I saw Dr. Carter for the first time. He made me feel comfortable about asking questions to anything I didn’t understand. He came up with some options going forward.

Loved going to see Augusta-Aiken Orthopedics. I didn't have wait long for the nurse to call me back neither did I have to wait long for Dr. Carter to see me. He was efficient and effective in his communication and explanation of my condition/pain. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful and friendly staff. My uncle was the patient and we met with PA Boomgarden who was kind, thorough, and took the time to really listen and address all my uncle’s issues and concerns. I’ve met Dr Carter before and think very highly of him as well. I would absolutely recommend this practice to anyone and everyone and I’m a nurse so I think that says a lot, because we’re pretty picky by nature.

My husband has been in pain for almost 3 years and when we finally got enough money($250) we went to Dr. Carter. He saw my husband less than 14 minutes and told my husband to prove that he was in pain. Worst Dr ever. His license should be revoked due to him not taking his vow as a Dr seriously.

Good care.. highly recommend

I was very pleased with the service I received from Dr. Carter and his staff. He has prescribed medicine which hopefully will help my back pain.

Dr.Carter was prompt, knowledgeable, thorough and pleasant. It can be difficulty to find all four qualities in a physician.

Dr Carter is detailed in his explanations, honest, and open to questions. Trust him to take care of my issues.

Dr. Carter was very informative about his plan to diagnose my situation. The staff was very professional and efficient. The office also called to schedule my MRI within a few hours after my visit .

Great experience with doctor and staff. Doctor communicates well to understand patient and needs to have best visit outcome. Doctor is very frank, never tells you what you want to hear but tells you exactly what you need to know.

Dr. Carter has a great personality and exhibits outstanding knowledge in his field. Unfortunately, he was glib and adamant that I would soon need surgery when going over my MRI results He did say that we could try PM epidurals and explained how pursuant treatment would unfold. I were told that "I'll get you into pain management right away and they'll start you on some back injections and you'll feel better quickly It didn't happen quickly that the referred pain management specialist (in the same building one floor above) got in touch with me and scheduled an appointment. It didn't happen at all until a week later after many messages left by me and my insurance co. so I went to the office of the specialist. That is a whole other mess under Google reviews for Dr. Suwan Aiken SC. At this point we made an appointment with Southeastern Spinal Institute in Mount Pleasant where Dr. Anderson reviewed MRI, met with me, and had me set up for PM epidural in 1 hour, paid for by insurance!

Dr Carter is by far the best spine doctor int he CSRA. I have had 2 surgeries by him and he has made me comfortable both times! He has great bedside manners and explains everything you may ask. I wouldn’t trust any other doctor to touch my back except him! He is exceptional and smart. He cares, he listens, and he makes recommendations not solely based on making him money. He cares for his patients. Thank you dr Carter!

Sadly I cannot recommend Dr. Carter as long as he is part of CMI. Yesterday, I had a 3 pm appointment. At 4 pm I asked the always rude women at the front desk about how much longer. I was told I was next up. But, 5 minutes later Dr. Carter's 3:30 appointment was called ahead of me. I left and don't intend to go back. For 20 years I have been going to CMI for periodic checkups and prescription refills. Dr. Carter is a very competent back doctor. However, my situation is serious enough that he admits I need to see other specialists too. Over the years I have had bad experiences with other doctors in the group. For example, Dr. Holford insisted I needed a hernia operation when I was there for back pain. He sent me to a surgeon who took one look and told me that I didn't have a hernia. Another time, I went to see Dr. Daniel for a cortisone shot. While I was on the table waiting, he and his nurse couldn't decide whether they had given me the shot or not, until I said something.

Rude, condescending, ignorant, doesn't listen to you, talks over you, 2.5 hours late for appt., could care less about you, you are just a number to him, and speaks rudely to women. Office staff is rude, just like the Dr., they couldn't care less about you. Stay far away from him and this practice.

He has a out standing professional attitude and listen very well to my problem I don’t think he believes me about the Length of time that I have been hurting in my shoulder I might have exaggerating a little bit. But he is a great doctor I’m new to the Aiken area it’s hard to find a doctor you like I highly recommend doctor carter

It feels like he's ready to leave the room the second he enters. It's like it's annoying for him to deal with me. Not helpful. Not personable. Not likable. When I'm ready for back surgery, it will be with a different office. All of the other Doctors at CMI have been great. I'll give a pass to Dr. Ty Carter.

I’d be happy to review him but 65 minutes after I had a schedule apt. I still hadn’t seen him

Very satisfied with my ACDF surgery preformed by Dr. Carter. Recorded message says that office is open till 5:30 which is not accurate. Called office @ 4:30 p.m. today to try to reschedule an appointment cancelled by the doctor & unable to leave a message. Checked next door at their physical therapy office & was told the office closed @ 3:00 p.m. You need to change your message, since your office is not open until 5:30 Monday through Friday. Very dissatisfied with you office performance in this instance.

I have not had a good experience so far. I have come a long way with this Doctor but things are slipping. Getting in contact with his nurse is getting harder and harder. I was told that using the portal was the best way to contact the nurse and that appears not to be true. Starting to think I should have done more research on the office and office staff. After making a post about the problem I have had, the response from friends and family was shocking. Out of all 40 posts I only heard one thing good. I hope his office staff and nurse gets things under control. On a side note I do not have a problem with the doctor it is mostly the staff. Don’t think it is just the staff at the main office. The imaging center has two ladies that are just straight up rude. Obviously this is all just my wonderful opinion. I have not had a good experience so far. I was very apprehensive at first, but my pain level from the sciatica was so bad I couldn’t walk 50’ without sitting down and couldn’t do any work. I came to find out I had other spinal issues (Stenosis). After much research and many different outside opinions, I made a decision to let Dr Carter do what needed to be done. Dr Carter explained in detail the procedure and the good chance of complete success..... I couldn’t have been more pleased, he performed a laminectomy, my pain was gone! I’m on the way to complete recovery after a most serious operation! I would recommend that anyone with severe back issues at least consult Dr. Carter. If you have back problems stay away from Dr. Ty Carter he does not really no anything about back problems and he has a real sarcastic mouth. Please take my advice.

Terrible, bottom of the barrel care. Office staff rude, waiting room hot and stinky, offices dirty, very unprofessional operation in every way. Go anywhere else if you value your body.

I was in a horrible car accident ,and he did a MRI told me I need surgery but at the age of 39 recommend I wait till late 40's which iam now but I'm in everyday chonic pain, I will be seeing him soon for surgery I hope he gets it right so all my pain is gone, I want the lower back laser surgery I can't take this much longer, but he did say I could of had it then but I was too young so now iam ready I will be seeing him soon...

Wow a doctor who really listens! Outstanding

Dr. Carter is extremely professional and knowledgeable. He explains everything thoroughly and knows how to put a patient at ease about a scary prospect of surgery. I have told many people about his expertise.
