Todd Adam Gersten

This doctor is cold, shows no compassion, no empathy. Has to be told what to do, no examinations nor blood drawn to check tumor markings in over a year I was seeing him. Had to continuously chase him down to send Rx refills to pharmacy. No cancer patient deserves this nor should ever have to go through this.

Dr. Gersten was highly recommended to me and I have to say he did not disappoint. I came to see him from Chicago. He is extremely knowledgeable and well versed in Hemo/Oncology. Up to date on all aspects of testing and treating blood cancers. He is compassionate and patient and listens without rushing you. Offers fantastic advice. I felt heard, with all of my concerns and questions answered fully. I am currently in treatment and feel comfortable in my decisions based on his expertise.

When I found out I had leukemia, I headed straight for Dr. Gersten's office. He had treated several friends, all of whom recommended him. He is just as wonderful as they said: competent, kind and very patient. I could not ask for a more professional or a more empathic doctor.

I recently switched doctors in the middle of my treatments. Best decision of my life. Dr. Gersten made some slight adjustments to my protocol and my numbers are consistently improving. He has made personally made time for all of my questions and concerns, which makes me feel important as opposed to feeling like a number. His entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Gersten. My wife has been working with him since she had anemia issues during pregnancy that was caused by a rare autoimmune illness. Most recently, my wife had to be hospitalized with a stroke, and it was Dr. Gersten who identified the cause of the stroke and began a regiment of treatment that has saved her life. Dr. Gersten is not only a brilliant physician, but he really cares about his patients and is a rock for us during times that can be extraordinarily stressful and scary. Thank you so much. Has to be told what to do never checked cancer markers never seems interested in my care.

Dr. Gersten is an outstanding physician that worked with my my wife while suffering from anemia from a rare autoimmune illness. Most recently Dr. Gersten played the biggest role in saving her life by identifying and treating the illness that caused a stroke and life threatening clotting disorder

Dr.Gersten has been my Dr.for many years.He has always been my calm in every storm when it comes to my health.He is a very compassionate person who listens closely to all your concerns.He has always guided me in the right direction with my health.I would refer him to anyone who is looking for good care.

I Have have bloodwork done weekly because of my illness, Dr. Gersten monitors it very closely each week for possible blood transfusions, my rapport with him is great i feel i have a great patient/ Dr. Relationship with him excellent physician.

I was advised to see Dr. Gersten upon being diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukemia by my family care doctor. I met him for the first time while a patient at Wellington Regional Hospital. He was extremely caring and visited my bedside almost daily over the course of many hospital and office visits. He stuck by me during my entire illness and gave me hope and encouragement. He prescribed the necessary treatment using chemotherapy and other medications and I credit Dr Gersten in saving my life. Thanks to Dr Gersten, I am now in remission. I was diagnosed with stage four PMP. I went into the office as told by a co-worker of Dr. Gersten with my fiance. (Someone with an extra set of ears to listen or as questions I may forget to.) We waited and he came in, acknowledged us and then sat down. He barely took his eyes afterwards off of his computer. He really didn't explain things and it felt like I had no answers with him. Which this is tough for me having been sick for eight months and then finally being told I have cancer which was part of why I was sick. He took a phone call in the middle of talking at us (yes, at us, not to us). He told me to come back in a week's time so he could speak to two other oncologists. I went alone the week after and basically a similar situation happened. He acknowledged me and then starting talking at me about how he didn't feel systematic chemo would be good for me and then called another oncologist, in the middle of talking to me. He didn't even tell me what he was doing on both encounters, he just picked up his phone and either answered it like on the first visit or called someone on the second. I felt like he wasn't listening or talking with me. The Dr. he did call was the one specialised in my cancer in better detail and he sent me to another associate who has been excellent in customer care.

After being diagnosed with Stage 4 uterine cancer, I was devistated. I am a single Mom of a special needs child, and I was terrified for not only myself but for my son. Then I saw Dr. Gersten. He not only gave me the hope and support I need to fight this terrible disease, he saved my life. I am happy to say that I am now three years in remission and doing great. I owe it all to Dr. Gersten, he is an amazing and knowledgeable physician.

