ZERO stars for the BILLING DEPARTMENT OF COLON RECTAL SURGICAL ASSOCIATES, VINCENT CIFELLO. I am on a payment plan and twice they have charged my credit card without authorization from me, for two different amounts. Hey, okay if you charge the agreed upon amount, but $900 and $400 dollars on separate occasions. You're asking for trouble. Whomever does the billing needs a new job, because obviously they don't know what they are doing. I am going to the Better Business Bureau regarding this business practice. UPDATE: Didn't see the company on the BBB website, so I'm filing a complaint with the Maryland Board of Physicians. Hopefully, the office will find suitable support staff.

I can not praise the professionalism and outstanding support of Dr. Cifello and his staff enough. 5 stars plus plus!! Dr Cifello treated my husband for a very complicated medical problem a couple years ago and was wonderful in his treatment. This past year I had issues with serious recurring diverticulitis which ultimately required surgery. I called Dr Cifello. As he had done with my husband, Dr Cifello clearly explained what was going on that created the chaos going on in my body, and clearly explained his plan of treatment and the surgery I needed so I knew exactly what to expect. I had my surgery on February 8th and everything went beautifully. Dr Cifello and his staff where consistently caring and helpful. If you ever need medical care of his expertise, I can not praise highly enough! He also does colonoscopies and highly recommend for that procedure as well.

I struggled with a fissure for a year before visiting and discussing the surgery. After trying all other alternatives to resolve the issue, I decided to go through with the surgery. Everything from the start with him and his office staff was pleasant and professional. Everything about the procedure was explained to me and I never felt any pressure to make a decision until I was ready. Everything went well during the procedure and literally the next day, I felt no spasms or pain. If you’re struggling with the same issue and have tried every alternative with no success, I highly recommend you schedule a call. Life in fear of the next time you’ll have to use the bathroom is not a pleasant one. I was scared of the idea of a surgery at first since this was my first surgery but looking back, I would have done it sooner. I’m so glad to have my life back and it’s all thanks to Dr. Cifello.

Met with Dr Cifello and discussed my next step from my surgery in December. I need more surgery and was very pleased with my visit/appointment. This was a second opinion and confirmed I need surgery. Dr. Cifello took over an hour and set up with appointment for the follow up on my blood clot and a CT scan to proceed with more surgery. Glad I am in his care

Dr. Cifello is an excellent surgeon and very careful and experienced in his analysis before my personal diagnosis. Finally after many years of discomfort I feel a great relief thanks to him and great office staff.

I am not a fan of white coats! Dr. Cifello is amazing, he will not sugar coat anything. He states what needs to happen and works to get you back to health. Anne and Kathy are some of the best front desk I came with no primary doctor and needing surgery, they work with me to get all the pre-op appointments setup. After a eight month period of time getting the first surgery to remove part of my colon, having a bag and now reconnection. I would never have believed how much better I feel. Worst doctor ever. Never returns phone calls. Been waiting since November 24th, 2021 for test results. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Just let me state that the reviews for Dr Cifello are all true. Dr Cifello performed a colon re-section on July 22nd and he was available to answer any questions that I had after surgery. I no longer have any discomfort with the issues of diverticulitis that were present before surgery. I will honestly recommend Dr Cifello to anyone that needs a surgeon, and he will keep you relaxed with his sense of humor. I had a 9+ lb baby in Dec 2020 who really did a number on me. Dr. Cifello got me in quickly while still on maternity leave and at every step attempted the least invasive intervention possible. When an in-office procedure did not fix my symptoms despite his best efforts, he was able to schedule me for surgery quickly. The surgical center is lovely and I had NO post-op pain, which was such a pleasant surprise. After the surgery Dr. Cifello even went out to the parking lot to update my husband, who could not come in due to COVID. The procedure completely resolved my symptoms. I felt like I was in the best hands the whole time. Dr. Cifello's staff, Ann and Patty, are also so kind and I was always in and out of his office with no wait. Dr Cifello is an excellent surgeon. He’s very patient and skilled and did his best to make me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Three weeks post-fistulotomy I’ve been cleared, and he said it’s almost completely healed. His office staff is also very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Great surgeon, had surgery in July to fix a very long, ongoing problem that was misdiagnosed by a previous doctor. Healing time was better than anticipated, highly recommended.

Dr Cifello performed a Colon Resection on me 10 yrs ago. He is absolutely AMAZING! Great personality, absolute fantastic surgeon, wondeful accessability & follow-up. Have had NO MORE ABDOMINAL ISSUES! I have had 3 colonoscopies since & my gastroenterologist marvels at the surgery by Dr Cifello. I had laprascopic, much less invasive but still a very major surgery. First 2 wks very painful but next 4 wks of healing went very smoothly! Thank you Dr Cifello for your great expertise & changing my life for the better! No more worry, abdominal pains & antibiotics! He also did a FANTASTIC job on removing a very persistent polinoidal (sp?) cyst in my son's derriere area 6 years ago. Great follow-up, cyst healed wonderfully, no more problems at all! Dr. Cifello seemed to be knowledgeable and temporarily resolved my hemorrhoids with several rubber bad ligations hence the 2 stars. Unfortunately the internal hemorrhoids are back again after 18 months and getting worse again. However his bed side manners were lacking with tendency for sarcasm and condescending tone. This made talking to him to be a chore. Dr. Cifello also down played post surgery pain and recovery time. He provided a quick verbal consult after the 1minute procedure. Would have been great if he provided info and instructions on a handout or website for a procedure he has probably performed hundreds of times instead of leaving patients to find answers on their own. I called his Glen Burnie staff with a simple question I forgot to ask during the consult but never got a reply.

