Dr. Valerie Hope Slocum Sutherland

I am new to Gig Harbor and only had a couple of Zoom appointments with Dr. Sutherland. However, I found her to be professional, thorough and easy to talk to.

I had a virtual medical visit after she took over my preferred Doctors office. She diagnosed me with Severe Depression without meeting me in person, only through a failed Zoom Meeting. She has no clue how to evaluate patients. She should stick to her Weight Lifting Career.

This person was so unprofessional and cold in person. She did not listen, she did not care. She didn't follow through with her lab orders she didn't have respect for my time and rescheduled me earlier with only 30 min to get there. The appointment was cut short so she could get to Bremerton by noon. She doesn't have a Dr vibe. No comfort or compassion and she wants you to schedule & pay her seperately at a different personal business for weight loss issues. I do not trust her.

I began seeing Dr. Sutherland with the intention of using her as my primary physician. Unfortunately her only interest was NOT internal medicine but is in weight loss only. I paid her initial cost requirement to utilize her services as a primary care physician of $1000 per year. P!us the additional $225 for the weight loss program. I saw her ONCE for my initial physical. Then w/o notice she stopped her primary care practice. I feel my $1000 was used to open new office in puyallup!

Dr. Sutherland is very thorough and truly cares about my health. She is the first Dr. that listened and addressed my weight issues compassionately and with a supported plan. She is not judgmental and firmly supports you to stick to goals to get healthy comprehensively, not just be at a number on the scale.

Poor, unethical business practices, unresponsive business office.

I have not been able to get billing information from her staff. they do not return phone calls .
