I was experiencing pain in both hip areas 3-4 years ago and my primary care physician referred me to an orthopedist. While my PCP diagnosed my condition, the orthopedist didn't provide me much in terms of how to recover from trochanteric bursitis other than a faded printout of exercises. The pain returned and was worse late last year. It rendered me unable to do my daily long walks. Since I had a very good experience with Texas Orthopedics, Sports and Rehabilitation on a severe ankle sprain years ago, I decided to call them. I made an appointment with Dr. Vishal Kancherla a week later. Upon arrival at the Quarry Lake location, patient registration took a bit of time, but the front receptionist was friendly and helpful. My appointment started with a brief conversation with the physician's assistant, then I was taken to get an X-ray of my pelvic area from two angles. Dr. Kancherla introduced himself and was very friendly and professional. He showed my X-rays to me and discussed his findings very clearly. There was one issue discovered, a disc degeneration but Dr. Kancherla listened to me explain my symptoms, pain, and a prior experience with trochanteric bursitis. He provided a thorough examination and agreed that the trochanteric bursitis was indeed the issue at the moment. He offered three solutions to help with my recovery, of which two are already making a marked improvement in my mobility and daily life. I look forward to beginning physical therapy soon on my road to recovery. I have confidence in Dr. Kancherla that he will take good care of me regarding the disc degeneration if that becomes an issue. Thank you very much, Dr. Kancherla.

Doctor Kancherla is so good and made me feel absolutely comfortable. My experience was the best.

I so appreciate Dr Kancherla. He listens well, doesn't apply pressure, gives thoughtful consideration and works with me to develop an appropriate treatment plan. He and his staff are fairly efficient and the schedule runs pretty much on time. It's easy to recommend Dr Kancherla.

Dr. Kancherla has been helping me with my spine issues for about a year now. He has kept me very informed on what my options are and we are making great progress correcting the problem. He does a great job making you comfortable with the procedures and he uses great care while working on you. I highly recommend Dr. Kancherla and Texas Orthopedics! Very happy with the progress we are making with my treatment!

Dr Kancherla has been an incredible help to me. Not only is he very knowledgeable and professional; he has been kind & caring as he has helped me go from a person who could hardly stand through my shower due to unbelievable back pain to a person who can function in her life at at higher degree, mostly without or in significantly less pain! I have been a with Dr. Kancherla for a number of years. I had a lot of pain on my right side, going from by back to my toes. Dr. Kancherla always has my concerns answers and continues to care about my discomfort. I have tried many procedures to ease the consistent pain and unfortunately, they did not last long. We discussed the Spinal Cord Simulator. First I needed to do a trial. I was nervous and scared, but the results were so worth the experience!! The consistent pain in many locations had gone. I felt so comfortable, I was able to tippy toe, which I hadn’t been able to do over 5 years. My walking gait has improved. I am so please Dr Kancherla referred me to the Spinal Cord Stimulator. Dr. Kancherla has been my pain control physician since I had back surgery in 2013. He was recommended to me by my orthopedic surgeon. I am well pleased with his care and his dedication to keeping my pain level as minimal as possible. He will work together with you to find the best solution for your pain control.

I have submit all information prior checking online. When I came to the office they ask me all the same question I already submitted and the medicine is double because the medicine they gave is same as the medicine Im taking.

The entire staff at Texas Orthopedic are capable, efficient and friendly. Enough time is afforded for your evaluation and treatment. I recommend them with confidence.

