Todd Evan Handel

I have gone to Dr. Handel for many years and I was able to work because of his expertise without going to surgery. I went from crawling on my floor to get to the phone to having a life walking, exercising and enjoying my retirement. I must repeat treatments but it sure beats an error in surgery. I have met my share of those 2 in family who wish they kept treating with injections. I am thankful for his practice.

Dr. Handel is the best doctor I’ve ever had. He listens and solved a problem that 3 other doctors couldn’t solve. I can’t say enough about him and what he has done for me. Eternally grateful!!! Thanks Doc!!!

Dr Handel is a good listener. He asks a lot of questions and does a thorough examination before deciding what the next step will be. I feel like I'm in good hands when getting injections. I trust him completely.

If I could put 0 stars then I absolutely would! This guy is the biggest quack I've ever met! I can't believe he's a "doctor"! He was absolutely terrible! He walked in on his high horse, questioning if I even have any of the illnesses/diagnoses that I have! Without looking at any images of my neck or any of my paperwork/records, or even evaluating me!! He treated me like a liar, for no reason at all! And he was making jokes about it all and being really rude! Meanwhile I'm in agony and desperate for help, wearing a neck brace and it's all limiting me so much in life but he didn't care to even look at my neck! I have been in excruciating pain for over ten years. Had major surgery and still could barely stand up. After my first visit I was pain free and have been for going on three months. Everyone there is incredible.

Before I went to Dr Handel, I was a mess. I could barely get out of bed and tie my shoes, at the age of 43 then, he changed my life for the better. I am able to work my physical job, and just enjoy the simple things in life because of him and his staff. He’s very caring as well, not just as a Doctor but as a human being. He really saved me from going down a very dark hole, he helped me get off some pain medicine that was being handed out to me before, I was in a very bad place, but he cared enough to put the time and effort into helping me get off all of it, what a true professional Doctor should do. Dr. Handel is exceptionally knowledgeable... I am a former football player, and mountaineer. My medical profile includes, parenthesis of left arm due to sustained neck trauma (??), painful sensory neuropathy, failed spinal fusion, cervical and lumbar disk-disease and severe bi-lateral end-stage knee O.A. He is the most thorough doctor I have been treated by. Patients are seen on time, tests are completed promptly, medications are refilled immediately, and calls are returned daily, if needed. ?? He is a physician in a PRIVATE PRACTICE - there are incredible demands placed on these doctors by regulatory agencies, but he is still a strong patient advocate. ?? My P.C.P. was retiring and my care was sub-standard. My health was deteriorating and I could not find a P.C.P. soon enough. In ONE DAY I was in a specialist's office, who was no longer accepting new patients, because he had made a call. ?? He is a kind and moral man who takes his Hippocratic Oath very, very, seriously... ??

This office has the worst office support staff imaginable. I called multiple times to confirm whether the fax order from my PCP was received. The phone rang indefinitely. No one answered. No one responded to my three emails. Finally, I received a message from the office manager that I had been rejected as a patient because I had made "too many phone calls." I have never heard of such a thing and been treated with such disrespect. I would not recommend this practice. If it were possible to give it zero stars, I would.

Dr. Handel provided excellent care to my mother and he has a caring manner.

Dr. Handel is the best I have seen to help with pain management. I recommend everyone to see him.

With the help of Dr. Handel's injections I was able to put off surgery for a decade. He's gone beyond the norm and helped me through some tough situations. He's a truly empathetic individual. I tried many other doctors/shots before I found him. His shots are very effective. He has my full trust. He's truly a top notch professional.

My 86 yo Mother became a geriatric addict to oxycodone under the care of Todd Handel and Hope Burns. I, one of her daughters, had to put her through withdrawal in intensive care for ten days. She is now part of a lawsuit. Watch out for this physician and his treatment modalities. You can be an addict in less than 2 weeks to opioids and they will destroy your life. That is what happened to my Mother. I will seek justice for her.

Dr Handel has treated my back pain for many years. I’ve walked into see him on a walker and after injections on my si joint I’ve walked out without any assistance. Not only treats my back but many years ago I had multiple hernia operations that left me with tremendous pain from scar tissue. Every 16 weeks or so I get injections in the areas where the scar tissue is and I’m pain free for 4 months. Thanks dr Handel your the best!!

