Vijaya Peddu

Dr. Peddu can be very helpful, and has been to us, but we never know what we’re going to get when we have an appointment. Sometimes she is conversational and engaging and asks a lot of questions about the past month, sometimes she is rushed, cuts us off mid sentence and is very short. Sometimes scripts are called in quickly and accurately, sometimes revised dosing isn’t adjusted at the pharmacy after numerous calls. I realize child psychiatrists are few are far between and overworked, so I try not to complain, but it is frustrating when all you want to solid, consistent car for your kid. I speak up a lot and don’t allow things to fall through the cracks, but I’d like Dr Peddu to be more consistent and caring and the office staff to do so as well.

Not only did Dr. Peddu help me with my bipolar disorder but she found the right medicines too. Dr. Peddu told me what she can do to get out of my bipolar episodes. She gives you the medicines and leads you to help. It's a matter of finding what works. Before I went to her I was very miserable. I learned if you want to be happy you need to work with the medicine. Bipolar won't go away alone unresolved. Neither will any other condition.

My close friend starting seeing Dr Peddu in 2019. Seven prescriptions later, he has lost his job and can’t get out of bed or even function for that matter as she has him so heavily sedated. His life is spiraling and she refuses to lower the dosages of any of these. Come to find out, many of these interact and create Severe dependency. She is tone deaf to the needs of her clients in my opinion. I am watching as a bystander and it is very sad to see how these drugs destroy lives and that these doctors are willing accomplices.

I am a physician. I brought my son to Dr. Peddu. This was 6 years ago. He was suffering from Asperger’s. She was horribly poor in way she told him that he had Asperger’s. It should have been done gentler. Not “You have Asperger’s.” She should read T. Atwood’s Complete Guide to Asperger’s. She could have focused not on the diagnosis but what he was suffering from and that a medication could be tried and would often be of help. My son was able to find another psychiatrist who treats him with respect. I will acknowledge that my son is sensitive. It is not unusual for a patient to disagree with a diagnosis. He had a psychologist who said that he hoped she prescribed meds better than the counseling skills she shows.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They could care less about their patients. I had broken my ankle and could not come in. They made me come in in a wheelchair to get a refill because she won't speak to anyone over the phone. She gave me enough medicine to last me for a few months. Just called because my prescription was about to run out. They said since I haven't been there in so long I need to come in again; that I'm not even considered a patient anymore. I said why am I being penalized? She was the one that gave me enough medicine to last. Now when I want to come in it's too long in between? I explained that I had just broken my other ankle and it is really hard to leave the house. They did not care one teeny tiny bit. Not only did they not care how difficult it would be to come in they told me now I would be considered a new patient and need to do a new evaluation for $150 CASH! They are crooks. Only care about money and not the patient. They said insurance works that way. Funny cause after that I called my old doctor from over a year ago. Got an appointment with the same co-pay with no issue at all!

She knows how to deal with teenagers

I've been seeing Dr Peddu for about 5 years now. She is medicine management. She sees gets a diagnostic of your symptoms, tries different meds, & monitors your behavior. Getting the right cocktail is a process, & she has tried meds on me & I explained to her my med history. She checks to see if I would get better & adjust as needed. Yes your appointments are 5 min but if you need counseling it is easier to have a shrink & her then the combination that is a 6 month waiting list.

Unless the patient displays evidence of a very treatable form of depression, anxiety, or another well-known diagnostic codes, Dr. Peddu will refuse to treat them. I sent a neurological report from a previous harvard-educated neurologist, as well as the paperwork from my former psych doc. Dr. Peddu accepted my copay and told me she would advise, then waited two weeks before saying she wouldn't prescribe controlled substances that I've been on for years. She treats patients like addicts.

Made appointment in same week, attentive staff, they helped me with my medications being approved quickly. DR Peddu made me feel safe and listened to me.

Very disappointed with Dr.Peddu and her staff. Front desk staff are unfriendly and rude. During my very first appointment, Dr. P spent 5 minutes with me max. She asked about my current symptoms only.She was not thorough, did not ask about my mental health history or my family health history. I was being seen for depression and she didn't even ask if I was suicidal! That is Psyc 101. She was quick to diagnose me and send me out the door with a RX. I felt worse after i left :( I will not go back

I like dr peddu she spends lot of time and I am feeling lot better I went in the past to so many different doctors I didn't lke

rushes you out the door, does not ask specific questions about my symptoms and how medication has been managing it. Doesn't ask me about other conditions that I have. Strictly there to write a prescription. Sees 5 patients in 15 minutes (I've counted). Plus side is she has a lot of appointment availability.

I wrote a previous review and left a one star. But when I went back a second time, everything was different. She is helpful and I guess I would recommend her to others.

I am a former patient of Dr. Peddu. I was going to go back but her office staff are rude and obnoxious. Jessica at the front desk and Kelly who handles billing do not know how to speak to patients with respect. The billing girl has a major attitude and the front desk girl talks over you and then is 'surprised' when you have to raise your voice to speak over her. They are like obnoxious little snots. They also lie when confronted. If the Dr allows this, then that speaks to her character.

She is frank and no frills, but saved me from my anxiety! She was recommended by my therapist and I'm so happy for that. I would recommend her. The staff in her office aren't as good as she is, but that is being worked on (she is not the only one in Behavioral Solutions).