I have met Dr Kancherla when things with my back pain was going south. Beginning of 2020, I tried to schedule an appointment with my current doctor at the time, but there was no spots available, And I am so glad that there was not. I had a chance to meet an outstanding doctor, with a conservative approach, always aiming to balance reducing the pain vs maintaining your body status quo. He has always an educated opinion about everything, and never let you leave the office without a plan. Believe me, I could list several doctors I have seen for the same back problem in the last 2 years, and half of them would either suggest a big surgery or dismiss me with “I’m sorry, there is nothing I can do”. Sometimes I think God puts people in our path so they can make the difference, and I believe this is the case. After several pain shots, RFA, physical therapy etc, Doctor Kancherla offered me to go through a trial for Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) . I had the opportunity to have that temporarily implanted, and see how would that work in a week. It was a success. During the trial period, I got daily calls from the rep, his clinic, the surgery center and from himself. The SCS is programmed in the surgery center and reprogramed after 2 days so you can find the perfect tune. My daily lower back pain has been reduced aprox 60%. I was able to run daily chores I haven’t been able to do lately, to work in my office chair again, to exercise pain free (you are not suppose to exercise while trying that out). Today, after 6 days of trial, the device has been removed and I am set to implant it permanently. I can’t wait to get quality life back, to play tennis with friends and exercise regularly. Doctor Kancherla did a fantastic job when I needed relief from a pinched nerve. Very knowledgeable in his field. I received a shot near my lower neck that is helping tremendously. Dr. Kancherla is a great doctor. He listened to me and answered all my questions. I trust Dr. Kancherla and will recommend him to my friends.

I am a 60 year old woman. I saw Dr Kanchurla for back pain. After X-rays he recommended steroid injection. But gave zero information on side effects. A week later I began to have unexplained vaginal bleeding. My gyno immediately got me into the office for a sonogram and biopsy as this is a dangerous symptom of cancer for post menopausal women. While awaiting the results I did internet research and an article came up about steroid injections and bleeding in pm women. I immediately called Dr Kancherla and he confirmed that it is a side effect and I shouldn’t worry that it would probably resolve itself. If he had taken the time to give me the proper information about potential side effects in his office I would have never have had to undergo a painful and very expensive gynecological procedure. He failed to give me thorough info just shot me up and sent me on my way. I have bills of over $2000 insurance doesn’t cover. I would never trust him as a dr or surgeon. Beware.

Dr. Kancherla is a caring, knowledgeable orthopedic specialist who I would recommend to anyone. I recently received a PRP injection but I have seen him on several occasions for chronic arthritis and he has helped me.

Thoughtful and highly competent physician that takes his time to answer questions and explain with relevant examples. Dr. Kancherla twice managed to accommodate me on short notice and is by far the most responsive physician I have encountered to date.

My experiences with Dr. Kancherla have been extremely positive. The diagnosis was detailed and accurate, and the treatment has been successful (neck injury). Also, the staff at both the office and surgical center was top notch.

Unfortunately for me, this was my second trip to Texas Orthopedics. I can say with confidence that I trust them to fix the problem and to do so with warmth and kindness. First visit (years ago) was with Dr. Hart and he fixed up my torn ACL. This last trip (a few days ago) was for a pinched nerve. Dr. Kancherla explained it clearly including time to show me my x-rays. Dr. Kancherla is definitely one of the kindest and most caring doctors I have ever visited! He listens extremely well, asks questions and gives me choices of what can be done to alleviate my pain. I would not hesitate to recommend him to any of my family or friends.

Per reviews Dr sounds wonderful. Now the staff setting appointments is aweful. Referred to Kancherla after a botched ablation by Dr Gutierrez. I have been in excruciating pain since August and am absolutely desperate at this point. I have to sit on a barstool to cook to do dishes and move a stoll arohnd my home to sweep or vacuum. Just trying to get an appt for ortho evaluation to see what could be dobe to help. Yeah not happening, my primary cares offuce even commiented on rudeness from Jenny at the Kyle office. I have been experiencing right side flank pain for almost 9 years. I have had 7 abdominal surgeries for endometriosis and cystectomies on my right ovary. So for a long time no one could figure out where the pain was coming from and then I started having issues with kidney stones. However the kidney stones were quite small and all the urologist I saw told me that it could not be my kidney causing the pain. My gynecologist couldn't tell where the pain was coming from either so after seeing multiple specialist over multiple years I finally was referred to Dr. Kancherla. First let me start off by saying that he has an extremely positive attitude he went right to the source of the pain up under my rib cage and immediately thought that it might be a displaced rib. He was the first person to actually touch the area he did an x-ray and then probably within less than 25 minutes I was diagnosed after nine years of dealing with his agony the pain. Though I know it might not completely cure everything that I'm dealing with I am extremely grateful that he took the time to find the answer to something I've never been so excited to find out that I had a slipped rib!! I’ve seen Dr Kancherla for years and have been extremely happy with the level of care I receive from him. My only complaint is that lately he has.a PA who handles his appointments. Personally I prefer to see a doctor not a PA.

