This dr. and his staff have changed my life. If that is truly your problem this is the office for you. I have seen Dr. Swick and his NP Sarah for a long time. Dr. Swick isn't cuddly and full of sunshine and roses--he tells it like it is. But if you are suffering with a condition that no one seems to understand--and there is no one in this area more knowledgeable in the field of sleep disorders than he is--do you want a hug or a diagnosis. The reviews here that say they are arrogant or full of themselves is not anything I have experienced--especially Sarah! She takes her time and listens to everything before she makes a diagnosis or decision. This dr. and his staff have changed my life. If that is truly your problem this is the office for you. This guy saved my life and treats each case very seriously. His staff will manage to find your medical records from anywhere which he studies before even seeing you. He is also able to do general neurology,so now he is my one-stop shop for managing my narcolepsy, depression, physical health, and was able to get my epilepsy under control very quick. Dont worry about the bedside manner. If he you are his patient, he isnt trying to be your friend, he is focused only on sorting out your health. As one of the leaders in his field, he is one of the best in Houston at doing his job. He only expects that you be honest with him, and do your part with the treatments. Very disappointed in the service I received. I've had my heart shocked and was told that I had to wear the CPAP machine or I'll go back into AFib. I've left numerous messages at Dr. Swick office regarding the machine being too powerful for me and needed it adjusted with no return calls. I had the answering service tried to call them they told me it's not an emergency and to call back on Monday. My best advice is find another doctor who cares. Avoid this office unless you don’t want your opinion valued. I was turned away because Sarah the NP was only going to do paperwork her way and her way only. Her ego shines through the minute you say something that doesn’t fall in line with what she thinks, her condescending tone shines through when having a conversation with her. I can’t speak for the Dr. as I have yet to even see him in the halls of he own practice. The unwillingness to help and work with you really radiates from this practice. Don’t bother with this place. Visit a dr that values what his patents have to say and think. They really forget that they are in the customer service industry just as much as in the medical industry here! STAY AWAY! I have been a patient of Dr Swicks since 2000. I have found him to be compassionate and a good listener. He diagnosed my condition and for almost 20 years now it has been controlled. My father was also his patient. When I suspected there was something wrong with my dad he advised me to get him to hospital. Dad refused so I took him to Dr Swicks office. After a brief exam he concluded dad needed to be in the hospital. Dad became irrational and than stroked. Dr Swick sat on the floor holding my dad reassuring him while we waited for a transport. Dr Swick does not mince words but my experience has been it’s because he wants the best quality of care for me. I appreciate him.

Sleep study was in the office without air conditioning. Zero information about it before hand and it was absurdly expensive for results that were not entirely believable. Tech are great but Dr Swick is opinionated about areas that are not sleep related. He also seems a bit full of himself. I would not recommend.

Quality care with nice facilities. Staff is helpful and makes the process relatively easy. While Swick's knowledge and ability to explain issue/resolution is not in question, be prepared that he isn't a talker or very personable. If you're looking for friend, don't see him.

He saved my life and I will forever be grateful to have him as my physician. After several yrs of misery, multiple docs, 8 to be exact and thousands of $ on test and exams. Nobody could help me or knew what to do for me, until I was referred to Dr. Swick. Finding him was truly life changing. Thank U Dr. Swick

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. He is a rude, unreliable, and unaccommodating doctor. I would like to recount a detailed description of my series of appointments, but do not have enough space on this website. The bottom line is this guy will not explain anything about your condition to you, and has you keep scheduling appointments, even when you don't need them; He required an appointment to get a CPAP machine even after I had done the calibration. Bottom line: Dr. Swick milks his patients.

Albeit Dr. Todd Swick is an expert in the area of sleep, he's my attending neurologist for my Autoimmune Encephalopathy(old term Hashimoto's Encephalopathy). Just bc he has a specialized interest area in sleep, does not mean he isn't capable for other areas of neurology. Dr. Swick is a phenomenal, well rounded Neurologist. I am thrilled to have found him to treat me and my very rare disease/condition, esp after having a subpar neurologist who "treated" me for over a year, with no real assistance in my care. Never actually saw the physician. After spending five hundred dollars out of pocket, even though I have insurance, I was given no real information regarding my difficulty sleeping at night. All I was told was that I don't have sleep apnea and I already knew that. They sent me home with a home sleep monitor for not one but two nights to the tune of $127 per night, but the results were similar and one night would have been more cost effective. Waste of money!

