Dr. Hsu listens and is compassionate. He always takes the time to answer all my questions and addresses my concerns

After surgery to get rid of pain caused by spinal stenosis, all of the pain is returning. Dr. Hsu hasn't apologized for this (even in a vague, empathetic way) and keeps blaming my symptoms on other things despite all signs pointing to his surgery being a failure. Which has been confirmed by a second opinion for a doctor at a different practice. Also, of the six or so new doctors that I've seen over the last year or so, Dr. Hsu has been the hardest to reach and hardest to make appointments with in a timely manner.

Dr. Hsu helped me regain some relief in my hands by performing a 2nd level ACDF. I am writing this to say that he has followed up with me and was honest enough to tell me the truth, that I cannot continue in my passion (career of law enforcement) due to my injuries from a vehicle accident. I left his office very sad but I realized that he is trying to save my life. He even observed my mental state and instructed me to seek an expert to speak with for my depression. If you have any spine issues he is the BEST in the field.

Dr Hsu is AMAZING...so is his team...Dr Kevin (can't remember last name) and Jenn. When I went to Dr Hsu he diagnosed my problem and moved his schedule around in order to perform surgery asap. His compassion and caring manner helped me realize how critical my condition and surgery was scheduled in 2 weeks. It was a difficult surgery 10 screws and 2 rods but I must say I recovered quickly and have full range of motion in my neck and no pain. Dr Hsu and his team were simply amazing and I totally recommend. Thank you for being there for me and getting me through the toughest thing I ever had to face.

I had an initial visit and wait time was not extremely long. I felt Dr. HSU genuinely wanted to answer all my questions.

The doctor kept me informed and was candid about my orthopedic options, honest and was informative in his field of expertise. It was pleasure to meet Dr. HSu.

My initial meeting with Dr Hsu was very comforting and reassuring. I have great confidence in his skills as a caring and compassionate surgeon and look forward to having the surgery and getting my life back again. Now that it's been three months post surgery I'm in a much better place thanks to Dr. Hsu. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a spinal surgeon, not only is Dr. Hsu a terrific surgeon but he's also a very genuine and caring man.

Dr Hsu reviewed my test and patiently explained my options for treatment. I felt very comfortable with the decisions made. I would recommend him to anyone .

Dr. Hsu performed my back surgery on Feb 14, 2022 at Abington. He stated prior to me getting the surgery that he felt that I could be around 80-85% after the surgery. I felt those were good odds considering I was about 35-40% at the time and over the past few years. Well he was a little off because I feel as though I'm about 90-95%! Jen is great did an excellent job following up with my concerns after the surgery and the staff at Abington were excellent as well. The only negative was that no one called after my surgery which is a bit concerning. But, when I spoke with Jen she took care of any issues I had. Doc excellent job thank you and I'm BACK! Haven't felt this way in YEARS! Thank you. I still have some soreness every now and then but, pain level is about .05 now compared to the 10 I used to have! Again, thank you and continued success . It was thorough and I was at ease and comfortable with Dr. Hsu.

Dr Hsu is very personable and compassionate. He takes time to answer all your questions. I did not feel rushed at any of my appointments. Jen is incredible at returning calls, listening and being proactive.

He is excellent explaining everything that he's needs to do. Puts you at ease at will answer any questions you might have. Very friendly.

Dr. Hsu is an amazing caring surgeon. He is great in explaining options and surgery isn’t the first suggested plan. Prompt, thorough and explained everything. He is friendly and a great bedside manner. He performed my surgery over a year and things are great.

Dr. Shu is so honest and listens to what you have to say. If you have a complaint or issue he knows exactly where to exam you.

Great Care , No Surprises .

Great doctor…took time to explain both surgical and non- surgical options!

Dr. Hsu, was caring and very personable. He explained all my of options to me. I feel very comfortable in his care. His staff were very professional and hospitable . I have been to many Orthopedic Doctors due to my condition and Dr. Hsu is at the top of my list.

Dr Hsu performed spinal fusion surgery on me. His skill and unique technique successfully addressed my unbearable pain and enabled me to recover very quickly. He also shows great concern for his patients and listens attentively. I am grateful he was my surgeon.

When Dr Shu enters a room you know you are in good hands by his professionalism, his dress, and his bright smile. He takes the time to discuss the reason for your visit and makes sure you understand his findings. You will both weigh out your options and decide together what to do. This is my second time I’m looking at a back surgery. I am currently in pain; however, Dr Shu doesn’t want to rush into surgery because of the severity of the operation and neither do I. We decided together to first try another route. But should it come to surgery I wouldn’t have anyone but Dr Shu be the person I would want to go through it with. Last time he held my hand and told me it would be ok and I trust him again.

