Awful doctor, Gets paid by insurance companies to write reports against an injured workers injuries, so not only does the injured worker have to deal with the injury, but the stress this doctor adds to his situation while knowingly writing contradictory reports which are often left unfounded and dropped in court. Initially he performed a cartilage surgery, but video was not provided, not sure what he did, later on I got ACL replacement because he told me after that I will be able to play soccer again, then another ACL replacement, at the end he told me that I won't play anymore. I could avoid those surgeries if he mentioned that before, either he wasn't able to perform a correct diagnosis or he was just looking to perform surgeries no matter what. although waiting to see a doctor is never a pleasure, it is the new norm. good doctors are overbooked, get used to it. But when it comes to care, he is a first rate surgeon. maybe uses the PA's too much so he can see more patients, but every procedure has been exceptional. My surgeon by choice! I highly recommend.

I have had 4 Left shoulder surgeries. I do not trust anyone else. I have had others want to give me steroid injections when that wouldn’t have helped. He is honest and he knows what he is doing. DO NOT let anyone hack on you. Every time you are operated on u you loose a little. Choose wisely. Dr. Ackerman is in my opinion the best in the Harrisburg Area.

1st visit for shoulder and arm pain, Dr. Ackerman was attentive, professional, personable and thorough. Treatment was a cortisone shot, physical therapy and NSAID for pain. Follow-up appointment in one month

Lies on reports to try to get your WC case sent to litigation. I was attacked and hurt badly, was honest with Dr Ackerman and he lied multiple times on reports, reworded things and made factual errors in reporting stating I had no prior years (the surgical report was given as evidence showing I had prior surgery to repair the tears he said never existed)! Dr. Ackerman is the most amazing doctor I've had! I came to him with what was my third ACL tear. His office was phenomenal, the service I received was top notch and he was able to repair it and help me get back to being healthy. A few years later I started to notice my knee locking, I drove down from State College to visit Dr. Ackerman and his team was able to accommodate what would have been three doctors visits, in one. It turned out part of my meniscus was starting to tear away- which is very common with an ACL tear. We spoke about the options of surgery vs the cortisone shot and ultimately decided to move forward with the surgery. Here I am, 7 years later having just completed my first marathon. I NEVER thought I'd be able to run again, let alone 26 miles on pavement. And I did, with no injuries/pain to my knee. I am so thankful for Dr. Ackerman and recommend him endlessly to anyone in the area or tri-state area!

He was very thorough explaining what my injuries were and how he repaired them. Appreciated his follow up call after the surgery. Very professional.

I had a full tear rotator cuff repair performed by Dr. Ackerman. The range of motion I have already is amazing. He explained what was wrong and what he did to fix it and I am completely satisfied with his work and demeanor

he is the on call doctor and was supposed to call me back over an hour ago but i haven’t gotten a call and the answering service for arlington orthopedics is terrible the girl hung up on me when i asked to speak to a supervisor. terrible service.

Dr. Ackerman is a competent and professional physician who replaced my rt. shoulder and both knees. I have had no difficulties since my surgeries several years ago. I am pleased with the outcomes and glad I chose Dr. Ackerman for my three surgeries.

Dr Ackerman did a great job on both my knees. I have recommended Dr Ackerman to many of my friends.

Dr Ackerman is a wonderful Dr. He fixed my knee another Dr had all messed up. I would recommend this man to anyone. What a great Dr.

Although I often have to wait past the appointment time to see him, I always leave feeling I have been listened to, had all my questions answered in terms that I understand, and have been cared for as an individual, not just another arthritic patient. I trust him, which is very important to me.

I absolutely can’t say enough good things about Dr. Ackerman. My husband had numerous, numerous knee issues. Dr. Ackerman met with us over the course of several years for his whole host of issues, taking time to explain things and work thing through options with us. Never did we feel rushed. Never did we feel that we weren’t well taken care of. Some other reviewers have said that there are time delays. There can be. i was not able to see Dr. Ackerman, the scheduler for appointments wanted me to schedule with another Dr. in the group. I felt like I had no options other than the ones she offered. So I went to another group.

Had a swollen knee. Gave me pills and ointment. Said he'd see me in a month if not better. Returned and waited and waited, then nurse comes and says he's running 40 minutes late. Made a new appt in 2 weeks at early in the morning. Waited another 30 minutes then left, after requesting they return my $40 deductible. Oh, that has to be done from the main office. I still haven't received it. Will find a different doctor who has better time keeping skills. Had a swollen knee. Gave me pills and ointment. Said he'd see me in a month if not better. I am a 60 year old male, who leads an active lifestyle. After suffering for 9 months from the pain and swelling resulting from a meniscus tear and arthritis, I decided to have my knee operated on. I did my research on knee specialists, and decided on Dr. Ackerman. The surgery went better than I ever imagined. So much so that 2 weeks post op I was riding 15 miles on my bicycle, and 22 miles at week three. I feel 5 years younger! I endorse this doctor 100%.

I have arthritis in my right shoulder and made an appointment to get a shot in my shoulder for the pain. I was assigned to Dr. Ackerman. My first visit was satisfactory. My next two visits (for shots) I felt like I was wasting his time. My next two visits I was assigned to Brittany. First visit I had another shot. Next visit I was told I had frozen shoulder and sent me to Hershey. I need a shoulder replacement. Something Dr. Ackerman can do. Why did he pass me off to Hershey?
