Dr. Valerie C Montgomery Rice

I am a former patient of Dr Montgomery-Rice, from the early 1990’s. She was well-respected,even then, & a standout in her field. She performed a successful Myomectomy on me, as well as 2 paternal cousins, all with very large fibroids-& a genetic predisposition to having them. This procedure prevented us from having unnecessary Hysterectomies in our child-bearing years. My 2 Cousins were both able to have 2 healthy children, though I was able to have children as well because of the surgery, I found true love after my child-bearing years-but, I will always be grateful for Dr Montgomery-Rice who seemingly made it her life’s mission, to prevent women of color, particularly women of African descent, who were/are? still undergoing hysterectomies in disproportionate numbers, due to uterine fibroids, which might not always be the only medical solution, or best treatment option. I highly recommend Dr V M-R, for her expertise, passion for research & practicing medicine, and her compassion.
