Dr. Tin O Maung

I have been seeing Dr. Maung for a number of years. Most appointments start with a review of recent lab results he has ordered for me to complete prior to our appointment. His willingness and patience to review all details of labs, changes in eating/lifestyle habits that may help (or have hindered to) maintain the level of my CKD always result in a better understanding of how they are affecting my health. I have other health issues that must be considered when treating my CKD and he has always demonstrated a willingness to work those other providers. His office staff is terrific. Because I schedule my appointments early in the day the wait time is usually less than 10 minutes.

Dr. Maung reviewed my kidney function labs because of changes in recent labs. He was very interested in my medical history because I had been in stage 4 Kindey failure for a few years and his review showed a marked improvement to mid-level stage 3. That’s when I was surprised as he began a thorough review of my medications. He was determined I understand each’s purpose and effect on the human body. The time invested increased my understanding of my health and the role I had in its improvement.

My Mother was a patient of Dr. Maung's. She was diagnosed with late stage kidney disease. He was rude, impatient, dismissive and barely explained anything to her and shamed her for coming to him so late. She was not only left depressed by a her illness, but also by this person's lack of care, compassion and empathy. She had a horrible experience.
