Dr. Verlia Gower

I was Dr. Gower's patient as a child. I had a severe case of allergic fungal sinusitis where a bone-eating fungus was tearing through my sinus cavity. After multiple surgeries to scrape, clear, and repair my sinuses, I have been one of the most successful cases for this kind of specific fungus. I saw Dr. Gower from the time I was 9 to 18 years old. She took great care of me for almost a decade of my life until I had to transfer out of children's care to an adult specialist. Without her constant dedication to my needs as a patient, at 25 years old now, I most likely would have not been fungus free. If I could rate her 10 stars I would. Dr. Gower is a great surgeon and cares deeply for her patient's. She may be tough, but she genuinely cares and works very hard. She has operated on all 4 of my children and we love her.

I would not recommend Dr. Gower. During our first visit, she told us that my 3 year old could not go to the bathroom during the appointment, as she would have to move on to another patient and we would have to reschedule. She was not at all friendly with my daughter, and she was not warm or approachable. During my daughter's surgery recap, she repeatedly called my daughter a he. To her, my daughter was just another set of ears, and that is NOT what I want in a healthcare provider.

The office put my child right at ease. Dr. Gower listened to our concerns, offered frank advice and even personally called me back with an answer to a question that I had!. We are now 2 days post op and my daughter is recovering well. Thank you Dr. Gower for a job well done!

ZERO personality and was very rude to me, my husband and our little boy. We'll be seeing another pediatric ENT...I don't trust her operating I my child.
