Follow up after surgery. Dr Payner was able to answer my questions and give me an idea of what to expect going forward. He was reassuring and helpful with my concerns. Very happy he is my doctor.

I came into this appt with fear and intrepidations because of my diagnosis. My session with Amy Richwine was better than I expected. She spent plenty of time with me, was very thorough and explained treatment options that were in my best interests. I appreciated her thorough explanations of my options. She patiently answered my questions. I felt heard and that this team is truly interested in my healing and best treatment options. I love that my case will be presented to the tumor board meetings and I will receive further guidance and suggestions from many experts going forward.

Dr Payner is the best, I had a tumor removed from right above my right ear, I have very long hair and Dr Payner removed my tumor without shaving my head, this means a lot to me. The front office staff were kind and courteous. Then a very nice MD came in (cannot remember her name) and described brain aneurysms and treatment options. Finally, Dr. Payner came in and sat down. Talked to Dr Payner about my facial pain, (Trigeminal neuralgia) or parts of it. He was very thorough and easy to talk to. He answered all my questions. I highly recommend Dr Payner if you have these issues.

We saw NP Amy and she was outstanding. The wait was a little long, but spending enough time with patients is important. She didn’t leave until all our questions and concerns were addressed. We are very pleased .

12 years ago, Dr. Payner performed emergency surgery on me after a ruptured aneurysm. He and his team, including Dr. Scott and DiNardo, interventional radiologists, brought me through a series of obstacles. There are no words to express my gratitude. Dr Payner is patient, kind, informative and overall confident in his approach. He makes you feel like he wants you to have the information that you can about your case. You feel like you are in good hands and you have a plan, that’s an important feeling in healthcare.

We found out my dad had a meningioma about midway through this year. He had been acting pretty strange for 5 or more years, but we couldnt figure it out (long story). He essentially had no motivation to do ANYTHING. Once his doctor finally did an MRI, they found the softball/grapefruit sized tumor and recommended Goodman and Campbell where Dr Payner was. We had the initial consultation in Indy shortly after that (maybe a few weeks?) and the surgery within a month I believe. Dr Payner and team ended up removing around 98% of it, with the surgery lasted ~9 hours. Maybe it was the type of tumor, but never did I feel nervous about the surgery because I knew he was in good hands. His confidence was genuine. After the surgery my dad’s personality has changed (still changing) but it’s hard to describe the happiness we feel having him back and being excited about life again. He keeps saying “today was the best day of my life” and I know he means it each time. Wanted to get this in before the end of the year. Thank you Dr Payner and staff. Dr. Payner is outstanding! He took his time and answered every question I had. I came to him after a different neurologist callously told me that I had a brain tumor and left the room without giving me any other information, so I was a basket case to say the least by the time I saw Doctor Payner two weeks later. However when his assistant called to schedule my appointment she said “Doctor Payner told me to let you know he’s seen your MRI and not to worry.” She gave me a couple details that laid my mind to ease a little. I’ve seen him several times now and every time he takes his time, he listens when you speak and seems to genuinely care about his patients. I truly can’t express how great he and his staff are. Dr. Payner removed my glioblastoma in August 2019. Dr. Payner and his staff, including his Nurse Kathy was amazing!

Wouldn't recommend! Couldn't find his elbow from his bottom. 3 times he preformed a shunt repair surgery and still couldn't get it right!!! Had to go out of network to get it fixed right!! Absolutely unacceptable!!!! This is brain surgery here people!! Unless you wanted your skull cut opened REPEATEDLY dont go here!!!

Dr Troy PaynerMD completely removed my vestibular schwannoma acoustic neuroma brain tumor March 16, 2017. I have 0 facial paralysis and my balance is great. I am so happy I opted to have this tumor removed rather than wait and watch or radiation. The surgery he preformed along with Michael Fritsch otolaryngologist was around 5 hours long. I was in the hospital for 2.5 days. 2 weeks later I was driving my car without taking pain medication after 10 days post op. These surgeons restored my confidence and I would HIGHLY recommend them. Besides the fact, that Dr Payner is really easy on the eyes :) nice guy!!! I am a 56 year old female who had a medium size acoustic neuroma. Good luck to those of you who are considering this. Dr. Payner removed my 4cm pituitary macroadenoma via transsphenoidal surgery in November 2017. He connected me with first rate supporting specialists in the run up to surgery and afterward. I was confident at all times that Dr. Payner had total grasp of my situation and a plan to deal with it. I was in a hurry to get the tumor out but he showed me that watchful waiting with monitoring was the best course. Payner was omnipresent during the post-op period. I was back to work within 2 weeks

I was diagnosed with an AVM at the age of 16 years old in 2003. I had three brain surgeries Nov. 2003, Dec. 2003, and Jan. 2004. Dr. Troy Payner, Dr. Leipzig, and Dr. Terry Horner saved my life! I am forever grateful. Each of these doctors exceeded my expectations. Despite two out of the three brain surgeries taking over 25 hours, they never gave up or made any mistakes. I was completely comfortable with Dr. Payner from the very 1st visit. He did an amazing job in explaining everything to me on a level i could understand but not as if i were an idiot :) He has a great sense of humor and kind personality. i felt the true care and compassion he has for his patients and i always felt i was in great hands.
