Had a root canal done. It went really well and I appreciated the communication and expertise throughout the procedure.

My toothache started Thursday and everyday it was getting worse. My dentist scheduled an appointment for Tuesday, but the pain was getting worse each day. Dr Kjar came in for me on an emergency basis on a Saturday and found the severity due to infection and immediately did a root canal. With Ashley, his sharp assistant, he found two teeth infected and took care of both of them. He saved two teeth! By Tuesday my regular dentist may have just pulled the two teeth to do two implants. Dr Kjar really cares and went out of his way to help me - on his day off! He made sure I was comfortable. He followed through the next day checking to see how I was doing. Thank you so much!

Dr. Kjar is extremely concerned about the patients well being during and after the procedure. He called me personally to see how I was feeling and if I needed anything. Wow, you don't get that now days, I remember in the past that was done all the time.

Obviously getting a root canal is no fun, but Utah Endodontics made the experience as good as it could possibly be. Super friendly front office and great staff all around. I was in and out quickly and healed nicely from the procedure. Highly recommend!

Had a great experience with Dr. Kjar. Is it over priced? You get what you pay for. Did you have to wait? I would rather him spend the time to do the job right for anyone which he does / did. I highly recommend them. Awesome friendly staff that went above and beyond my expectation, thank you guys!

I needed a root canal pretty bad since before thanksgiving ( now December 23 ) but I wasn’t able to get in as fast as I wanted, being a performer I had lots of shows during this busy holiday season and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it in at all with the end of year rush and my small window between shows! Luckily Dr, kjar was able to get me in very quickly! The accommodated my schedule, Worked with me on a payment plan and Even better the root canal went smoothly and I wasn’t in any pain at all during the procedure! I read some other reviews that this place is only in it for money and blah blah blah, I was treated so well that I think those reviews were probably one off exaggerated experiences by a Karen. I had a great time, or as great as one can have with a root canal! The dr worked efficiently and was personable. And the staff was very nice as well. this was a much better experience than I ever could have expected given the circumstances. They also called me the day after to see how I was holding up! I had the great pleasure of having Dr. Kjar fix my tooth. The service and professionalism of the staff and the Dr. was extraordinary. The best dental experience I have had. Definitely recommended.

Just got a root canal, and it was honestly a good experience, yeah it hurt, but Dr. Kjar was so careful, and I hardly felt a thing. The pina colada flavored laughing has was a nice bonus. An big extra thank you to Haley, she was incredibly kind and made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process. Thank you guys!