The visit was and rushed it was very informative this Doctor is a credit to the service

Dr Hsu is the GOAT of spine surgeons. If he did hips and shoulders we would just keep rollin'

Dr. Hsu is very knowledgeable, personable, and gave me confidence that I chose the right doctor for what I needed.

Dr. Hsu and his team, gave me excellent surgical care, from diagnosis through follow-up xrays and after care advice. I'd highly recommend him and Rothmen. Going from excruciating bed ridden pain to daily advancements in mobility, while the pain and medication steadily decrease.

Doctor Hsu is wonderful he is highly knowledgeable and professional and takes his time with every patient and explains what your individual needs are and should you need surgery he is highly capable and a pleasure to deal with! His staff is also first-rate.

An amazing doctor who didn’t hesitate to be honest and spend all the time needed to discuss what the best option was for me. He was my third opinion and found him to be the most comprehensive with all options available to me and what the end results would most likely be. Highly recommend.

Dr Hsu takes the time to review tests and record He has a great bedside manor . He is a great surgeon , helped our mother . We have referred him to many people

It was great! Dr. Hsu listened to my concerns and made recommendations for surgery for when I felt it was needed. He is very calming and answered all my questions. He explained what was going on with my back what the recovery process would be. I would definitely recommend him to others. His nurse Jen was great too! I am 6 weeks post up and feeling much better. Glad I had the laminectomy with fusion done with him.

Dr Hsu is a very compassionate physician! Great bedside manner! He preformed an ACDF on me a year ago! I had several follow up visits! He took his time and answered all my questions. He is amazing! I recently went back to Dr Hsu for another issue and he took his time to explain diagnosis throughly!

Dr. Hsu was amazing! He took the time to look at my images and found herniation in my neck that 3 other doctors couldn't find. So glad that I found him!! He has great bed side manner and it just a great doctor who cares for his patients. Looking forward to surgery with him soon

I am 100% satisfied with the treatment I received from Dr. Hsu. He was very thorough, explained what was going on and what would be happening and was upfront and honest about the outcome. He was and continues to be very kind and caring at all follow up appointments. I highly recommend Dr. Hsu.

I was barely able to walk and was dealing with pain for several years. I can now walk a couple of miles daily after only six weeks post-op. It was definitely worth the trip to have Dr. Hsu perform my surgery. Am optimistic about my future.

Great experience. I was nervous about my cervical spine surgery Dr hsu took the time to spend worh me to ease my fears. Great bedside manner. Highly recommended

I have been a patient of Dr.Hsu since 2010. He is reliable, caring. I travel miles to see him. The staff is courteous. I will stay a patient there’s as long as I can ????????. I will give 10 stars

My husband had a terrible experience-absolutely no people skills or compassion He did not physically examine my husband or order additional testing. He simply told him he was just getting older I need to do yoga. So we kept on with physical therapy - after a trip to the emergency room we learned that my husband had a life-threatening illness.

Dr. Hsu has been my physician for 5 years now. He is so very talented as a surgeon and caring as an individual. He is attentive to my concerns and offers choices for treatment. Dr. Hsu really does care about my well-being. I cannot imagine allowing anyone but Dr. Hsu treating me for my many back issues.

Dr Hsu has great patient-side manners. He answers questions thoroughly and patiently. He clearly discusses the risks of surgery and provides an honest answer if he thinks surgery is not the answer. Trustworthy.

I was supposed to have TLIF surgery but had a cage put in instead. It failed and it was a BIG disappointment. I was told I would have a 75% chance of success, but it failed. Also I had over a year of follow ups without any improvement. One Star is too much.

If you want the BEST then DR Hsu is the person you want to call. I had 3 back surgeries back in the 90’s in my hometown and have suffered the last three years with a pinched sciatica nerve and had excruciating pain and burning drown my left leg. My local doctors and pain management staff tried shots, burning nerve ends, PT, medical marijuana, and finally was told there was nothing else to do except implant a stimulator in my back. That thought did not appeal to me and then I talked to my husband’s chiropractor and he told me about two of his patients who went to Rothman Institute with the same problem and had great success. I had nothing to lose and made the call. That call changed my life and so did Dr Hsu. He is a caring, wonderful human being and an exceptional, skilled surgeon. He could see how much pain I was in and how upset I was during my first appointment. He held my hand and told me not to worry, he could help. My surgery was February 12th and I had instant relief. Today, 4 months later I live a normal life and I’m enjoying my grandchildren and swimming in our pool again. Something I haven’t done in three years. THANK YOU, DR HSU for giving me my life back. Dr HSU is great! Always a smile on his face. All around good guy, makes you feel at ease, even when your in pain. Lol. Puts you at ease knowing he always has a plan to try and rectify the situation.

Dr. Hsu operated on my husband a year or so ago. I felt very confident in Dr. Hsu at that time and I still do and now I will be having surgery with him. The office staff is friendly very competent and very thorough. I highly recommend this practice and this doctor.