I suspect Kelli Gonsalves and Dallas Gonsalves didn't have a clear understanding of what a physiatrist does. Dr. Handel and his wonderful staff keep me walking and as pain-free as possible! I am so thoroughly grateful my primary doctor referred me to Dr. Handel's office and that they accepted me as a patient. They diagnosed and fixed a disabling problem no one else had been able to figure out. They truly keep me walking. There is nothing "snake oil" about his treatments. There is nothing "patching, not fixing" about his treatments either. Some chronic pain conditions cannot be fixed, but can be managed with various treatments like PT, massage, steroid injections, etc. I avail myself of the tools he offers and am able to continue to work full time, despite chronic pain conditions. when you have an appointment with Dr Handel he always takes the time to explain everything in detail and always gives you more than one option of treatment. Very comforting and helps put you at ease.

awful pain in my hip/leg. Pain was excruciating. My primary care doctor was puzzled. referred to Dr. Handel. When I explained my symptoms he asked questions. said he knew what was wrong! Tried conservative treatment PT helped but pain still debilitating. Had epidural injection which was a bit uncomfortable.BUT it was WORTH IT pain is gone. I am so thankful to Dr. Handel. Before I had this procedure my life had stopped. I was taking pain med & I could not do anything. I have no more pain!!!

During lumbar nerve block injection for herniated disc, I felt lightning go down spine & upper thigh. Electric shock caused thigh muscle to seize in worst Charlie Horse ever. I screamed in pain & try to reach thigh to massage cramp, but Dr stop me by pinning down my shoulders & back. Only yelled at me to stop screaming / moving & refused to massage cramp for me or let nurse, so I "could" stop screaming. No idea what happen cuz Dr didn't check on me after & avoided eye contact in recovery room 2x

Lived with the pain for 5 years. Had an injection 40 years ago - said I would never do again. Was a mistake waiting so long. When I requested Dr. Handel notify me when when the "big needle" would be inserted into my hip, he responded "I'm done". Wow! I got up and walked out. As the staff told me, it took a few days to take effect. Feels great!. Went for a follow-up yesterday - was out of there in 15 minutes. Thanks Doc & Bryant!

Does great work!!! I come here from states away to get a back shot that's effective. I've had many elsewhere that did not work. Plus, Dr. Handel is a good person. He has empathy when it counts. The staff is very friendly and the wait is minimal. I highly recommend him.

Have been a long term patient of Dr. Handel and always find him pleasant and professional. He has made life tolerable for me again and continues to care about my ability to function and enjoy life. My only regret is not seeing him sooner.....

I have RSD aka Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I have seen many specialists to get some help with keeping the pain under control. Many other doctors made me feel like the pain was "in my head." Dr. Handel and his staff immediately made me feel at ease. Everyone in the office was very professional and friendly. The doctor took the time to read my history, review my scans and presented me with SEVERAL options. I cannot say enough about the knowledge Dr. Handel has as well as his staff.

I was in daily pain and could scarcely walk when my primary care doctor referred me to Dr. Handel. Dr. Tod Handel diagnosed my problem with pinpoint precision very quickly, when others had been stymied. Within a few weeks I was able to get a targeted treatment that was revolutionary for me. I could walk again, pain free, within a few days off the treatment! Eight months later I had a second treatment which has lasted at least as long as the first treatment! I am endlessly grateful to Dr. Handel.

Dr. Handel was one of the rudest physicians I have ever met. He entered the examination room on a crusade, without taking the time to talk to me and develop a fuller understanding of why I was there in the first place. He's very impersonal and brusk which might be an indication of his insecurities as a physician, or maybe it's just a personality disorder. I waited 2 weeks to see him, and the appointment accomplished nothing aside from leaving me feeling utterly defeated.

Dr. Handel spent a lot of time with me. Other doctors I had seen did not know anything about my complex medical history and he knew everything and had made notes to ask me about specific programs.

Lacks bedside manners. Stereotypes patients. God like complex. doesn't care about overall health of patient. Biggest mistake seeing him. Lovely staff tho

I can't speak to whether the Dr. is good or bad, because he never gave me the chance to meet him and talk to him about my situation. I have family that sees him very regularly and they were just as taken back and appalled at how things turned out. It's my feeling that any Doctor should have a sit down with the patient to find out whats going on before throwing the their file in the garbage!

Back injection worked great!

Office does not respond after asking for confidential medical info. Receptionist states your records are in review and will contact you. However, I never received a follow up phone call.

Dr. Handel took the time to listen me. He made sure that I understood the plan going forward. He has compassion like no other pain doctor.

I have had back & neck problems my entire life. Dr. Handel became my doctor 8 years ago at a time that I was practically bed ridden and I could not even lift my arms. It was extremely difficult to work and I was considering disability. With his care and maintenance I feel as though I have a new body and feel great. Over the years I have referred several people to him and every person has had great results and is thankful he became their doctor.

My junior year of college I woke with the worst migraine I've ever had and was rushed to the emergency room. I then spent over 30 days in the hospital with a never ending migraine. I was sent home and an explanation was never found. I missed a whole semester of college and my migraines have never ended. My mother suggested I see Dr. Handel. The best thing I ever did in my life. He treats me every 3 months and I have yet to have had another migraine. Thank you so much Dr. Handel
