I am extremely pleased with Dr. Walker as a Orthopedic surgeon but even more so as a person and patient advocate. Things have not always gone the way we both both planned (thanks to COVID) but Dr. Walker has consistently been a strong advocate for me and I know that he genuinely cares about me. He spends as much time with you as you want and makes sure that you are at ease with everything. Dr. Walker is amazing! He did a complete hip replacement on me. He put me at ease from the first time I met him. When in the hospital, it was obvious how much the staff of the surgical center respect him. I recommend him to anyone.
Absolutely great. Up to date surgical intervention with a down to earth personal approach. He is probably one of the best in FW, TX
Dr. Walker was so approachable and encouraging. He saw that I was suffering with my quality of life , even at 49 years old. I needed a hip replacement. He even prayed with me prior to surgery! I couldn’t be more pleased with my results and at 2 weeks post surgery I am walking without any assistive devices and am doing almost all of the things I enjoy and need to do. Thank you Dr. Walker!
Mr. Walker has an excellent bedside manner. His team seems to be happy when working with him. There is always a little bit of a wait but free water and cable entertain us in the waiting area. The strand alone hand sanitizer stations are ALWAYS out of hand sanitizer so this is why I pulled one star from the rating. They do have small hand sanitizer units you can ask for at the window. It's flu season and the only access to the restrooms is behind the secured area doors suppo you have to wait to wash your hands. I may be more concerned than others but after opening the doors to buildings, then his office and pushing buttons on the elevator before arrival, I think it's a good idea to take caution. Note regarding parking: When parking, use the lot off of 9th Street or park in the parking garage (opposite Rosedale St side) and enter the building using doors inside the parking garage or the doors facing 9th Street. (There is no building entrance facing Rosedale; we learned the hard way.) Mr. Walker has an excellent bedside manner. His team seems to be happy when working with him. Can't get anybody to answer the phone for an appointment
Dr Walker : excellent pre and post op experience. Patiently covers both proceedures above and aftercare details with excellent well informed and accessible staff. You're in great hands.
Amazing doctor, as a nurse I had to change to him because I didn't trust my first doctor. I was glad I did. Good bedside manner, God fearing very respectful of his patients and most importantly pays attention to detail. I had to pay out of pocket to see him because he was not in my network. If I had to do it again it was worth every dime. Amazing doctor, as a nurse I had to change to him because I didn't trust my first doctor. I was glad I did. Nightmare that I am still living. Surgery for a torn meniscus over a year ago. He missed what was actually wrong and did not listen to my concerns when my condition rapidly got worse after the surgery. Still unable to walk and facing additional surgery. but not with this Doctor.
If you want to wait over an hour in the exam room, and then wait another 30 mins after an xray, this is your place to go. They keep you waiting in the back room like you just don't even exist. I literally stepped out the room and said I think they forgot about me. My apt was at 1:30 I didn't leave till almost four. I saw the doctor for like 10 mins and waited all that time, and I felt rushed as hell. I can't wait to switch doctors, i'm excited to have good customer service! :D If you want to wait over an hour in the exam room, and then wait another 30 mins after an xray, this is your place to go. Dr Walker is an excellent doctor. Dr Walker did a complete hip replacement on my mother and she was very pleased.
Very personable and knowledgeable, and he explained my condition and the options for surgery. He explained what to expect from the process. I was impressed that he too the time to pray with me and my family prior to the surgery.