What a frustrating, money hungry place! Appointment was for 1:30 - I get a text the day before asking to move it later, I agreed, I arrive 15 min early to complete their paperwork. I then continue to wait for another 40 minutes, until finally I ask the rude receptionist if there was a problem, she said there wasn’t but that they would call me back soon. 10 more min later I was finally called back. Once seated, Immediately they ask me for an X-ray (which I already had sent to them from my dentist). After conceding that they don’t need an X-ray, Dr. T pokes Around in my mouth. After that he begins to explain to me that I need a root canal; the tooth already has a root canal! So I explain to him that it already has a root canal, surprised, the doctor goes back to the x-ray, and after a moment begins to tell me that he needs to do a different, 3-D x-ray, I prod him a little bit more to find out why and after he insisted I agreed. Once done with that he explains that there is nothing he can do after all and referred me back to my dentist. But it gets better, as I go to check out the x-ray, they insisted that I needed/didn’t need, ends up costing me $200! No Dr. T. I will not pay your $200 and if needs be I will make this a legal matter… this is coercion at its best. It appalls me that I was even referred to this place! What a frustrating, money hungry place! I had an old root canal that my dentist told me to go have checked by an endo. I had an appointment for the consult, even booking the appointment, the staff was extremely helpful and kind. And going into the office was no exception. All the staff were great and welcoming. I ended up needing to repair the root canal and they offered to just do it that day! How convenient! It was about an hour and a half procedure that Dr. Kjar made actually quite pleasant. He told funny stories and checked on me often. I felt very safe and comfortable in his care. Liked the endodontists, but the billing is an absolute joke. Apparently I owed $96 after my visit (even though I authorized them to just use my care credit card, as I was starting chemo and didn’t want to bother with bills while I was ill). 8 months later I start getting hounded by a collection agency for almost double, but when I called and tried to pay the bill Utah Endo hung up on me twice when I called to ask what the heck happened to charging my card like I asked them to. Now suddenly I am being faced with an attorney wanting $598 for this same charge!!!! Also my root canal ended up failing so I now have to find another endodontist and try to fix my mangled mouth while trying to fight this absolutely outrageous debt. I feel like it’s incredibly unfair to have me call and authorize the charge on the card they already had on file since they charged me a $250 deposit, then send me to collections when it was their own dang office staff that didn’t follow through. I plan on complaining to my doctors office as well to never refer these guys to anyone, because no one else should have to go through this, especially when 2020 has already been enough of a nightmare. My mother who no longer can manager her finances was 3 days late making a monthly payment when the dentist office sent a snarky and threatening letter to send her to collections with a 33% penalty. Her bill had already been more than half paid. How about a letter or phone call asking if other arrangements need to be made instead of going straight to a threat to send her to collections? I called the office and the staff member who signed the letter said it wasn't her letter but that the dentist wrote it. I'm sure collecting payment can be challenging but I kinda doubt the dentist is in the poor house while waiting for a payment from a widow on a limited fixed income. I was referred to Dr Troy by my dentist because I had a wicked cavity that needed a root canal. I had shoulder surgery 2 weeks prior. They stopped occasionally to allow me to stretch and reposition. I posted the review below 6 years ago. Went in today for the first time since then and was still impressed. I found everyone to be helpful, efficient, and competent. They took care to make the experience as comfortable as possible. Highly recommended. ***** All the staff I interacted with were helpful and friendly. I found Dr. Thomson accidentally after visiting a number of local dentists. The most recent dentist indicated I needed three root canals and was asking to be paid fees above those approved by my insurance. I thought a second opinion was in order. I never write reviews but every interaction I have had with this office has been exceptional, from making the initial appointment to needing an antibiotic after hours. The staff at the front desk are courteous and helpful. The dental assistant was both knowledgeable and friendly. Dr. Thomson was professional and clear about the options. To sum it up, I went from being apprehensive to trusting I was in good hands. As it turned out I needed one procedure and not three, and the one was not a root canal. I had a procedure done yesterday with Dr Kjar and Sarah. It was really a great experience. Amazing! I was terrified when I found out I had an abscess. I wasn't in any pain so I was skeptical I even had anything there. My new dentist told me I was going to lose my tooth for sure and probably would have to go to the hospital for a surgery. Not only did Dr.Thomson save my tooth, but some strange dizzy spells I had been having for two years disappeared after I had my root canal. I assumed I had another health issue and I had no idea it was dental related. Getting my tooth taken care of has improved my quality of life so much! Sharon is amazing and sweet they were able to get me in quick. I had to later come back in for a second tooth. Each appointment was quick. They genuinely care if you are in pain and value your time. I was shocked when everyone there remembered things about me. The attention to detail is incredible! They remembered that I had a slightly different hair style from six months before. The assistant there was amazing and knowledgeable. She made me feel I very comfortable with being there. She answered all of my questions. I love that they quoted me the amount on my consultation and it matched the exact amount after my root canal. Very straightforward, No bad surprises! They do send you a bill for the whole thing initially (before your insurance kicks in.) just wait for the second bill. Dr. Thomson did my root canal and he was great, very gentle. Every single person in this office contributes to the welcoming and comfortable environment it provides. Dr. Kjar was good to work with but the billing office is terrible. I suggest before you pay any bills make sure you double check your EOB's and that there is an actual "patient resp" before you pay anything because they will clearly not review it for you. The computer "automatically" generates a bill and charges you finance fee's BEFORE the insurance has even processed and finalized your claim. Only giving 1 star because I liked the Dr. otherwise 0 stars. I will not be going back to get care from him because I cannot imaging dealing with the billing office and that circus after an actual procedure after what I just went through for a regular exam. Not only was I told incorrectly what the balance was for (she said it was for the scan because no insurance pays for it, but it was actually for the exam). I only found this out after I reviewed the EOB myself with my insurance and realized that there was actually no patient responsibility yet since the insurance claim was still pending due to needing more information from the providers office. I went to Utah Endodontics about a month ago to get my root canal fixed. During the root canal surgery the doctor told me that her accidentally scratched my lip with one of his tools. My mouth was completely numb, so I didn’t feel any pain. Considering he said it was just a “scratch” I didn’t think much of it. After the root canal surgery was over he informed me he would need to stitch up my lip and it wasn’t just a scratch, but a cut that was deep enough that it would need to be stitched up. I’ve had the wound for a month now and it has made it extremely difficult for me to eat or drink anything. I’m extremely disappointed in the service I received here and I wish I would have went some where else to get my root canal done. The gal on the phone told me to come in, let's have the doctor look at it anyway and then you'll know what do do she said. so I came, had him look--Dr. Troy is super nice, worked on me before. He agreed nothing needed to be done at the time and to just watch it. A month later I got a bill???? No one ever said ANYTHING about being billed for having the doctor look at it. No one. I have to admit that I was a little nervous about my first root canal. It wasn't something I wanted to do but the pain was intense. Dr. Kjar and his assistant were awesome! They were super patient and verbally walked me through everything they were doing during the procedure. Doc even asked me multiple times if I was ok and needed anything. I asked a ton of questions and all were answered. I hope I never need another root canal, but if I do, Dr. Kjar is the only one I'll consider! Kudos to him and his team. Utah Endontics was recommended to me by my Dentist. UE was able to get me in three hours after my first call for a root canal. They were friendly and very helpful with setting up payments. Dr Kjar was very calming and the procedure went without a hitch. It was much smoother then I was expecting. There aren't enough stars to really display how phenomenal Dr Kjar and Haley and the rest of staff the excellence they demonstrate. My dentist(Dr Keefe) is one of the rare over the top docs in all areas of his expertise and they are hard to come by until I had Dr Kjar (referred by my dentist) do my root canal. They are like Hillary and Mallory..the 2 men who were known to first climb Mt. Everst. It's the biggest bummer not only to me but to anyone who has to do work on my teeth because I'm beyond sensitive. However Dr Kjar and his staff made sure beyond doubt I was numb and comfortable. As he proceeded with the root canal he used all these extremely tiny instruments( reminded me of the special tiny instruments that were ordered for the squirrel George accidentally hit in Seinfeld! I asked a few times during the procedure and both Dr Kjar & Haley kindly explained. I have dealt with many dental issues in my life and I have NEVER been treated so kindly by everyone in the office in my life. I walk in and they immediately make me feel so comfortable and I can tell they truly care. Dr. Matthew Kjar is the most upstanding person I have ever met in the medical/dental field!! I had an issue with a tooth not from him but a previous dentist that did not do it correctly and he tried to fix everything but we ran into an issue with my gums because of the prior work. They worked with me as I paid cash because my insurance wouldn't cover my daughter's root canal. That saved some money and got me in the door, but they had excellent service and we loved the Doctor and staff. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I had to have a root canal and Dr Kjar was great! It was completely painless, and the staff was so friendly and considerate. I even called Dr Kjar for something on a Sunday and he was so helpful and responded to me very quickly.