I nearly died when I blacked out while driving home to the Galleria area on the Allen Parkway at 6 p.m. on Oct. 20, 1999. One moment I had cruise control on at 35 mph, listening to All Things Considered on KUHF (88.7 FM), the next thing I knew was that ambulance workers were pulling me out of my car, which had veered off the Parkway to go down a slight slope and smack head-on into a tall oak tree! I blacked out again and awoke in Herman Hospital's emergency room, where my nose was being packed and my lips were being stitched and multiple bruises made my ache from the waist up. Subsequent diagnostic tests -- blood work, EKG, MRI, etc. -- showed no symptom of any underlying condition. A visit a few weeks later to Todd Swick, M.D., led to his strong recommendation that I undergo a Sleep Study -- overnight and then the next day. Dr. Swick's analysis of the results led to his conclusive diagnosis that "strongly positive for narcolepsy," with my REM phase of sleep during the four 1/2-hour nap periods of the test hitting each time between just 4 and 15 minutes. (For years prior to my collision, I would experience drowsiness or fall asleep in some evening classes I took but I rationalized it and never thought for a minute that I could be narcoleptic. I thought narcoleptics all collapsed suddenly in "cataplexy" and fell to the floor suddenly while riding an elevator or something. I had no idea that narcolepsy could be lurking undetected in me!) Dr. Swick prescribed Provigil for me, which has saved my life, keeping me awake and alert. He's really good, I know, and I'm forever grateful for his fine service! Dr Swick is a life saver! He really cares about his patients and addresses all of their concerns with patience. He visited with me for over an hour on our first consult and has treated me correctly, accurately, and has offered great relief for my sleep disorder. Staff is kind, informed, cordial, and accommodating. I highly recommend this Dr. for anyone who is struggling with any type of sleep disorder. He is highly educated, experienced, knowledgeable, and up to date on the individual treatment plan of each patient. He is not a 'one size fits all' kind of dr. I have been a patient of Dr. Swick for 6 years now, and he has been a phenomenal phycian. Hehas taken the time to perfect my needs in regards to medication so that I can function to the fullest. He was able to diagnose my narcolepsy w/ cataplexy the first day I meet him, and confirmed the diagnosis shorty after. I have seen other people's complaints about his practice, and I feel that their complaints were more involving his price w/o proper coverage. If you have proper insurance you'll be great

Waste of money and time, 240$ for 10 minutes and he prescribed me something over the counter i could have easily got at any walgreens, and of course didnt work.

Never got to actually see the Dr.just some pushy woman. This place is a scam. They were having me watch videos about how to use the Cpap machine before I even had my study and I was seeing them for sleep walking. I took the study and told them I had a cold but they said it was fine to do the study. The same pushy woman gave me my results that the study showed a very slight indication for sleep apnea and I needed a Cpap machine before they could prescribe me anything else. What a joke!

This place is so micromanaged I couldn't even make an appointment. The staff was rude and pushy.

I had a LOT of questions regarding my ongoing sleep paralysis. It's when a person wakes up during R.E.M but not are able to move their body. My mind is alert, but my body is in a state of paralysis. It was always a very terrifying experience for me. Desperate to find answers for my problem, I visited Dr. Swick's office. But when I asked him WHY it happened, he very nonchalantly replied, "That's just how you're built." That's all he said, it was as if he blew off my question entirely. Even when I explained how scary the occurrences were he didn't flinch at all. He was VERY quick to prescribe me medicine and just send me on my way. The medicine, unfortunately, made my symptoms even worse. So I stopped taking them. If anyone wants to see this doctor for any other sleep disorders, I suppose he may be able to help.
