Dr. Wayne E Vanderkolk

I've had Dr. Vanderkolk perform 2 surgeries on me in about five years. Both have been very successful. One was recent, but seems to be fully resolved. The other was years ago. I had a cyst that had caused misery for many years before I finally gave in and had it removed. I have not had a moment of trouble since. Recovery has been easy with both surgeries. If you have a problem and need to fix it, I recommend Dr. Vanderkolk.

I had the privilege of working with Dr. Vanderkolk for many years. He was consistently regarded by physicians and nurses as compassionate, intelligent, and skilled.

Extremely rude and dismisses the reasons I was referred to a surgeon for. Undermines my general practitioner and sends me home with no answers 2 times now.

This is the best doctor I know. He is outstanding in every way. I highly recommend him. He is very talented and most thoughtful.

BEWARE! Extremely incompetent!!!

Fix my hernia but caused another issue. I visited him and he just told me this was normal and would improve. It did not, damage is permanent, I did not go back!

I do not encourage anyone to see this doctor. I went in for one surgery and still had problems with it for the next year bleeding. Also, after that surgery another cut was on another area of my anus that was not there before. I went back then he said he would do fissure surgery. This was 5 months ago and i still bleed. Also, another cut showed up after surgery on another part of my anus. These cuts were made by him at the time of surgery. He denied them and said they were fissures.

Dr. Vanderkolk helped me with a painful hernia. I look and feel so much better. Thanks!

Dr Vanderkolk pre-op seemed very knowledgeable and helpful. Post-op was the Exact opposite! His "Let the body heal itself" method led us to a staff infection, and when we called to be seen for this him and his staff said "You'll be fine". We are still currently being treated at a Wound Clinic 5 months later, and when confronted by ourselves and another physician he got defensive and rude!

Doctor W. Vanderkolk did my surgery 2008 I was very satisfied and happy. I'm able to enjoy a happy lifestyle now. Thank you

Worst Doctor in Grand Rapids. Refuses to help patients with difficult medical issues. He's in it for the money and not to help people with medical issues.

Dr Vanderkolk performed surgery on me in January. I had to be readmitted for 8 days for complications that he noted to be constipation. He has yet to explain what he did to correct anything and talks to me as though I'm a farm animal. I am still struggling to get through each day as I feel miserable ever since the surgery.