An excellent surgeon with a remarkable bedside manner exuberating optimism. Very thorough in explaining and performing the procedure. 5 out of 5 with no doubt.

I am giving my testimony because I also like to read reviews before schedule my appoitments. Dr. Cifello can be a very skilled physician/surgeon but I didn't like to talk to him. Actually I hated it! I never felt so annoyed talking to a physician before. I have a Thrombosed hemorrhoids (that's what he said). I went to see him because I had a very hard time 2 weeks ago, my hemorrhoid was killing me. The very first time I noticed that I had hemorrhoids was during my pregnancy. It just started bothering me after I delivered my baby. But after 2.5 years (2 weeks ago) I started having lots of pain that I couldn't even seat but over the counter top medications actually worked fine. Anyways, my husband said I should see a doctor.I found Dr. Cifello passive-agressive. He kept saying annoying things that was not suposed to be said. I just wanted to know how I should address my issue, and if a surgery would be necessary or in-office procedure could solve the issue. I'll never more see him again.

I had been suffering with Diverticulitis off and on since 2010 and recently the antibiotics weren't working anymore, so my Gastro doctor referred me to Dr. Cifello. When I called his office I got an appointment within two days and when I saw him, he had already received my ultrasounds records and went over them with me in more detail than any doctor ever had and he said that he would operate on me within a week to remove the abscess. True to his word, he set his staff in motion and on 8 May, he conducted a Robotic Sigmoidectomy on me with great success. I'm in my third week of recovery and doing very well. I had a minor but painful and disturbing problem intermittently for a decade. The last several years it became a everyday problem. I tried many diet changes and mild laxative rounds with little success. I went to his office several times before surgery he did not push it and recommended other alternatives first. I was experiencing the most horrific pain of my life, and was unable to sleep. Having been misdiagnosed at an urgent care facility, the steps I had taken to heal the issue I was experiencing actually made it worse. My mom and I had called gastroenterologists all over Maryland and been told to wait a few days for an appointment (which could have made the procedure I underwent today riskier, and exacerbated the pain I was experiencing). Luckily, we were eventually told we would simply get the run around unless we went to a colon rectal surgeon, and we were referred to this establishment. Not only did they find a way to get me in there for an examination within an hour of us calling, Doctor Cifello quickly properly diagnosed the problem and determined the necessary procedure, and made it possible for me to receive this surgery which has turned my pain from a 10 into a light, clearly healing, 2, on the same day. Dr.Cifello is awsome. A very skilled surgeon with excellent outcomes for his patients. I have been his patient for many years and also worked with him directly in a clinical (Hospital ) setting. As a recovery room R.N. for many years have had the experience of working directly at the bedside with Dr.Cifello and recovery of his surgical patients. His care and concern of his patients is a priorty for Dr. Cifello ,beside being a "Very-Skilled" surgeon. The Best of the Best !!!

I found Dr. Cifello through my insurance site. I did some research and found he came highly reviewed by previous patients. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and took as much time with me as I needed in order to understand my options. I had been hesitant to see a surgeon about my issue, thinking the odds are he's going to recommend surgery. But Dr. Cifello actually said in my case he would not recommend surgery at this point, unless the symptoms got worse. I'd highly recommend Dr. Cifello.

I had an all around great experience with Dr. Cifello at a difficult time. He was patient with all my questions and thorough in his explanations. Very trustworthy and straightforward doctor. I ended up requiring surgery, which he performed quickly and effectively. *knock on wood* all issues seems to be resolved two weeks post-op.

I would recommend Dr. Cifello for a variety of reasons. Most importantly because he shows a genuine concern for your well being and exhibits a high level of professionalism. He meet with me, explained what needed to be done and why. At no time did I ever feel rushed and he took the time to make sure I was comfortable. Most importantly he took care of the issue and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. His staff was also very helpful in every step of the procedure.

Dr. Cifello performed my laparoscopic colon resection in July of 2016. I met with him several times before the surgery and he always gave me as much time as I needed to ask questions and gave me confidence in his knowledge and abilities. The surgery went very well, I had zero complications post-surgery, and my recovery went smoothly & quickly. My experience at the hospital (BWMC) was very good also. I highly recommend Dr. Cifello, you are in good hands with him...he's an excellent surgeon!

Dr. Ciffelo is the reason I am alive &well today.I suffered from a female mass that perforated to my colon.We had a tough journey,but he promised to make me better & he did.Through 8 surgeries, including an emergency ileostomy, due to the complexity of my condition, he did everything to make me comfortable & at ease. He has always been honest, caring, & comforting. We have laughed, cried, griped, &celebrated together.He not only has the necessary skill,he has the desired bedside manner as well.

Dr. Cifello was very thorough explaining the procedure as well has my hospital stay and recuperation. The surgery went well and I feel much better after having the procedure. My procedure was performed due to chronic Diverticulitis.