On a scale of 1-5, these guys are a 10! Most of my work has been done with Dr. Kjar, Haley, and Drea. Simply one of the friendliest and most caring group of medical providers that you can imagine. I have been especially impressed with the personal phone calls that they have made to check in on me. Do not hesitate to turn to them if you have dental work that needs to be done. As a dental consultant, we are highly critical of dental professionals - after 28 years, I've seen too much to select a specialist for my own needs casually -we ask the best of the best where to go and a million questions before we walk in the door. I needed an apicoectomy and Dr Troy and his team were magnificent. His expertise was highly skilled, his sutures a work of art, and my almost pain free rapid recovery time was remarkable. It's going to be hard to describe how good my experience with Doctor Kjar was, but I'm going to try. A little background- I'm terrified of visiting the dentist to the point that I don't eat with metal utensils. The idea of metal touching my teeth sends shivers down my spine. Unfortunately however, things happen, and eventually I need the assistance of a professional. They incredibly had an available appointment for the next day. I was not expecting that, but what a pleasant surprise! From the moment I walked into the office the staff was friendly and cheerful. They were very up front with pricing, and clear about what was and wasn't usually covered by insurance. I opted to pay a bit more for nitrous oxide because as I understatedly told the dental assistant "I get a bit nervous." Doctor Kjar had excellent bedside manor. I felt very comfortable, even having just met him. The procedure went very smoothly. He asked me several times If I was comfortable or needed anything. Amazingly he was able to decipher my mumbles and slurred guttural sounds to figure out what I needed during the operation. This is where I would have already left a five star review, but I'll finish the story anyway. Recovery was amazing. Even with nothing more than two ibuprofen I was at zero pain within 3-4 hours. Then, to my surprise that night I received a phone call from Dr. Kjar himself checking up on me. I honestly wish I could give more than a five star review. Dr. Thomson, and his beautiful assistant Carly did a fantastic job of making a root canal as pleasant as possible. I didn't even cry, but I did ask them if they'd ever seen a grown man cry, as I thought I just might. Dr. Thomson worked wonders and I am very pleased with the results. I highly recommend Dr. Thomson!

Unfortunately it became necessary for me to have a root canal :( I was referrred to Dr. Thomson by a trusted dentist, Dr. Glassett. The whole experience was great! Dr. Thomson staff were efficient, knowledgeable and kind. Dr. Thomson gave a complete overview of the procedure and helpful information throughout my appointment. I left pain free and without any discomfort from the treatment. I would highly recommend Dr. Thomson. Dr Kjar was great both times going in for my third visit. Lucky me. Staff is friendly and had TWO succesful root canals I trust him to get the job done. I would recomend to them to others. Thanks Ryan
