I had rotator cuff surgery done at Highland Park Hospital on 7/3/18. Everything this woman did to me, had to be re-done! My neck catheter (for 3 days of post-op pain meds) must have been inserted incorrectly. Nurses noticed it was bleeding all over me prior to surgery, so it had to be re-anchored by Dr. Kulkarni, and of course it did not deliver the pain medicine to my arm, but instead just made my chin and neck numb for the next 3 days. Then, just as she was about to put me under, she puts a mask on my face and tells me to breathe deeply. The mask stuck to my face because she forgot to turn the oxygen on! Heard her say, "WHOOPS!" and she flipped a switch and I could breathe. This is your freakin JOB lady! My father is a surgeon and I am telling you NO COMPETENT M.D. SAYS WHOOPS IN AN O.R.! When they woke me in recovery and asked how my pain level was on a scale from 1 to 10, I had to honestly scream that I was at a pain level of 50!!!! The nurses were awesome in tracking down Dr. Kulkarni to give me another block, SINCE THE FIRST ONE SHE DID OBVIOUSLY FAILED!!! What all of this incompetency lead to was a horrible surgical experience; a ridiculously long recovery time; which lead to me having to be on pain meds too long; which lead to an impacted bowel; which lead to a 5 hour experience in the ER to relieve that! PEOPLE IF YOU ARE FACING A SURGERY AT HIGHLAND PARK HOSPITAL, I ADVISE YOU TO ASK YOUR SURGEON FAR IN ADVANCE WHO THEY WILL BE USING ON YOU FOR ANESTHESIA BECAUSE THIS DOCTOR SHOULD NOT BE WORKING ON HUMAN BEINGS!!! Everything this woman did to me, had to be re-done! My neck catheter (for 3 days of post-op pain meds) was inserted incorrectly. It was bleeding all over me prior to surgery, so it had to be re-anchored & of course it did not deliver the meds to my arm, but instead to my chin.Just before surgery she put a mask on my face, told me to breathe, but I couldn't as she forgot to turn on the oxygen! The spinal block she gave me also failed as I awoke from surgery in agony. 3 strikes & you're out!

This woman should NOT be taking care of living people. Her bedside manner was horrendous. I went in for a major surgery, this woman came in not introducing herself, asking if I had questions. I asked who she was. At that point I said I suffer major anxiety, and explained my fears of becoming ill after surgery. She was cold, not friendly at all, I woke up so very sick to my stomach, with nothing for the anxiety. I was in for a hysterectomy and I was terrified to begin with. This woman has zero business taking care of people. She made is crystal clear that she was not interested in my worries she looked annoyed, bothered and frankly scared me. I am traumatized by her. My brother was in the room, he is a general surgeon at another hospital and agreed her demeanor was nasty. On my bill it looks as if she did not do the anesthesia however, she is the only person I met and all I know is I was in recovery for over three hours extremely ill and terrified. She was nasty. The look on her face just scarred the daylights out of me. I had asked her for something for my anxiety and again, she was very gruff in her response. I felt like I was being difficult and disrupting her day. I have had three other surgeries being put under. NEVER been sick NEVER had that level of pain. I am truly terrified to ever go under again after this nightmare. This woman should NOT be taking care of living people. Her bedside manner was horrendous. This woman should NOT be taking care of living people. Her bedside manner was horrendous. I was wheeled in with a bad experience and came out with a terrible experience. She came in my room not introducing herself. I had to ask who she was. At that point I said I suffer major anxiety, and explained my fears of becoming ill after surgery. She was cold, not friendly at all, just rude, I woke up so very sick to my stomach, with nothing for the anxiety. Still have chills seeing her face.
