Dr. Verda J Hicks

Dr. Verda Hicks removed a large (football size) malignant mass in 2006 after an ultrasound revealed the mass. It was discovered by my primary care physician during a routine gynecological exam who referred me to Dr. Hicks. That was the best thing that happened to me under the circumstances because Dr. Hicks literally saved my life! She has an extremely good reputation and had worked closely with the FBI by exposing a pharmacist who was diluting cancer drugs for cancer patients! She was very instrumental in breaking that case wide open. Dr. Hicks was such a positive person in my life at that time when I thought I may not live to be an old woman! I owe her so much gratitude! I was referred to her from my regular gyno. I had to have a hysterectomy, due to the fact that cancer could have been present. Dr Hicks was very compassionate as I was very scared not knowing what the outcome would be. (Luckily no cancer found) She answered all our questions , was very thorough and explained exactly what she was going to do and what I should expect . 3 weeks, 3 days post op and you can barely see the scar (which was rather long -bikini line) . I would recommend her highly to anyone that needs this type of doctor.

Dr Hicks is wonderful, she is down to earth​. Her staff are kind and helpful.

I have been an Operating Room RN for over 20 years. Dr. Hicks is HANDS DOWN the best GYN surgeon in the area. She is also a very kind and compassionate woman. She performed a Radical Hysterectomy with total lymphadnectomy of my abdomen and pelvis. There are so many risks for this surgery i.e., nerve damage, blood loss, loss of bowel and bladder control, etc. I thank Dr. Hicks for her attention to detail and completing my treatment with success.

staff had to fix an error that i had created, and was very empathetic. went out of their way to make sure it got done right. really enjoyed the residents working with the doctor, they were lucky to work with this doc, "the best in KC"
