to his patients.his bed side manner are terrible he rushes as soon as he gets in the room .he trys talking over acting like he knows your pain better then you do an in a rude way.we dicussed a surgery agreement saying i would be back to work in 2 weeks after surgery witch i thought seemed not right for spine surgery of the neck an once i got to hosiptal he was going to do a possible fusion witch would have kept me out of work for a 6 month an possible never turn my neck normal again . very rude at the hosiptal for not having it done he said i wasted everyones time but not caring about my health or needs or wants .i was told by other people i was a very lucky person for not having him do it. First there is no bedside manner, cockey, physically rough with my elderly Mom. Waiting time is 1 - 2 hours. Double books. Lies about scheduling and appointments times, complains about patients to other patients. One nurse was very rude and incompetent. Other nurses and staff were great. Do not see him - there are plenty of other choices. Another Dr described him as liking his patients unconscious and on the table. We have been there 3 or 4 times and its the last time. Dr. Barrick saw my 8 year old son for a wrist ingury and after reviewing an X-ray stated my son needed surgery that very same day. He also spoke about nerve damage and possible pins. There were no alternatives to surgery and before I knew it I was presented paperwork to sign to have this person operate on my son. His demeniour was cold and borderline rude. Dr. Barrick was quick and didn't take much time to clearly explain what was happening. I had inquired about a watercast and was informed that I needed to to go to a surgical supply store and find Gortex. If I could find this Gortex he would wrap my sons cast in it. After some research Gortex isn't something available to every day people and after also speaking with someone in the medical field this option didn't even make any sense nor would it work. I left the office but after coming home, piecing things together and reading Dr. Barricks reviews I canceled the surgery and went for a second opinion. I had to fight with them to have my sons X-ray faxed to another Dr. Dr. Barrick left me a very inappropriate, disturbing unprofessional message after he found out I wasn't going forward with the surgery. The Dr. accused me of neglecting my sons health while truly I was protecting him from such an evil butcher! Turns out after a second opinion by another Dr. my son did NOT need surgery nor did the Dr have any concern about long term damage let alone any nerve damage. My son had a water proof cast put on while this Dr took the time to speak to us and also provided options. Dr Barrick is a disgrace and should lose his license. He validated that most Doctors push surgery while only after money and certainly not having the patients best interest at heart. Absolute disgrace!! Do not use this man! Dr. Barrick did a great job. I have spinal stenosis and needed significant work. He set reasonable expectations on what would happen, and I got great results. He does sometimes runs late for his appointments; however, it is because he is spending so much time with his patients. I'd much rather wait for the doctor that will take time, then be rushed by one who is watching the clock. He is serious, detailed, technical and focused -- That's what I want in a surgeon.

After being in a car accident I saw2 orthopedic doctors for my back all of which dismissed that the pain was coming from the thoracic back. I then saw Dr. Barack who was very surprised I was told that the upper and lower back more showed the middle back. He ordered an MRI which showed a badly herniated disc in the T5 region which was causing pain and loss of strength in my right side. On top of that he found 1 herniated and 2 buldging discs in my neck and herniated disc in my lower back all from the accident . Why the neck theses other doctors didn't see anything looking at the same MRI is beyond me, if these discs were not fixed there was a chance or paralysis down the road. Dr. Barracks expertise and knowledge is beyond compare I would recommend him to anyone if you want a proper diagnosis and treatment he is your guy. A little abrupt but very smart. He is all business , as long as you know that going in your going to love this doc. This doctor had an extremely arrogant, hostile demeanor and in the space of one visit managed to humiliate the patient by asking her to undress in front of him with no nurse present, and terrorize her with disturbing comments. His remarks about her condition were in opposition of every specialist she had seen. He has a poor reputation in local area. He referenced amputations and blood loss when she approached him for a routine evaluation. Avoid him.

Dr. Barrick is the WORST orthopedic surgeon in the WORLD!! He operated on my husband's back about 2 1/2 years ago & we have had to have 2 additional surgeries to correct the MESS he did to him. As a matter of fact, my husband is in a hospital in NYC right this minute having the 3rd fusion surgery to his back to repair the DAMAGE this BUM did to him. If you love your family member, don't go near Barrack!! You will regret it, unfortunately. Endless pain was caused by this inadequate QUACK!

Does not care about patients, or what they have to say. Just trying to get most patients in for most money. Took months to get appt, wait 2 hours for Dr to come in, and appt lasts under 2 mins. He did not let me speak to say whats going on, just rushed through pointless physical tests and was done. Took xrays, I had to wait 2 months to go back for results and he didn't even mention them, just told me to continue what I'm doing, (even though still in pain). Worst doctor ive ever seen.

I delt with Dr, Dimarco or how ever you spell his name. This guy from the very begining rubbed me the wrong way. He does not educate you on any part of the surgury. After the surgury he told me i had to travel to the poughkeepsie office to get fitted for a brace so I did what I was told. About 6 weeks later i received a Bill for close to $900.00 dollars for this brace that cost $65.00 at CVS...This place is filled with rude and hateful liars who try and sneak in as much as they can get from the insurance companies and double charge the client.
