Dr Steen is very nice but her staff is impatient, rude and do not seem to care at all.

Excellent physician! She delivered all 4 of my children and I had a wonderful experience!

I regret not switching sooner. Dr. Steen barely acknowledged my existence. She was in and out of the room so fast and walked out on my multiple visits before I could even ask a question. I would wait 30-40minutes in the waiting room just to be rushed out. The front desk staff and the checkout/billing staff were absolute garbage. VERY rude and gave horrible attitude when I tried to be nothing but nice. I asked if I could have my appointment written down for me, and was coldly told that they would send me a text. I calmly and shyly replied that I would still like it written down. I got a huff and an agitated response and she passive aggressively wrote it on a business card and slapped it onto the table in front of me. Absolutely uncalled for. Don’t get me started on trying to get paperwork from them to switch and trying to get an itemized receipt? Forget about it. Dr. Steen is amazing! She was very accommodating and an overall kind doctor! Couldn’t be happier to be a patient of hers.

My daughter and I both see Dr. Steen and we are very pleased, she is very professional and takes time to listen to you and truly cares.

The office is clean and welcoming. The staff is very friendly and eager to answer your questions. You feel as if you've known them forever. I was looking for a new doctor and Dr. Steen came highly recommended by several friends and family members. She did not disappoint! She is extremely thorough and spent a lot of time with me during my annual exam. She sat and talked with me for a while and did not rush me at all. She asked several times if she had answered all of my questions. And possibly my favorite feature about the office is that there is a lab in-house. Super-convenient!

If you are in the market for an OB or new OB, hands down go see Dr. Steen and her team at Women’s Health and Wellness. I have two babies 13 months apart, and have used Steen for both pregnancies. She an her team are so welcoming and make you feel so at home! I now live an hour away and will continue to use Dr. Steen and her team because I love them THAT much!

I just saw Dr Steen for the first time and will be back. She and her staff were very friendly and professional. She has a nice bedside manner and addressed all of my concerns. Her office is clean and COVID safe.

Office and staff are all great! Dr Steen is very knowledgeable and compassionate.

Terrible service They do not care about you here

My annual check up with Dr. Steen during the COVID crisis was an appalling experience. Dr. Steen does not believe the virus is any worse than a cold or the flu and told me that mask wearing and social distancing was ridiculous. As I was wearing a mask, it was clear that in her opinion, I was ridiculous. Dr Steen wore no mask. None of her nurses or staff wore a mask. How many lives, and lives of unborn babies, is she willing to risk to make her political point? The fact is that EVERY international, national and state guideline for controlling the spread of COVID requires the wearing of masks and social distancing. Her shocking disregard for the health of her patients is nothing short of a violation of the hippocratic oath. In my 3 minute consultation (no exaggeration) she asked me nothing about the state of my health, said nothing about scheduling a colonoscopy that is due and forgot to even mention scheduling a mammogram. If you care about your health at all, find another OBGYN!

Dr. Steen is the most knowledgeable and personable gynecologist I’ve encountered. She took time to explain every detail of my troubles to me. At no point did she find my plethora of worrisome questions annoying or repetitive. Her experience comes through in simple conversation, and there is nothing more comforting. No one in her office made me feel the least bit uneasy. There is a nurse practitioner here, Crystal, who went complete out of her way to be sure I understood everything happening in my body—far beyond anything required by her. She was busy, but not too busy to make time to answer every concern I had. She truly wanted to be sure I was taken care of. I would recommend this OBGYN and her staff over any of the others I’ve encountered in Covington. The ultrasound technician was also wonderful and extremely gently. Dr. Steen and her staff are the best. She was the first Gynecologist I have been to. When Pregnant she was extremely knowledgeable and stopped me from going in to Pre term labor. I feel she is one of the best in her field.

Expect long wait times. You will sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes to an hour with 20 plus other patients who are also waiting to be called back. Once in a room, you will wait another 15-20 minutes for the DR or NP to come in. It is frustrating and a waste of time.

