Fantastic surgeon,incredible doctor.!! She came to visit me at the bedside at 4am in the morning. There are not enough words to describe what a wonderful,caring physician she is.

She is gifted with her surgical ability. She takes the time to listen to her patients, and answer their questions. Her support staff are kind and capable. The fellows working under her are also extremely good. I feel very privileged to have had her as my surgeon. She is that good.

Dr. Rusch has operated on me twice to remove cancerous portions of my lung. I can not thank her enough for the gift of her knowledge, skill as a surgeon, and most of all, her kindness and compassion.

I cannot put into words the gratitude I have for for Dr.Rucsh and her team. Best in the universe. Truly an expert in her field. She actually cares about patients. Do not pass up an opportunity to be seen by her. I wouldn’t be here today without her.

My daughter received a miraculous surgery by Dr. Rusch and Dr. Cohen at Memorial Slaon Kettering in September of 2018. We were more than ecstatic with the results and the performance by these amazing surgeons. The odds were not in our favor going into surgery but Dr. Rusch’s experience and knowledge saved my daughters life!

Dr Rusch is an excellent surgeon. She performed a P/D procedure on me September 2018. Today I’m doing well and PET Scans have been clean since and feeling great and living my life. Thank you Dr Rush for saving my life

Dr Rusch saved my life. Removed 40% of my right lung in March & I am cancer free. Did not need chemo or radiation. She is an outstanding surgeon who inspires confidence. Plus the specialist she has referred me to since my surgery for other issues have been excellent. I highly recommend her.

Dr Rusch is a superior leader and physician whom I first met in 1997 and have followed ever since. Her care, grace, and expertise are highly valuable for all patients.

Dr. Valerie Rusch is the Thoracic Surgeon who has saved my life by surgically removing my cancer. She did so with such skill, compassion, and reassurance that my experience, from detection through recovery, was as positive as possible. Dr. Rusch conveys information to her patient in a reassuring yet honest and comprehendible manner; it is obvious that she has a vast depth of knowledge and experience in her field of expertise. She is patient, kind, and projects a well-founded sense of confidence in her surgical skills, which helped to dissipate my pre-surgical anxiety. Evidently the surgery was as precise and non-invasive as possible, and the healing process was remarkably gentle and swift. Dr. Rusch's staff and nurses were available around the clock, and patiently answered all my questions. I feel unspeakably, incredibly lucky to have Dr. Rush as my surgeon. Dr. Rusch performed a very tricky surgery on me in that my tumor was impinging on the main artery. She was able to remove the tumor and preserve half my lung. I had virtually no pain from beginning to end and am thankful that I was sent this wonderful surgeon to take care of me. She is knowledgeable, caring, and her surgical expertise is unsurpassed. I was blessed to have had Dr. Rusch perform lung cancer surgery on me 3 years ago. I found her to be caring, thorough, brilliant in her knowledge and skill. She saved my life and I owe her so much. I am so very fortunate to have her in my life.

Many of Dr. Rusch's reviews say she is cold. for God's sake people, she is a Surgeon! They are notorious for not having a bedside manner. She operated on my husband 3 years ago, EPP, and gave a us a new lease on life. She doesn't sugar coat anything. Unfortunately, my husband's mesothelioma is back after 3 years. She gave us time without cancer. And now, her team is working on the next treatment plan. She is exceptional and brilliant. She is not supposed to be your best friend.

Very rude. She speaks with an arrogant tone and is not comforting at all. Instead of speaking with you she speaks at you as if she is all knowing and it is going to be her way. Makes you feel small and inadequate In her profession she should be more compassionate with people instead of a cold fish. Terrible interpersonal skills and lacks any compassion when speaking to patient and family.. She tells you what is going to be instead of speaking with you about it. No way I would recommend her

Dr. Rusch is robotic, exceptionally cold and short. I normally would never take time out to write something unpleasant about someone, but when it comes to the health of a loved one I only wish I could have read something honest about Dr. Rusch beforehand. Post-surgical appts were disappointing and I strongly believe complications arose, that are chronic and being dealt with on a daily basis, from the surgery she performed. Wishing everyone health & love and for a better experience than us.

The experience with Dr. Rusch could not have been better - extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and informative every step along the way, Dr. Rusch and her staff were beyond reproach. They, and everyone in the facility, made a very unpleasant experience as comfortable as possible, very professional.

I'll be seeing Dr Rusch for the first time on Monday, Feb 22. EVERYONE I spoke to has raved about her. I'm sure my experience will be the same. I'm a little frightened and watching Dr Rusch's video has eased the anxiety.

Poor communication throughout testing/follow up. Insensitive staff.