I originally selected this doctor because of information listed on his website which appeared to be great testimonials of his work. This was so not the case for me - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I arrived early for my appointment to be greeted by the staffs announcement that the doctor would be arriving 2 hours later. Still wanting to be on time I return the staff checked me into the room to see the doctor an 1 hour later the doctor is still a NO SHOW. Wasted four hours waiting for doctor in which his staff appeared to be clueless as to if he was going to show up. This seems to be a starting trend for this doctor - BUYER BE WARE. I scheduled a visit with Dr. Walker on Jun 24, 2015. Appointment was for 1:45PM..I was asked to do an X-Ray of my knees before even seeing the doctor. I was in Exam room for about an hour waiting to see Dr. Walker when his assistant stepped in to ask if I wanted something to drink while I waited. I explained that I needed to return to work and couldn't wait all day. She said she would see if one the other Doctors could see me. After a about 10 minutes more waiting the assistant returned and said Dr. Walker wasn't in the office, he was at the ER and they had expected him to return before my appointment. None of the other doctors where available to see me, so after wasting over an hour I left and still had knee pain in both knees. I scheduled this appointment a week ago. Now I have to find another doctor. Complete waste of time!!!!!!!! Why would a Doctor's office not tell a patient that there doctor wasn't in at the time of arrival and make them wait!!!! I choose Dr. Walker services for two reasons. 1. Because he had excellent reviews 2. Because I am two floors above his office in the same building. I would not recommend a Dr. Walker services to anyone!!!!!!! I scheduled a visit with Dr. Walker on Jun 24, 2015. LONG REVIEW, BUT PLEASE CONSIDER READING! I would not recommend Dr. Walker based on my personal experience. I chose him because he had "4.5 stars" and close to home. I understand it's not the doctor's fault for long wait times since patients arrive late and set appt’s back, but I waited 45 min 1st and 2nd visit, then literally 1 hour and 45 minutes at follow up appointment. UGH! At least give me a heads up that I have a long wait time. I felt like I, the patient, had to lead my own appointment instead of feeling like the doctor led it, and initially, Dr Walker did not read my xray that I got in the office before seeing him in order to help with my diagnosis. I had a ski accident in Dec 2015 and knew I either tore something in me knee or had a fracture based on my initial severe pain and unable to bear much weight at all on my injured leg. I called right away to schedule an urgent appointment since we were coming back to TX the morning after my accident. (I didn’t want to try to find a hospital in the Colorado weather when we were coming back within the 24 hours from when I got injured, which I figured was fine to wait one day since I didn’t have a bone sticking out or anything ;). I will say it was easy to get in quickly that next day. Initially, since I wasn’t “jumping out of my skin” I guess, as he assessed me, He told me I most likely had a bone contusion (a bad bruise) and a knee strain/sprain. I typically handle pain well and don’t show it on my face, so I rated my pain 7/10 that day when I would try to put weight on that side even though I was smiling when he came into my room. I had come in with crutches because I knew I needed to keep weight off of it, but he said, “Since I don’t think it’s a break or completely torn, you’re probably OK walking on it to keep it from getting stiff, but I guess it’s good you’re staying off of it a little to rest it. I’ll give you something for pain too and a steroid pack.” WORD FOR WORD. He made me feel like I was being dramatic by using crutches. Even though he seemed like he did not believe I was hurting pretty badly, he did prescribe Tylenol #3 for pain (a narcotic) with 4 refills, which would've been about 7 weeks worth! This bothered me, as knew I could become dependent on these after 2 weeks! I did not refill more than 1x. Ends up after MRI 2 days later, the radiologist came and read my images ASAP because I was scheduled to work that night for a 12 hour shift (I’m a night nurse) and I needed a note to be excused off officially. Radiologist said he was very surprised I was able to put aby weight on my leg, since it was a tibial plate fracture with a minor sprain and that I SHOULD NOT be walking on it, let alone going to work to be on my feet for 12 hours. So, at follow up, Dr Walker HAD NOT READ MY MRI YET at this appointment and all he did was feel around again and asked how it felt. I had to directly ask him if he had seen MRI result, and told him the radiologist told me I had a tibia plateau fracture. He replied, “Well radiologists can over-read fractures sometimes. Did they actually show you a line on the images where the fracture was?” I told him yes. He THEN looked up the report and said, “Well it does look like you have a tibia fracture. Nothing warrants surgery luckily, but let’s do crutches and rest, elevate it, ice if you’re swelling, alright?” Wow…I wonder if he felt embarrassed. I was very happy no surgery was needed, but I had to ask him instead of him telling me/recommending to me, “Sooooo how long on crutches and how long should I stay off work for it to heal properly?” In general, the positive of all this was the politeness of his staff members (nurses, xray tech, etc), easily getting a scheduled appointment, and that Dr Walker had a nice smile. Will not be going back to him! LONG REVIEW, BUT PLEASE CONSIDER READING! I would not recommend Dr. Walker based on my personal experience. I chose him because he had "4.5 stars" and close to home. I waited AT LEAST 45 min for 2 of my 3 appnts, and 1.45 hours for follow up (I know this isn't directly the Dr's fault, but at least tell me to expect a long wait if behind). For my knee fracture, he prescribed Tylenol #3 for pain (a narcotic) with 4 refills, which would've been about 7 weeks worth! I had knee replacement and dr walker was amazing. He was courteous informative and just an excellent Doctor. After only 2 and a half weeks I have almost total range of motion. I am very excited about my new knee and I can't thank dr walker enough for his excellent skill and help for my future knee.

Dr. Walker is an excellent surgeon and is a great doctor to help you with the transition back to full capacity. I broke my wrist in November and I have experienced very little pain. My wrist bone healed completely within a couple of months. Dr. Walker also referred me to an excellent Doctor of Physical Therapy, who made the transition seamless. What started out to be a bad break and a terrifying situation turned into a positive experience, thanks to Dr. Walker. I recommend that you see Dr. Walker, conveniently located in Dallas near Medical City, when you need hip or knee replacement or you have a bad break.