I would love to give dr steen zero stars. My experience with her during pregnancy and labor was horrible. Doctors like her are why so many women are at greater risk for unnecessary interventions during labor. She gave me NO time at all to progress naturally and simply ordered me to have pitocin after only an hour or two of labor...which was progressing just fine. She gave me no time to see if my contractions would progress on their own and basically wanted me out of her away ASAP. She told me she doesn’t allow doulas in the delivery room... um excuse me, what? If I want a doula, I will have a doula. She didn’t even show up until literally the very last minute. As if I needed her anyway... I went on to have my next baby with a midwife and doula and my experience was WONDERFUL. I experienced the natural birth I always wanted and had the most rewarding and empowering experience!! I would love to give dr steen zero stars. I’m not the type to leave reviews on anything, particularly bad reviews. But my experience was so traumatizing, I feel like I have to let others know. Dr. Steen was extremely rude during my examination. There was absolutely no consideration for my feelings whatsoever. She tossed around a lot of angry, sassy remarks. I won’t repeat them but they were extremely rude. WHILE I was in excruciating pain. She was barking at me the entire time. It really felt like she hated me. I also feel like she was too rough. She didn’t give me a moment to calm down or talk me through the pain. ZERO bedside manners. The entire experience felt like borderline torture. Dr. Steen jumped in to perform emergency surgery on me when my uterus ruptured. She, along with Dr. Thomas and the medical team, saved my life and was able to prevent me having a hysterectomy despite extensive damage. She went above and beyond, and I am so thankful that she was at the hospital that day.

I've been a patient of Dr. Steen's for 14 years and I've been pleased. Dr. Stern has always taken time with me to respond to any question/concern I may have. I have no complaints.

I have been seeing Dr Steen for the past 14 years and she is a good doctor but is too busy. I rarely get to see her and I have to see her nurse practitioner Julie, who is rude and doesn't seem to care at all. She never spends anytime with me, never explains, anything, and is in and out the room in about two minutes everytime. Only reason I continue to go is because I am pleased with the cesarean sections I have had with Dr Steen and I'm afraid to let another doctor do it because I have seen bad scars. If I could give them no stars at all, I would. I have never been to a gynecologist that's as irresponsible as this one. Dr. Vicki, I think, is a good doctor, but the rest of her staff lacks communication and doesn't care about their patient's well-being. Whenever I go to the clinic for a visit, I would always ask for the prices of the visit before confirming the appointment, but for some reason, they always send me invoices asking me to pay more when I've already paid upfront. When I call in to ask about why I'm receiving a bill for the service I already paid for, they would say, oh we did this service because your case was more difficult, and we were just trying to do everything we can to ensure your health is well. Well do they really care about my well being?! I think not! I ended receiving bills adding up to an extra $800-900 dollars for services I didn't request for. I'm paying for services the nurses ordered, just because they think I need it. They never consulted with me that it's a separate service, and it will be an extra charge. They didn't even ask for my consent for the services performed. I've been to other gynecologist, doctors, and other medical clinics, and the staffs always ask for consent before they treat their patients or run tests on them. However, at Dr. Vicki's office , they said consent is not needed. Um..I thought one of the greatest things about America is because we have the right to consent? In addition to being billed for services I didn't ask for, when I called to speak to Nicki, the billing department, she blames me for not knowing that the service they performed isn't part of what I scheduled for. I mean, how should a patient, new to the clinic, know what service is included in what? I'm simply basing the services off of other gynecologists I've visited. If I knew all of the things she expected me to know, I'd be psychic and probably take over her job. She offered no sincere apology at all and blames the patient for not being competent enough asking if a service is extra when the whole appointment was about that one issue. Why should a patient be bothered by those kinds of unnecessary worries? Shouldn't the clinic hint at or inform their patients that this or that service won't be included in the amount that was paid for? I felt totally scammed and more mistreated than any clinic I've visited. Besides my own experience, everyone who has visited them apparently suffered their long wait time. Every time I go for my appointment (which has only been twice) I have to wait for at least an hour before I get to see the nurse. If anyone is considering them, make sure to go ahead and make no plans for at least half of the day. Also, make sure to ask if every little thing they do is a separate charge if you are self-paying.
