Dr. Valerie Cote

Great experience from the appointment on! We saw Dr. Cote for suture evaluation and removal. She was so patient, compassionate and answered all of my questions. I really appreciated her honesty & expertise- she said it was too early to take out his sutures & to come back in four days, because she didn’t want to risk them opening up. We did just that and again, she was gentle and patient when she removed the sutures. Her nurse (I didn’t catch her name) was so helpful and sweet too. My son failed his hearing test it turned out he had fluid in his middle ears. I told dr cote I was very worried because he wasn't sleeping well and wasn't talking. She put a rush on a sleeping test for us. So far I'm very pleased with how quickly everything is moving. Also her nurse Jen is SUPER nice

Horrible bedside manner! Dry and arrogant. After waiting 45 minutes past our appointment time, She walked in and introduced herself very dryly, barely making any eye contact. For a pediatric physician, she has no idea how to communicate with children. Actually, she didn’t try to talk to my son the whole time we were in the room during our visit. She made it seem as if his nervousness about looking into his ears, was an inconvenience to her. We waited 2 months to see an ENT at Christ Children’s hospital after 4 other providers, 3 of which were pediatricians, told me that they couldn’t see into my sons ears because of extreme wax buildup. So I made an appointment to have the wax removed. She looked and said she was able to see after maneuvering the device at a certain angle and that she was an expert and knew how to look into kids ears. Clearly, not agreeing with what 4 other doctors told me. Because of this she was unwilling to have the wax removed because she said my son was too nervous and it would most likely be unsuccessful. I had to explain to her that if I had to go back to his pediatrician that she would tell me the same thing as before, that she can’t see in his ears because of the wax, so I insisted that she try to remove the wax. I believe she removed a small amount of wax just to shut me up and show me that she did what I had asked of her. If she really wanted to spend a little more time, she probably could’ve removed more. I left there feeling worse than I felt going into the visit. Christ should re-evaluate their choice for hiring caring, thoughtful and empathetic pediatric specialists.

She did not perform my daughter's tracheostomy but saw her through her acute rehab and then home rehab. Through swallow studies and sleep studies. Through multiple bronchoscopies and eventually decannulation (including necessary surgery to close). She genuinely cares for her patients. She was patient with questions and made sure our questions were fully answered.

Dr Cote wanted my child to have a distraction surgery after just one sleep study. There are less invasive approaches for sleep apnea. I went and got a second opinion and my new provider strongly believes my daughter will never require this surgery.

She removed my daughter tonsils and adenoid, put ear tubes. Everything worked great. ( My daughter had sleep apnea and was sick every other week- ear infection, viruses, tiredness,etc.) I highly recommend Dr Valerie Cote :)

Farmington location - My wife and I were worried about our son breathing but after meeting Dr Cote who was very professional and friendly. We were reassured by the information we received and her approach to address the issue. Also we were running a bit late due to huge traffic in hwy 15 from Stratford when staff didn't want to register us she accepted to see us despite the fact she had to take her lunch and drive to another hospital.