I was referred to Dr. Kancherla for pain management after being diagnosed with spinal stenosis (L4 and L5) and some bone deterioration as well. After a failed surgery and many injections, my condition is worsening and I had decisions to make, surgery or spinal cord stimulator. I wanted to learn more about the spinal cord stimulator device as I was hearing about it for the first time. I met with Dr. Kancherla and he patiently explained how it works. He also suggested I speak to a surgeon to help make my decision. I did and I opted for the device. The trial period went great with about an 80-90 % decrease in pain. I am currently recovering from my spinal cord device surgery and I feel great. Thank you to Dr. Kancherla and to the staff at the Texas Orthopedics Round Rock. Dr Vishal Kancherla was referred to me by my Neurosurgeon for Back Pain. In one visit & 2 shots in the spine, I already feel 50% better. I know the pain will gradually come back, but for now I can walk again. He’s very patient, knowledgeable & so is his staff. They made it easy for me to make appointments at the location I wanted. I have experienced back pain since my 40’s, and I’ve tried physical therapy which has been very helpful but unable to stop the progression of my conditions nor the pain accompanying them. I was referred to Dr Vishal Kancherla for pain management many years ago and he has made such a difference. He has given me steroid epidural injections as needed and for many years I could manage my pain. Until the injections stopped working about a year ago. Dr Kancherla knew of a procedure which could possibly be very helpful. He placed the trial spinal cord stimulator on my spine and the generator battery was also connected to an iPod for regulating the stimulation. The trial is required and I’m glad because that allowed me to experience what it could do if surgically and permanently implanted in my spine. I feel grateful for Dr Kancherla and to all of the nurses and staff who participated in this process. And, during the course of the one week trial, I was simply amazed at the pain reduction. I found myself moving in ways I’ve not been able to do. One evening my husband started playing his guitar as often he does, but I just started moving around and really dancing. I’ve always had 5-star experiences at Texas Orthopedics Round Rock and it continues to be so! Because I needed to schedule multiple specialties appointments so I visited their office earlier in week and was warmly welcomed & flawlessly assisted by front arena professional ERICA! Then, at my two days of appointments, I interacted with ANGIE, DANIELLA, MARQUIA, all unfalteringly friendly, accommodating, great communicators! ERICA, X-Ray expert, was delightful and communicated patiently as she expertly facilitated my many x-rays! My appointment with highly credentialed “interventional physiatrist & spine specialist” VISHAL KANCHERLA, DO, possesses a warm gracious communications manner that puts one at ease immediately. This practice has exceptional surgical skills in tandem with exceptional people skills! They have an easy to maneuver website that’s beautifully executed, very informative and I love the classy embellishments like the bio-videos of each physician!

He was stopping me while I was answering his questions to dictate his chart to his scribe. I felt rushed and did not like his bedside manner. I did not schedule a procedure with him due to this.

Dr. Kancherla is an awesome doctor. He addresses all my concerns each time I have an appointment. Together we come up with a treatment plan that is right for me. I could not have been referred to a better doctor.

Dr. Kancherla is highly recommended he explained the extent of my injuries, and cares for his patients. He explained the plan to fix me, recovery process. He saw my MRI's on my neck and shoulder. He was never in a hurry, excellent job of developing a doctor patient relationship. A steriod injection in my shoulder a epidual steriod injection in my neck instantly free of pain. Some slight residual pain, but not what I did therapy prescribed by him will take care of it. Trust him.

Really nice, very sincere, doctor and staff. They got me right in after seeing my C-spine x-ray and last week Dr. Kancherla flawlessly performed an interlaminar epidural steroid injection with the help of the wonderful folks at Texas Orthopedics Surgical Center. Years ago as Chief X-Ray tech in a full service out-patient radiology office where we often assisted neurosurgeons in this type of procedure I now feel I can highly recommend Dr. K and crew for their impeccable skill and compassion.

Dr. K is the best. I have been dealing with head, neck, and back issues for years. He has found the combination of therapies that have made me almost pain free. Since my issues are chronic, I appreciate all he does. He has a wonderful mannner and I would recommend him and the staff any time.