Pure and simple, Dr. Gersten is a top tier choice for cancer care. My husband was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2012. (No, he never smoked.) Dr. Gersten has been treating him since that time. He is current with the latest/best treatments and he religiously monitors my husband’s condition to stay on top of any changes. When needed, he consults with other specialists to coordinate treatment. His staff is top notch as well. And the nurses working in the infusion area are angels on earth!! A cancer diagnosis is a scary thing to hear and deal with, but Dr. Gersten and his wonderful staff are the best fighting partners anyone could ask for. I recommend him without hesitation!

Dr. Gersten has been a godsend since my diagnosis. Not only is he an incredibly smart and accurate oncologist but he has great character and bedside manner. I actually look forward to seeing the pleasant staff during visits and know they are there for whatever I need. I can't thank this man enough.

Most doctors aree knowledgeable and competent at what they do, what sets Dr. Gersten apart is his demeanor and genuine concern for his patients; we met in an impersonal manner by way of his making rounds at the hospital where I was in ICU so to him I could have been just another face but instead he treated me as though I had been his patient for many years. When I went to his office for a follow up it was as though with an old friend who also was my treating physician and the same with his staff. Many good vibes from being treated as a person, not treated like just a faceless insurance claim.

As a Leukemia patient out of remission in September of 2014 I was recommended to see Dr. Gersten and he has truly been "a lifesaver" to me and my family. Going on 5 years of seeing Dr. Gersten and now in full remission I have found him to be extremely knowledgeable, caring, diligent, and always there for me and others. I wouldn't even think of seeing anyone else and God Bless him now and going forward in this very tough but important profession. John S.

The first time I visited Dr. Gersten, I was only there to check my platelets as I was 3 months pregnant. He became my oncologist after I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma on my 2nd trimester. Dr. Gersten and his staff were wonderful during such traumatic times. He constantly coordinated with my OB/GYN and my perinatologist doctor to make sure my baby and me were safe during chemotherapy. He was always a good listener, honest, direct and made me feel safe. He then treated me for a reoccurrence and also recommended Moffitt Cancer Center for a stem cell transplant. Dr. Gersten was one of the responsible doctors that saved my life and my baby’s. He carefully selected the right treatment for me and I will always be grateful. It’s been 8 years since my diagnosis and I’m still on remission!

After being diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma at the young age of 31, I felt like my world crumbled. I was a Mom of two small children, a wife, and a medical professional for 10 plus years. I entrusted my care in Dr. Gersten after he was highly recommended by many well respected health care professionals. He and his team of angel nurses saw me a lot as I was very sick throughout my treatment. He was always there, no matter the day, time, or what was possibly going on. He is extremely knowledgeable, honest, and truly a great doctor. When you are given a cancer diagnosis, you don't look for the "ok" doctor, you go for the one that is a guru in his field, and this is Dr. G! He has been there for my family and I through our darkest days, has been available whenever I've needed a question answered or a sounding board to remind me that I don't need to freak out. I can not thank him and his staff enough for the love, care, and support they poured out on me on my journey into remission.

He has been taking care of my Mom for Cancer and has been truly the BEST!!

Dr. Gersten is a really outstanding good doctor. He is very well mannered, very professional and highly disciplined. He tries very super hard at everything he does!

I've been a patient at his office for many years and I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Gersten and Anna his nurse. Good people who take the time to listen to you and who are not focused on pushing medication but instead want to work with you finding ways to achieve better health. A doctor who knows you personally outside the walls of his office and who truly care for our wellbeing.

I was an inpatient for an infected port at a local hospital and was to see Dr Gersten while I was there. He was a no show for 2.5 days. When he did show up, he was rude, dismissive and made highly insensitive and inappropriate remarks. Cancer patients deserve to be treated with sensitivity, respect and dignity. I won't tolerate that treatment from a rude, burned out, resentful doctor.

He is a good listener and easy to talk with. Spends time with the patient.
